The room had plenty of space and the kitchenette was small but ok for preparing a hot drink or breakfast. The fridge was quite large. Gym was good. A bit noisy from street noise, even on the 16th floor and from maids in and out of the supplies room next door until quite late at night, but not really big deal.

At "The Benjamin" I was able to run all my errands, shop and eat with no problem. I slept very comfortably, and the hotel staff were very warm and helpful. It will always be my choice in nyc.

The Location was good. The Service for the elevators was terrible. Only 2 elevators for the whole building. You had to wait for a long time to get to an elevator.

Responsive and pleasant staff. Good location, close to lots of subway connections and destinations within walking distance. The internet connection was terrible. If I hadn't had to leave so early, I would have contested the one day I paid for internet service. It kept kicking me off and it took forever when I was connected. Very frustrating. They also don't use top sheets on the bed. I had to ask specifically for one.

Overall a great hotel. Front desk seemed a little understaffed. But the staff at the front desk was courteous, professional and extremely helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and nicely arranged. Luggage check in slow. Luggage handlers were rude.

We ordered room service for a late night dinner and the food was excellent. It was good but nothing special. Light bulb for lamp on one side of the bed was broken so I called the front desk. Someone came up with a new lightbulb, but it turned out that the lamp was broken so that did not work. I was surprised at the sloppy maintenance. The staff were very pleasant, even if they could not fix the problem while we were there.

I love older hotels with character and this one did not disappoint. I've stayed in many corners of the city but never this far out. I was told it was located in the business district which was nice because it was quiet when I was there to sleep. The National is a quaint little restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service. The W is very close if you're looking for a more exciting nightlife atmosphere. It was a great value for the money. I highly recommend and will stay there again.

It is a bit pricey for the type of hotel it is. I got a good deal but the regular price is a bit high Looks like it needs a touch of maintenance. A few sloppy details.

Wha tis this about ski/watersports and backpacking? We have stayed at the Benjamin many tiems and like the location and the size and the front desk staff. We noted that the lights were burned out in our room and a few appliances did not work...maybe you have to check a little closer on some of the rooms. But we like the Benjamin a lot and we will be back. see above...just small matters

“We loved the room although we found it to be a bit small but most hotel rooms in New York are small. The concierge services was brilliant and the tickets we got to Chicago were absolutely brilliant. It was great having Whiskey Blue bar nearby and as we travelled with a group of friends it was the perfect meeting point as well as for nightcaps..Loved the hotel and the location was perfect!” Kathy, Rose Bay |
