Paying $15 per day for wifi
Good location for ticking off tourist spots with the kids. Reasonable value for a room that housed 4 people as it had a siting room with pull out sofa bed. Ask for a quiet room as we did and even though we were on 7th floor we had a peaceful night.
Mohammed the doorman was extremely helpful
The quality of the bed was very very bad ! The Elevator was on work during all our stay , each time we loose 10 minutes and unfortunately we were at the 20 th floor . The air conditioning is like a V12 Motor noise all time Most of the TV channel doesn't work .....
1 of the 2 elevators was not working during the all 3 days nights stay in the hotel.
The room was over warm and yet it was winter. Could not get room to below 66 degrees. Too hot for sleeping. With window open, it was noisy and with air con on was noisy. Neither should have been necessary.
Modern comfort with traditional style and great New York unique atmosphere
Staff makes you feel at home
Too much noise comes in thru the windows making it hard to sleep.
Location is great.
Traffic noise in low floor Elevators very slow Expensive car parking
Professional front desk manager Helpful staff Great housekeeping service Very large and comfortable bed One bed room very spacious
Room service was awful, I chipped my tooth on a bone in a chicken sandwich. Manager did take the room service off my bill and offer to call a dentist, however my flight was first thing and I did not have time. Now I am home I can see the complete damage to my tooth and I am not impressed. Summary Room service overpriced and awful food.
Loved the location and rooms, homely feel and clean.
The only thing is the noise outside...but it's NYC. Make sure to put the privacy please card outside your door, room service comes early
I loved the look. I stayed on the 16th floor in a Queen Suite and I had a balcony. Room was very clean and bathroom. Very spacious space and wonderful staff.
Noise from street even on 17th; lift delays
Location, room layout
Elevators extremely slow. On Sunday morning they did not work at all. Had to carry two bags down from the 10th floor
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable
Unfortunately the restaurant on premises, The National left something to be desired. The wait staff were not as friendly or as accommodating as one would expect. The food though good was certainly not outstanding. Can you believe a restaurant in Manhattan being "out of " smoked salmon for one's bagel and cream cheese??
The location was perfect allowing us to walk to numerous restaurants, attractions, plays, etc. When necessary the doormen were great in calling cabs in a very timely manner. The housekeeping staff was excellent and courteous at all times. The front desk staff always had a smile and pleasant comments. Although we have been to NYC on several other occasions we plan on making the Benjamin our "go to place" from now on.
The toilet seat dose not stays up,and trying to connect the shower from the bath tap and nearly came off the wall defo not a 5*
Location that's it
internet and tv connection had some breaks in service
comfy beds, great room service, great steam room and helpful staff - very safe
Haughty impersonal service (apart from one particular lady).
Smell of food smelling through inefficient piping and smell of disinfectant in rooms to disguise bad plumbing. Downstairs restaurant too noisy and the food too American for me.
We had cocktails at the bar one night and the bar staff were so friendly. Great atmosphere too! Also booked last minute to have New Years Eve dinner at The National and it was brilliant.
The Hotel is charging a higher amount for no extra facilities. Small Lobby, Limited staff , room supplies are not matching 5 star criteria and terrible old Lifts. I suggest to improve their facilities and Lifts System as I lost a lot of time waiting to ride the Lift in both up & down trips.
The location is the only good thing in The Benjamin. Staff also was friendly and helpful.
good location, but the room is dated
We really enjoyed our stay Excellent decoration, ubication, service... I am so happy I found a place like this and definitely will come back on every trip to NY
Absence of any quiet lounge or coffee place for entertaining a guest or personal relaxation. Restaurant is excellent but can be noisy, and is generally busy.
Friendly and helpful staff, and the sense of comfort with a hotel which I am now used to.
The National for breakfast Inflexible and arrogant. They only take reservations for breakfast. I wasn't told that at the check in. There's no priority seating for guests of the hotel. I had to wait 40 minutes for a table the one morning and the other morning we walked out and ate elsewhere.
The location and the staff were very friendly, positive and helpful
I needed a relaxing holiday so NYC was not the place for me!!! (first world problems I know!).... having said that when we took a trip to Soho/ Tribeca I instantly felt relaxed and next time that is where i will be staying. Bloomingdales and Macys are nice but dont bother - head downtown to Century 21 its magic :)
So this was my first time in NYC - we decided to go for and 8 night trip - The hotel we stayed in was amazing and for a first timer to NYC it was the ideal location midtown slap bag in the middle of the action. The Hotel was fab - not too big - the longest you had to wait for the elevator was max 5 mins! The staff were extremely friendly and the concierge was great for recommendations on local restaurants etc
