Clean and free parking
It's kinda far from the malls
Everything from the staff to the shower , this is a gem among a lot of one star motels. The breakfast is outstanding. The beds are very comfortable. And the staff treat you like royalty.
Can't think of anything I didn't like.
The staff was super friendly and helpful
The only trouble I had was that the walls that had the room-joining doors in them were very easy to hear through and I had very loud neighbors
The new look is ok.
They have to finish some details in the room because the renovation. Small breadfast room. food could be better.
Location and decor
Walls, moulding, flooring, structure, paint was terrible, I felt like I was in Motel 6. Never again will I go there
the inside of the room was nice but that's about all the good i can say
terrible location situated between an extremely noisy and busy freeway on one side, with tattoo and massage parlor on the other side. Lot of very loud motorcycles going back and forth. We could not stay there. In the room upstairs, the window opened right onto the freeway and we did not feel safe on the 1st floor with some of the local merchants sporting barred windows and doors and the aforementioned tattoo and massage places. The neighborhood was mixed good and bad, but appeared sketchy enough to elicit a safety concern. I would never stay here under normal circumstances and had I known more about the location I would never have booked this place but would have spent more for more suitable lodging. A total waste of $200. Unless I get some sort of rebate or voucher I will pass on using booking.com again. I don't think this should have ever been classified as a 3 star hotel, when in reality it's a 2 star motel a best. Live and learn.
The price and service was great. Very clean and modern furnishing. NO CARPET! Plenty of space in our double queen room.
The west side of the motel is where the cars park under (or in front) of your window so that can be a little noisy, though I hardly heard them. I would recommend asking for a room on the EAST side of the building where it is bordered by a residential area. I would have like for them to loan out some beach towels for the guests.
Free wifi, parking, continental breakfast, comfy rooms, great location; fairly close to Newport Beach and irvine, the sweetest, most helpful staff!
The hotel was a short drive to the beach and other OC activities, and for the price, it was perfect!
No soap in bathroom, bed was uncomfortable, housekeeping knocking too early several times, groundskeeper splashed cars with water everyday, which left hard water spots.....not happy after paying for a car washed. Also rooms were super dark, poor lighting?
The room set up was unique and modern . Comfy beds and great friendly staff .
It's a 10/15 min drive to the main hub of Newport ( but most hotels are on this area)
Everything: WiFi did not work, front desk was unhelpful when I mentioned this to them - they said it was working there in the lobby so there was nothing to do about it. Water was disgusting - even to brush your teeth with, the taste was so strong and so bad that it was just awful. The sink also backed up - wish I could upload the photo I have of the brown water filling the sink after the water was on only a few seconds. Floor was filthy - they must have thought replacing the old motel carpets with "hardwood" aka cheap linoleum would make the place feel nicer, however they are covered in dirt and filth, if you walk around for just a few minutes the bottoms of your feet will be covered in dirt. They could have spent their money doing actual renovations instead of wasting it on 1) lamps that don't work, 2) phone that doesn't work [they told me this was just happening today, but if you read negative reviews in the past, their phones never work...], 3) decorations such as a wall poster of a huge surfer next to a BLVD hotel logo with facebook, twitter, youtube, and instagram icons on it... yes, this is the big wall next to the bed, covered in social media icons, 4) strange orange lighting everywhere outside. We need actual lighting so we can see what is so dirty beneath our feet, we need better mattresses so it can at least pass as any different than a Motel 6, a sink that drains properly, and breakfast that is actually edible. Breakfast was absolutely inedible - yogurt was past expiration, hard-boiled eggs seemed to have been cooked improperly and had gone "bad", I stood in a line for 15 minutes to make myself a waffle at the waffle machine, I stepped away for a moment then when I returned, the staff had dismantled the waffle machine because "it's 10am and breakfast is closed" even though people were still standing around trying to get food. They also only have vegetable oil, no butter...
pool and jacuzzi
street noise and smokers all over the parking lot
The Decor was good and the employees were helpful and nice
Nice place to rest your head for cheap
Room wasn't ready when we arrived on time.
Clean spacious rooms and no smoking policy
location close to highway, as it is convenient
rework in progress old not redone bathroom
We visit Costa Mesa almost every 2 monthes in this year, we stay in BLVD for more than 3 times now, and we will keep staying there in the future!
Free breakfast I think the hotel was priced right, but I'm still one of those people who would rather pay next to nothing a night for a hotel room!
This hotel looks like it used to be a run down hotel like a very old motel or something? But BLVD remodeled the hotel and it looks decent. Well good enough to stay in for a couple of nights. I'm not sure if they will improve on there facility, but it does have a lot of potential to be a 4 star and a very good hotel. But they have work to do.
Location off the freeway
The place was under construction. Had to move rooms cuz my room still needed paint and the tile transition was missing frm carpet. In all the remodel was not complete.... Very bad experience. Way over priced for wht we got. The pool had no lighting around the pool or inside pool. Gate did not work. I could go on and on .....
it was close to the beach, staff was friendly.
*cleanliness *non smoking room but there's a designated spot for smokers *no weird smell the first time you come in *updated room *free parking *continental breakfast *8 to 10mins to the beach *near OC Fair, in which you could buy lots of stuff for a cheaper prize to give to your family & friends back home or for yourself too.
*Wall to wall noise, you could hear conversation in the other room *extra $100 deposit *hook from curtain fell off easily
We loved the modern feel of the Hotel. Complimentary breakfast was nice. Location was perfect. Very chic
Maybe longer pool hours
Staff was very friendly, decor was modern and well done, and rooms even had refrigerators, which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast and parking included was also nice.
Some of the breakfast options, especially the eggs, were disgusting. The eggs were definitely pre-made and warmed up. The waffle maker and yogurt was good, though. The wifi was also so slow it was largely unusable.
