Its close to michagen avenue For a suite it was very poor - dark - poor natural light in the rear of the hotel - no view of the city as describe. BATHROOM EXTRACTOR FAN STAYED ON ALL NIGHT AND WAS NOISY STAINS ON THE CARPET - ROOM LOOKED WARN NOT CHEAP EITHER AT OVER $500 - HOTEL TAX WAS AN EXTRA $100 AND WAS NOT MENTIONED IN YOUR QUITE

Delicious restaurant entrees. Small, cramped room. Hallways and room (on the 22nd floor) were uncomfortably warm. We turned the thermostat down to 60 degrees and still had to open the window.

Its vintage and sense of updated tradition. The staff was generally pleasant, and the other guests were fine. The only problem was slow elevators, and there was no concierge at 6:30 P.M. There was no protected location to have the car emptied of luggage. The wait to get my car back was a little slow. But that's the city. The city atmosphere was great.

An older hotel, but the rooms are clean and functional. The registration staff tried to get me to upgrade when registering, but the sales pitch was not too strong and he was not offended when I declined. Our room was front-facing with nice views on 2 sides. The concierge was super helpful, and the hotel has a free bag storage service that allowed us to check out but not take our luggage until 10 hours later. Very nice on our last day in the city (we had a red-eye flight out of Chicago). The "standard room" is small, with about 1 foot of clearance between the foot of the bed and the outside wall. Not a problem for me, but it could be if your not a shrimp like me!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very attractive with art deco influences and great views from our room. We'd have preferred tea and coffee making facilties in the room rather than having to go downstairs for our coffee.

The valet personnel were excellent and even gave us one night of parking for free because they did not have our car to us in the requisite 30 minutes. The staff when we checked in were probably the most unfriendly we have ever encountered in all of our travels. Our impression was that they could not have cared less that we stayed in their hotel.

Called for maid service and took over 3 hours for the maid to arrive (this was mid-late afternoon) Vallet service, even during slow hours took at least 15-20 minutes to bring around the vehicle from the parking garage next door each time they were utilized. Upon checkout the Vallet flooded the vehicle and then proceded to spend the next 3 hours trying to jump it. I had to help push the car out of the the story parking structure. I was delayed for over three hours and the hotel staff refused to make any recompence and claimed they took no responsibility.

The hotel is an older building with interesting architectural details that has been renovated very tastefully with a rather Art Deco modern feel. The service and food were excellent, the room comfortable and sufficiently roomy. The lobby and main restaurant are scaled down in contrast with other hotels with more spacious lobbies but quite comfortable and chic. The location is ideal for downtown visits, two blocks from Water Tower Place and right on the Magnificent Mile.

The quick check in and the convenient location. There was no fridge or microwave at all. There was a mini bar with alcohol and a drawer with food. When we went to check out, we found we were dinged with a charge for the minibar and food, even though we did not take anything. It was an inconvenience we had to fight to get off our bill. The elevators are also inconvenient and skip you when you are on the ground floor sometimes and are also quite slow, given the congestion associated with a downtown hotel.

The Allerton is a gorgeous Italian Renaissance hotel in design and exewcution. Amazing staff, wonderful venues, beautifully appointed, oh so soft linens and friendly, intelligent, humourous staff, gently but elegantly efficent. Loved every moment. My conference was actually at a hotel abut 15 blocks away... I like to get out and walk when I am at a conference ... And the walking tours nearby were excellent. My stay wasn't long enough - I would have liked to have been surrounded by this lovely hotel for longer! - Lise Allin, President of Lise Allin Insurance and Estate Planning, Belleville, Canada

The location is great. The value for the room is poor, I would expect to pay less for zero lobby and limited workout space with no pool/hot tub. Our room had a carpet staple at the bathroom threshold that we all stepped on during our stay. I like the historic feel to the hotel and appreciate the architectural value but I think in the future if I am going to spend that much I mine as well stay somewhere with a pool/hot tub and a more vibrant lobby.

At The Allerton Hotel Chicago I really had great time, and this thanking both the Hotel Staff and the very good position of this Hotel. My room was always kept cleaned, both the room and the bathing room, it was quite confortable one side and from the other side it really had spectacular view of the Magnificent Mile. The Hotel Staff were very friendly and helpful.Travelling time from / to the O'Hare Airport from the Allerton is also good. If lanes are not too much crowded it takes 30 to 45 minutes to go / come.

I like the staff, they were very helpful and friendly and willing to assist you with places to dine. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that you didn't have dinning in the evening for dinner.
