The room had plenty of space and the kitchenette was small but ok for preparing a hot drink or breakfast. The fridge was quite large. Gym was good. A bit noisy from street noise, even on the 16th floor and from maids in and out of the supplies room next door until quite late at night, but not really big deal.

The bed was awesome, comfortable & so soft. If you want a good night sleep, their bed is the best. Quiet floor with view overlooking 50th St. Suite 1806 was very nice. Lots of room. 2 iPod dock radios. Windows open. Sofa comfortable but no dining table. Room service & deliveries were prompt. I booked suite with balcony but it wasn't available so they gave me a 'bigger suite' no balcony but with a discount, free drinks & free breakfast. My view was over another room with an awsome balcony, I wish I had. I will only visit again if I can get that room & balcony. The small fridge was stocked with over priced items but there was room for my own things. Restaurant room high price for small selection. There is a store & diner right next door & other places close by. No ice maker in freezer as the front desk stated but room service delivered ice promptly. Staff was friendly but check out was slow. They didn't take off my discount until I reminded them & I'm waiting for my credit on my account.

Excellent location - helpful staff - very comfortable bed and good size room for ny - modern tv with lots of channels - room had it all. Prices quoted on Booking.com do not reflect final charge due to various taxes to be added, etc. Probably more of an issue for Booking.com to deal with - an additional $300 on 4 night stay!

Doorman and concierge were extremely friendly and helpful I know they get tips but it seemed they would be like this anyway, they definitely were a huge plus on our stay. Also the room was lovely and kept so clean. We did not like the checking out process it was too slow waiting for the room to be checked on the mini bar, we had a bus to catch and I started to worry we would miss it. We were told to go and sit down while they got their answer we were sitting for 15 minutes then had to go back to reception to ask again and they still hadn't got the answer....

The kitchenette and the bathroom are nice. The room is quite large for nyc. They are stripping away it's charm and history. The reception and bar area on the 2nd floor has been replaced with a conference room. Internet is $14 a day for the worst speed you can get. Also, strangely, there was no top sheet. Since when do you make a bed without a top sheet? The mini bar was shockingly over priced. The staff waited for one tip after another. They need to add some tears to the portrait of Benjamin and his dog in the lobby. He would be very sad to see what his children have done to his hotel.

Nice location and a friendly staff. Small and slow elevators make it a challenge getting in/out of your room at busy times. The attached restaurant "The National" (operated separately) is very average and over priced, which means you must leave the hotel to eat or drink. This isn't much of a problem as there are many good restaurant choices within a 3 block radius.

It is a bit pricey for the type of hotel it is. I got a good deal but the regular price is a bit high Looks like it needs a touch of maintenance. A few sloppy details.

Wha tis this about ski/watersports and backpacking? We have stayed at the Benjamin many tiems and like the location and the size and the front desk staff. We noted that the lights were burned out in our room and a few appliances did not work...maybe you have to check a little closer on some of the rooms. But we like the Benjamin a lot and we will be back. see above...just small matters

The location of the Benjamin was perfect. It is right in the middle of everything...away from the chaos of Times Square but close enough that it only requires a quick walk to get there. I liked having a separate bedroom and sitting area, and the fridge and microwave were a bonus for snacks.

The benjamin was a very good hotel; the location was great in Manhattan. The room was very clean and well decorated; we felt comfortable and at home; the conciërge was very helpfull. Surely you can choose for this hotel if you can arrange a resonable price. The only thing that we missed, was the free internet in the room.

Excellent Concierge, Sarah. Quiet in spite of being in midtown, walking distance to everything. Friendly, courteous, helpful staff. A total pleasure. Bathroom could use more shelving or counter space for toiletries.
