Room was clean but outdated
Safety was a concern as the door chain was flimsy.
The staff were quick to respond to any of our needs, effeciently and with a smile... The water pressure in the shower was extremely soothing....great value and would definitely stay there again.... highly and confidently recommend it as the place to stay...
The shuttle stopped too early on the weekend....and it wasn't able to accommodate the number of guests wishing to use the service mid morning and just after dinner between 9 - 10 pm....we ended up having to pay for a taxi to get back to the hotel from the subway.
The staff. I was in Washington for a state department meeting for my international nonprofit that helps save children lives. A lot of work for me for a great cause, I appreciated the business center, the variety at breakfast the free shuttle to and from Reagan and to the metro. Most of All I appreciate the staff and do mean all the staff the front desk are effective multitaskers, the van drivers are courteous and very helpful, and the women working at breakfast are very pleasant a nice way to start the day. The manager leads by example and is hand on I was attending a gala event and formally dressed when a downpour started and the manager went back into his office and brought out his own umbrella for me to use The Manager and the Staff should all win the staff of year award
nothing my entire stay was excellent
Staff was fantastic. Extremely accommodating.
No dining except for breakfast. No newspapers available. No list of local available dining information in their book of information. No exercise equipment available.
location, price, staff, breakfast
no blankets and turning on the heater set off the fire alarm.
Beds & pillows are good, room and bathroom very clean. Previous reviews complained about the breakfast. I found a typical motel breakfast - breads, pastries, cereals, waffles, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon or sausage, yogurts, juices and coffee/tea. So unless one is expecting a gourmet, custom prepared breakfast (which one is not going to get at a budget priced motel) - this one is just fine.
I was given a wifi password, but could not pick up any network in my room. This wasn't a significant issue for me this trip, so I didn't pursue it with the front desk staff.
The Best Western Pentagon was clearly the best value room I could find that was somewhat near the metro and Crystal City, where I had meetings.
The room smelled funky...like humidity that never came out of the air and worked its way into everything. It seemed dated. I guess that explains the price - it was definitely a better price than rooms in Crystal City but not nearly as clean or attractive as other hotels I've stayed in for the same price. Compared to other hotels in Crystal City, it was the only one I could afford but it was not a good "value" in that the room was not very nice for the price (~$140/night).
The price is right for an acceptable faciliy with no frills, and the location can work for a pleasant stay if, and only, if the shuttle service to Metro, airport, and nearby restaurant row is running efficiently AND courteously.
The shuttle service is erratic. During mid-day hours there can be an hour wait, and some of the shuttle drivers are imperious jerks.
Staff very nice and courteous
Had to switch rooms after one night, both rooms smelled like a mildewy old motel.
Shuttle bus provided to local metro station & also nearby restaurant area.
Room was nice but had musty odor.
Location & price
Room needs some attending like the paint peeling off of bathroom door.
Convenience to D.C. Shuttle service to Metro Clean room Helpful staff
Bathroom needed updating Front door and bathroom door were warped and wouldn't close correctly. Shuttle not on time during busy time.
Room facilities all dated. Electric sockets all hang in from walking. Fearful of fire. Bathroom poor
Staff was very positive and friendly
Shuttle service to the metro station was helpful
Very well worn feel
I asked for a handicapped accessible room and was given a room at the farthest point from reception. We came without a car, this was a problem. The air didn't work, the pipes knocked so loudly they woke us up several times a night when someone flushed. The owner watched me get two cups of tea and two milks, which I put in my pocket so the tea could steep. The owner promptly removed all remaining milk. He made me feel like a thief. I own a small restaurant with a slim margin, and we never limit refills, much less imply we don't have milk. We each ate only one waffle and two cups of tea so I believe they made enough to cover the second cup of tea. We were never given our free night's stay although this was our 4th or 5th stay in a Best Western since the summer. The only reason I would recommend this is the shuttle which was rather erratic, and even when there were too many people for the shuttle mini bus, the larger bus (clearly visible) was not deployed. Instead we had to wait for the next bus.
Location, shuttle service, breakfast
Wi Fi was continually losing signal
Breakfast and shuttle to Metro.
Ice Machine near our room not working. Ants in bathroom and table that has coffee maker on it. Shuttle is difficult to get into and out of! Toilet ran after flushing. No free fridge or microwave. Very disappointed in this BW.
Easy to get to the metro
The noise of aircon and other guests
staff was superb. very efficient, friendly and helpful. Shuttle service to subway station was very helpful for us. Breakfast was pretty good too.
had some issues with original room cleanliness but staff happily and quickly moved us to another room which was much nicer and cleaner
Good value for the money. Free shuttle back and forth to airport a big plus, the shuttle to Shirlington for a fun choice of restaurants a bonus, free wi-fi and breakfast. The manager Carlos personally helped get several bags to our room. Friendly staff and very accomodating
AC unit real noisy, not walking distance or close to restaurants or sights.
Breakfast was pretty good and came with the cost of the room. The room was spacious and decently comfortable, although not very updated or immaculately clean.
First we get there, and we are given the wrong room with 2 doubles bed, and I booked a king sized bed. We had very loud, angry, cursing neighbors which made us a bit uneasy. The walls are paper thin and we could hear other neighbors being intimate for quite some time. My boyfriend called to ask for the wifi username and password, and front desk told him he had to pack his bags and leave because of a complaint I apparently made (without any sort of explanation). I had to fight with the front desk that I did not make a complaint, although she insisted I did. Security came to our room and we had to deal with this situation at 10:30 pm when we were trying to go to sleep. Turns our the front desk attendant had the room numbers all mixed up and involved us in this situation when we had nothing to do with it. All we got was a fake apology. Finally, we get to bed and were woken up at 6:45 am because of someone blasting rap music in the parking lot - this went on for about a half hour. Overall, the room was a reasonable cost, but not even worth it for all the trouble we dealt with. I would not recommend staying here.
The front office staff were very helpful with questions we had.
there was an odor to the room, evident as soon as door opened. also we had an outside room and the door facing had a large hole covered with duct tape, so were unable to use the dead bolt-huge safety issue.
- Good breakfast - Speedy free wifi in room - Public computer to print boarding passes for flight - 10 min. from Philadelphia airport - helpful and attentive staff
- Parking lot is awkwardly located from the front door making it difficult to wheel luggage in and out of hotel - signs for lobby location too small to be noticed at night from the parking lot - entry sign for parking lot much too small and could be missed -thin bedroom walls with little insulation (could hear blow dryer and tv from next room)
