Location and price. Breakfast was benefit for travelers. Traveller's tip: Take the train from Back Bay Station to South Station to avoid the changes on the "T". Both-sex shared toilet and shower facilities. Deferred maintenance on building interior. Boston needs a hostel but this needs an upgrade soon, everyone will feel better about it. |

Part of the reason why I booked Berkeley Residence was that it provides free wifi. To my dismay, however, the wifi wasn't working during my entire stay. |

Clean, close to everything, great service and great employees. Breakfasts are great, bathrooms are clean, the air is fresh. The Wi Fi internet is not that efficient, sometimes or may I say, most of the time, it was off. |

Newbury street and orange line were very close. It has a nice and quiet neighbourhood. Boston Downtown and Boston Commons within walking distance. Too much sweet food, no meat, cheese, etc. |

The staff in the hostel are really very nice! The breakfast is included, which is very convenient and also tasty. The "city view"room has no view at all. Our window is facing to another window, and the distance was less than 10m, so we can see each other clearly. That's the only "city view" for our room. Maybe "river view" is better, but we don't know. |

Being right on Berkeley Street in the middle of the city made access to a lot of high points easy - and remarkably cheap! There were strange (not dangerous, just weird) people all over the place. It was not a "hotel" but definitely a hostel, very low level accommodations and also a (former?) YWCA. But, with a complimentary breakfast, and a great location, worth the price. |

Good clean college dorm style room within easy walking distance to conference I was attending at a very good price. Substantial cafeteria-style breakfast at no extra cost. Unavailability of inexpensive parking nearby. |

For what it was, basic accomodation, it was good value for money and a well run hostel. Breakfast was good too and free! Staff were all really friendly. Dont come here expecting luxury accomodation...just a bed in a basic room but great location and reasonable choice if you dont mind simple accomodation |

The location was excellent for our needs. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet offered something for everybody. The room was too warm, but we opened the window. Unfortunately, there was considerable traffic until maybe 2 in the morning. Still --- a good deal for the price. You should maybe mention in your description that this is really more like a hostel than a hotel. We don't care, but some people might feel misled. |

Inexpensive in a very expensive town (Boston) and located downtown near the subway and shopping, resturants, museums, etc. Very plain, no TV, many types of people staying there, and no bath in room. |

We checked in late (8pm), and left early (7am) so we did not use the lobby much or view the facilities much. Shared bathrooms were clean and had great shower heads with good water pressure. Rooms were quiet and not too hot or cold. We stayed in October so this may be the reason. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall no complaints. Quiet place to sleep. Parking was the only issue we had. We were given directions to another place to park, although the staff had never actually been there and could not describe it or give us an address, but could not find it. The place we did find that said they accepted validated parking, something the staff mentioned we could do to get free parking, told us it would still be $27 dollars to park over night. We eventually found some street parking on our own. Not a big issue really considering the value of the hotel. |

The location was right in the middle of all of the attractions we were wanting to visit. Everything was within walking distance. For the location, the price is amazing. Shared bathrooms on each floor. Had to wait to use the showers, however they were very clean. |
