We go there before the 4PM check in time hoping to get settled in and rested before surgery the next morning. The desk clerk made some calls and got a room ready by about 2PM.
The room smelled strongly of mould/mildew/dampness. Carpets and furniture had a noticeable odor.
hotel outdated, furniture really old, internet was horribly slow when it worked
The suite was a big one-bedroom apartment. The walk to downtown through the Freeway Park is cool.
The climb from the Sound Transit Light Rail station is long and steep---take a taxi. It was hot when we were there and no air conditioning...
This is an extended stay sort of place, with a full kitchen and living area. It was clean and in good shape. The soap and shampoo were nice. Everything worked fine. Coffee and wifi is supplied, plus a decent TV and some old paperback novels. The bathroom was in good shape.
The location isn't terribly useful for tourists--I think it's more intended for people visiting the nearby hospitals. The hotel is very old, with an old elevator, but is charming because of it, too. For cooling, there's only a box fan. The toilet handle is behind the lid, which is an awful design.
Our new home away from home when visiting our daughter & family who live in Capital Hill condo!!! Suite very large & comfortable!!
The price is quit high, because it is not in de center of Seattle.
Historic building (1931) Comfortable room Kitchen available at least in some rooms 10 minutes walk to downtown Excellent WiFi connection
Half of rooms are just in front of a hospital which means noise after 5 AM (except Saturday and Sunday); ask for another side room if you want to sleep after 5AM
no air conditioning
Bathroom too small, no room to put a large suitcase in the bedroom, had to live out of our suitcase in the living area. No bulb in lamp. Minimum TV programs. Queen bed not available. Parking expensive.
There was no value for money! It was the worst hotel ever!
Walking distance to Paramount theater, Pike place market, clean, heritage property, separate bedroom and living area.
no air conditioning, basic TV channels, tub didn't drain, beds felt like you might fall out.
Not air-conditioned Too far from major downtown events Noisy
Clean room and plenty of space for two people.
No a/c in the rooms. It wasn't that bad with a box fan in the window. We were lucky the weather was nice enough for us to keep the window open at night.
Great location, excellent prices with very helpful and accommodating staff.
Found the rooms to be uncomfortably hot and difficult to sleep due to that.
The unique old fashioned look. The lobby is beautiful. The staff downstairs was very kind. It was convenient for Dr. Appointments at VM.
We had garbage from the last guests in the kitchen and there were no fresh towels when we arrived. The staff took care of it. It was hot so we pulled out the fan and it was caked with dust and dirt
The Baroness is a quaint old-style hotel with large comfortable rooms, good kitchen facilities for those who want to cook and plenty of services around the Hotel. It was great to be able to open windows to access fresh air! We found a great Thai restaurant around the corner, handy 711, relatively easy access to public transport and helpful staff
location, friendly and helpful staff, working fan
the elevator broke down -
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good coffee in the lobby.
The hotel was far from everything including transportation. Whatever we saved we spent in taxis to get anywhere. The hotel is tired and depressing. We stayed 2 nights and the first day housekeeping took our towels and did not replace them or the coffee. We had to go to the desk to get more towels. The elevator is slow and there was no A/C or hair dryer. We would never stay here again.
Old building with lots of character. There was lots of room, apartment style accommodations.
The carpet needed to be vacuumed better. Refrigerator was old, no door on freezer compartment - I did not know whether it would work - did not try it. Some utensils and dishes missing from kitchen.
Loved the older architecture and décor. Pleased by how quiet it was in its location.
Art Deco style and period furniture. Quaint. Easy to find local cafés for breakfast.
It was hot on the top floor but leaving windows open meant we heard every noise of the city. Room next to the lift was a bit noisy.
The suite was comfortable and very clean. The location was good for walking downtown.
The rooms were warm and some of the furniture was worn.
Apartment type suite, with kitchen, spacious room. Very confortable
It was very hot in June. There is no air conditioning. The check-in is only at 4PM. If you are arriving from abroad, early in the morning, you will have to wait til 4PM to relax from a long trip.
I liked that the hotel was within walking distance to the WSCC, downtown, restaurants, etc. It's location is great. The price was good, too.
The facility does not have air conditioning and it was very hot during the time I was there. They did have a small fan available, but it wasn't enough. Also, the cleaning service was poor. For 4 days they never came by to change sheets or provide towels, yet they now have daily cleaning service per their signs.
Construction going on so the mornings were not as quiet as one would hope.
