I can't say enough amazing things about the Box House. I've traveled all over the world and this was by far the BEST hotel experience I've ever had. The facilities were perfect (beautiful spacious rooms, nice-sized gym, great sauna, convenient location and car service... but really what made this experience top-notch were the amazing staff...I can't remember everyone's name, but our first point of contact was Alicia (or Aleeysha...not sure of the spelling) and she was just great...from that point on everyone was extremely professional, friendly, and helpful with anything we needed. Our very last point of contact was Albert for our ride to JFK, and he was equally as wonderful. All I can say is that I"m recommending this hotel to anyone and everyone and will find any excuse to come back to New York so I can stay here again. A+ all the way!
I would recommend that reception calls in metered cabs as the one called for us charged $35 dollars for a trip that shouldn't have been more than $20. He was also driving incredibly slow to make the journey longer. If I were you I would go to the main road and hail down a cab instead.
Will definitely come back and have recommended this hotel to everyone. They have a shuttle service that drives you within 1 mile of the hotel., Takes you to the nearest station one of which is only 3 stops away from Times Square.
None to report.
Easy access to Manhattan via the G or 7 subways or by the East River Ferry. But for a refreshing change from Manhattan it's a great location to explore Greenpoint and Williamsburg and see more of the real New York.
Hotel was a bit off the beaten path from things however we used the hotel driver/shuttle quite a bit & every one of them were great! Construction across the street started early during the week & could be noisy at times.
The staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. Rooms were clean & comfortable.
No bad experience what so ever.
Extremely friendly kind and friendly.
Our group were disappointed with the lack of any sort of view from the rooms. Our room was advertised as having a terrace, yet it was a 3 ft x 6 ft space with noting to look at but a wall.
Location, free shuttle service, the hotel itself was very nice. Staff were very helpful...
The Box House Hotel is in a fantastic location, a sort walk to the Subway, and situated in an area packed with great dinner options (really too many to choose from). The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, and couldn't be faulted. The room itself was superb, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. I know where I'll be staying when I come back to New York.
Location - on the edge of nowhere.
The Staff. The aesthetic is fantastic.
The bed was not very comfortable. Lack of any food service.
Enjoyed having a car available for local transportation.
The matras was not so good. We both had backpack.
It is so pretty and the appartment are super big. The terras with the view of manhattan is insane. The staff is nice. I will go back here next time.
We ended up staying in two seperate rooms as were asked to move due to plumbing work. The beds in both rooms were very lumpy, woke up with neck pain every day. We didn't have hot water for one day but this was a one off, not ideal in -7 temp tho.
The staff were exception here, the location was good with great links and the free taxi service offered was fab. The place was very clean with quirky decor. The gym was basic but adequate with machines and free weights.
I wish that I could live at The Box House Hotel. The rooms feel like home and the whole hotel is beautifully decorated. The staff is so courteous and helpful, they really made my stay so much better.
My WiFi didn't work very well, not sure if it was my devices or if it was their service.
The hotel's weekday driver, Felix, was excellent. He knows the neighborhood very well and was helpful pointing out where to go, what there was to do, and what was soon to change. Overall it was a great experience.
Quiet place, comfy bed, great facilities, lovely staff
Everything was perfect.
Excellent location, wonderful ambience, very, very clean. It looks much better than on the pictures. The stuff is great, especially Felix, taxi driver with his recommendations and tips. All in all, if we go back to NY, we will stay in this hotel again.
There wasn't anything that I really didn't like however some improvements would be extra storage in the bathroom. Also it was hard to use kitchen area when the heating was on - it was too hot as it would blast into that area.
Helpful and consistent reception staff - good customer service. The drivers were always extremely helpful and pleasant…giving good tips. It was great to have the option to get a ride to the grocery store or subway after a long day walking. Great idea:)
For the price of this accommodation you couldn't really ask for more (in New York terms of course). There is a driver to take you to one of the 2 subway stations located very close by, however we never used him as they are literally 5 minute walks. There are shops and restaurants near by too. The rooms were lovely and the staff friendly and helpful.
Loved this hotel, great service and fantastic space. But it is a bit off the beaten path. They do have a free car service to the metro, but there is only one car and you may have to wait up to a 1/2 hour. The main problem is arranging for someone to pick you up at night. There are not enough cabs in Brooklyn.
Great comfortable, funky hotel. Second time we have stayed. Will return. Love Greenpoint.
The fire alarm went off around 1am for approximately 20 minutes on 2 of our 5 nights there.
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Car service was great and facilitated the location perfectly.
Lovely well appointed unit.
there were a couple of staff who were a bit iffy attitude-wise and unhelpful - as if they didn't want to be bothered.
location was convenient plus the hotel had a complimentary taxi service that took us to the nearby subway stations and picked us up. the drivers also went out of their way to show us round the area, Felix in particular. the rooms were great - clean, comfy, had everything we needed. facilities were fantastic - kept in great condition, looked practically new Christine, Felix, the manager, Oscar and one of the other taxi drivers (I'm sorry but I can't remember your name!) - they were the best! Helpful, responsive, went out of their way, always friendly and chirpy. Made our day! Thanks!
Our room was an exterior room, facing the street. The noise of the traffic in the morning was a little annoying.
We received a warm welcome from the staff. Felix showed us to our room. He did a fabulous job of making us feel at home right away. The room was amazing, bright, modern and clean. The driver took us to the bakery in the morning to get bagels and coffee. Grand Central station is a 10 minute walk and one subway stop away.
We found every aspect of this stay excellent. The staff were more than happy to assist with any queries or problems we had. The moment we walked in the front door we felt very comfortable and welcome. We would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling and wanting a great place to stay.
I really love this place! The hotel has good taste and the decor is amazing! It has a small kitchen, which makes me feel at home. The room is very big as well, I love everything there!
