Key West prices are high but the tariff for the Artist House was only possibly justified by its location in the old quarter.
Our room was on the ground floor next to the kitchen/breakfast room (not a problem) and had doors out onto the rear spa bath/patio area and seating. The room was well appointed and comfortable with a fridge and coffee machine, though the kitchen next door could also be used for making drinks. There was a happy hour with complementary wine, beer, soft drinks and nibbles which was very welcome after a stint of sightseeing.
The House is only about 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal and old harbour - maybe 10 minutes walk from Mallory Square.
For breakfast, there was a good choice of cereals, fruit, bread pastries, meat yoghurt etc with juices, tea and coffee. Enough to see you through the day.
There is no parking at the House, but plenty of free kerbside parking in the area, which is both quiet and safe.
