Location is great.
Too much noise comes in thru the windows making it hard to sleep.
Professional front desk manager Helpful staff Great housekeeping service Very large and comfortable bed One bed room very spacious
Traffic noise in low floor Elevators very slow Expensive car parking
Loved the location and rooms, homely feel and clean.
Room service was awful, I chipped my tooth on a bone in a chicken sandwich. Manager did take the room service off my bill and offer to call a dentist, however my flight was first thing and I did not have time. Now I am home I can see the complete damage to my tooth and I am not impressed. Summary Room service overpriced and awful food.
I loved the look. I stayed on the 16th floor in a Queen Suite and I had a balcony. Room was very clean and bathroom. Very spacious space and wonderful staff.
The only thing is the noise outside...but it's NYC. Make sure to put the privacy please card outside your door, room service comes early
Location, room layout
Noise from street even on 17th; lift delays
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable
Elevators extremely slow. On Sunday morning they did not work at all. Had to carry two bags down from the 10th floor
The location was perfect allowing us to walk to numerous restaurants, attractions, plays, etc. When necessary the doormen were great in calling cabs in a very timely manner. The housekeeping staff was excellent and courteous at all times. The front desk staff always had a smile and pleasant comments. Although we have been to NYC on several other occasions we plan on making the Benjamin our "go to place" from now on.
Unfortunately the restaurant on premises, The National left something to be desired. The wait staff were not as friendly or as accommodating as one would expect. The food though good was certainly not outstanding. Can you believe a restaurant in Manhattan being "out of " smoked salmon for one's bagel and cream cheese??
Location that's it
The toilet seat dose not stays up,and trying to connect the shower from the bath tap and nearly came off the wall defo not a 5*
comfy beds, great room service, great steam room and helpful staff - very safe
internet and tv connection had some breaks in service
Haughty impersonal service (apart from one particular lady).
Smell of food smelling through inefficient piping and smell of disinfectant in rooms to disguise bad plumbing. Downstairs restaurant too noisy and the food too American for me.
We had cocktails at the bar one night and the bar staff were so friendly. Great atmosphere too! Also booked last minute to have New Years Eve dinner at The National and it was brilliant.
The location is the only good thing in The Benjamin. Staff also was friendly and helpful.
The Hotel is charging a higher amount for no extra facilities. Small Lobby, Limited staff , room supplies are not matching 5 star criteria and terrible old Lifts. I suggest to improve their facilities and Lifts System as I lost a lot of time waiting to ride the Lift in both up & down trips.
good location, but the room is dated
We really enjoyed our stay Excellent decoration, ubication, service... I am so happy I found a place like this and definitely will come back on every trip to NY
Friendly and helpful staff, and the sense of comfort with a hotel which I am now used to.
Absence of any quiet lounge or coffee place for entertaining a guest or personal relaxation. Restaurant is excellent but can be noisy, and is generally busy.
The location and the staff were very friendly, positive and helpful
The National for breakfast Inflexible and arrogant. They only take reservations for breakfast. I wasn't told that at the check in. There's no priority seating for guests of the hotel. I had to wait 40 minutes for a table the one morning and the other morning we walked out and ate elsewhere.
So this was my first time in NYC - we decided to go for and 8 night trip - The hotel we stayed in was amazing and for a first timer to NYC it was the ideal location midtown slap bag in the middle of the action. The Hotel was fab - not too big - the longest you had to wait for the elevator was max 5 mins! The staff were extremely friendly and the concierge was great for recommendations on local restaurants etc
I needed a relaxing holiday so NYC was not the place for me!!! (first world problems I know!).... having said that when we took a trip to Soho/ Tribeca I instantly felt relaxed and next time that is where i will be staying. Bloomingdales and Macys are nice but dont bother - head downtown to Century 21 its magic :)
Old charming style Breakfast
Floors in the rooms
For me I care a lot about staff because they can make you're stay a living hill or they can give you the best experience and that is what made me fall in love with the Benjamin The staff was more than great they were so helpful and the concierge was the best I've ever dealt with and the door men were so sweet with my kids, the room was just perfect although I got the worst view but overall it was a pleasant stay.
The alvetare was too small and we have to wait a long time until we can hop in!
Absolutely beautifully room, very large and incredibly luxurious! Wonderful staff!!!!
Midtown is a bit dull and the room service food is premade and not great
The Concierge (Muhammed) was 2nd to none - he was simply outstanding and was always on hand to assist in any way he could. As a result, our business trip was all the more enjoyable!! For those who value great service, location and 1st class rooms, I strongly recommend The Hotel Benjamin.
Lots of room, very spacious which is rare for NYC! Windows open (great to get air flow - air conditioners are very noisy)
Kitchen was very basic. No kettle, no knives. Unless you are just looking for basic refrigeration and a microwave, the kitchen facilities are really not suitable for meal preparation.
the suite we stayed in was very large for NYC standards--even a kitchenette
would have been nice to have a coffee shop and small drug store shop inside the hotel to get incidentals and coffee
Excellent location, friendly staff, we had reservation for queen bed they offered king bed. Comfortable beds and pillow.
Small lobby and lifts. Wifi charges ?? Most hotel provide free wifi. Long distance call inside the US , they charged me too much which was unexpected, in Orlando it was free. It was better if breakfast was included.
