The beautiful rooms, the location. We were able to walk everywhere!
The pools were freezing and pretty much empty.
Very accommodating for late check out Valet/transportation people were very nice and helpful
Not even a coffee pot in the room. Thermostat didn't work Nasty front desk person For what I paid, I expected it to be nicer. Loud other guests all hours of the night
Good price, clean room, nice terrace
The room was very hot.
The Miami like lobby, lamp shades, retro furniture in rooms, the breakfast restarant special, pools, professional staff. Looks and feels like a Miami hotel inside and out. Great place. It was my second stay there.
nly that the Annex side felt more like the dingy side and appearance was more like a motel than a hotel. Kinda scary. Doors needed painting, it was the lonely side and needed more repairs. I stayed on the beach front side before. Beautiful and cozy. Big difference. Wow.
The staff was nice.
The elevators stunk! The rooms were old! They tried to cover up the wooden furniture with magazines and papers . It was a mess. No mini frig was sad. The cups had no plastic cover over them. We'd stayed in a days inn for 60.00 that was phenomenal and this was double that and disappointing .
That is was very close to the boardwalk
There are two sides to this hotel. One side looks new and clean and the other side looks like a scary motel. Of course we were placed on the scary side. It was darkly lit, walls and doors filthy dirty. The room was ok. Upon checkout when reviewing the bill we was charged an additional $15 for using the parking lot when we parked at a meter. Had my card not been charged prior to my stay I would have not stayed at this hotel. I will say the restaurants food was very good.
Was a bit out dated, hallways Carpets Where dirty, room Bathroom were small if they wr updated maybe it wouldn't seem so small. The heater didn't work in room, the experience overall was poor!
It was close to the boardwalk
Second room was nice clean compared to the first
First room was small and dark and had one 2x2 window near the ceiling. I called the desk because there was black mold on the bathroom and bedroom ceiling. The "engineer" came to look at it and was like "I hope you didn't unpack this is freaking ridiculous" and then they moved me to a nicer room on the fourth floor that had a balcony (with no view) but the room was so much better smelling and clean!
I didn't like anything about the Chelsea Annex
If you are used to or desire the finer things in life DON'T CONSIDER STAYING HERE! This was a case of false advertising. The photos on line did not paint the total picture. The carpet was old and musty smelling, elevators were rickety and old, a fellow guest's room service cart remained outside for two days, and the light fixtures contained blown light bulbs. The hallway was painted a mustard yellow with popcorn texture and smelled musty as well. What a horrible way to spend my birthday, definitely not worth the money spent to stay there. Don't do it! I don't understand how anyone could give this dump a good rating unless of course they used to live in a homeless shelter. I'm pretty sure the Non annex counter part is not as bad, but it's a shame that the Annex is neglected in the aforementioned ways described.
If you are looking for a no frills hotel to just lay your head down for a few hours, this is it! Great price for a great hotel. I liked what they had to offer.
Wish they would have had a safe in the room, since it's Atlantic City, I wouldn't want to carry so much money with me at one time.
19th floor room. Clean room. Restaurant Service.
Pool was NOT heated. Restaurant closes too early. Guest Services close early. No shuttle to Bus Station or casinos. Poor Menu. No Night Life.
The beds were comfortable and the room was decent once we switched to the Chelsea Lux side.
The Annex at the Chelsea was run down, smelly, dark and not appealing what so ever! The Supervisor on duty Thursday evening, September 25, 2014 was not helpful at all. The night we arrived there was no heat on the Annex side and the Supervisor was not helpful in accommodating my group of 7 people. We had to complain through our booking companies in order to switch from the Annex side to the Lux side. When we asked the Supervisor on duty to switch our rooms she said there would be a charge of an additionally $80 for both nights. Our booking agencies managed to have us switched over for a total of $40. In all I wouldn't recommend the Annex to my worst enemy!
How close it is to the beach. How close it is to the boardwalk How close it is to the Tropicana
Slowest wifi No access to the jacuzzi
the bed was very comfotable, close to beach, restaurant and bar on property
needs update, hallways dark and gloomy baconies facing street are horrible if you book annex make sure you ask for pool view, area filled with street people not safe at night
The "city view" was a loading dock with dumpsters right across from the balcony. Absence of light in some of the hallways. Child was frightened by a stranger in an unlit hallway. No staff/security by Annex entrance. Odors.
beach view, staff, car service
annex was run down
The valet staff were great and the proximity to the Tropicana was nice.
Wait lines to check in were slow. First room we were given was not the room we booked (had no balcony). Recieved right room after going back to front desk and waiting in slow lines. Room looked nothing like pictures on website. Very outdated, stains, lock broken on sliding glass door, city view was a view of a cheaper motel, and had 4 lamps but only 2 worked. Very slow wi-fi.
The beds were comfortable shower pressure
floors felt damp the room has a smell of mildew not matching the website description TV not working properly
The Annex seemed like a cheap motel that they tried to upgrade. Thank goodness I spent the extra money to stay on the Chelsea side. great experience.
quick check in and out staff was polite and friendly.
decent for the money " vintage" interior in need of an update. As with most hotels there is a $125 security placed on your card and parking is an additional $15.
