Just a 5 minute walk from the Exchange Place train station, these furnished apartments with a full kitchen offer views of Manhattan and the Hudson River.
Score from 276 reviews Excellent
In a renovated paper factory, this Long Island City hotel features an on-site café. MoMA PS1 is just over 1 mile away. Air conditioning is provided in each modern room at the Paper Factory Hotel.
Score from 304 reviews Very good

Big rooms large bathrooms (had to ask for flexible shower head which was promptly given)
not enough mirrors!!!! Bridal party did professional make-upl and hair in a few of our rooms. NOTHING given to bridal suite for their 2 night stay. Wine? Chocolates? Flowers maybe?????
It's really cool
Nice hotel, cool decor and clean. Balcony was nice.
Although we liked the local area it was a bit of a pain to get home from different parts of manhatten and citibikes don't cover the area. Bridge quite noisy. Staff were helpful but not as approachable as we'd experienced elsewhere. I think hotel is overpriced.
I probably stay at the Box House a couple of times a year because my daughter lives in Greenpoint. The hotel is comfortable and convenient. When you arrive there's water in the fridge and tea and coffee in the kitchen. Can't say better than that. The place is absolutely spotless...
Two subway stops away from Grand Central and connection all over the city. Shuttle to the subway or a short walk across the Pulaski bridge. Great kitchen facilities
Bridge traffic noise if your room faces the bridge. Otherwise very comfortable stay for our family of 4
Great service all round. Seems like a strange location to start with but only ten mins to subway and one stop to Grand Central, so Manhattan very close. A 20 mins walk to Williamsburg which has some fab places for eating and drinks. The room was like a small apartment and having stayed in Manhattan on previous trips to NYC it was much bigger than any room I have stayed in there. The staff were excellent and the complimentary shuttle service a great bonus.
Well organised, friendly personnel, willing to assit you: this is the way you like to be treated in a hotel far away from home. Service has a lot to do with attitude, the attitude of the people in this hotel is great.
Nohting we can think of.
Decor, design of reception, hallways, rooms Polite, helpful staff 5' to subway, 5' more to Grand Central station
Main air conditioning plant outside bedroom window Kitchen sparsely equipped
I liked the atmosphere, set up of the rooms, comfort of the rooms and the decor of the hotel. I also liked the very helpful front desk staff.
I didn't that the hotel promised pick up and drop off, but the service was not available because the drivers were understaffed. At one point, we had to wait 45 minutes when we were told that the driver would be there in 10. We were supposed to meet another party to go to the airport, and they had a taxi already with the meter running. Another time, we had to return home walking through a very less than desirable neighborhood because there was no driver available even though there were three cars at the hotel. There seems to be a problem with understaffing.
The free shuttle for the metro station was very useful, the laundry is always appreciated in one hotel if you travel with kids. Big space tall roof, the kitchen in the room. I love this hotel
Every thing about the two bed room duplex except
Only the rest room and the bath where you need to go downstairs is not convenience.
No place in the bathroom for Your own stuff.
We stayed with 3 children (7-11) in one spacious room. The hotel is very calm, super clean, hip interior and has a very friendly staff. They offer complementary shuttle service that brought us to Williamsburg so that we did not need to walk. What a nice service! Great hotel, we will come back. Our kids loved it. Definitely worthwhile a detour from NYC. You can park your car right in front of the hotel, there is enough space on the street. Great.
we could never get the Wi-Fi to work. went to the front desk they did check on. but it never did work.
excellent customer service on offer will very courteous front office staff always willing to help. my family would love to stay here again!
Poor reception for cell phone in the rooms. Had to step out to take calls from home
Superb room advantageously positioned in a tucked away and quiet...while still very accessible area of town.
They called me and said my room was being up graded -by them-not But when I arrived no upgrade. This was weird being it was them who suggested. This very expensive lodging so nice it was almost worth the expenditure. But front desk kids too young and not up to task?Me.me.
a lot of value for your money. Very clean, light and large rooms for NY standard! I loved it!
The room was huge, clean, quiet, comfortable, with a full kitchen. It really is as it appears in the web site pictures. Plenty of room for a family of four (two kids, 11&14). Free street parking. Free shuttle to the subway. A fantastic deal for the NYC area.
It's in an industrial neighborhood, so there's not much to see or do in the immediate area. The black-out shades for the room could be improved (lots of light in the early morning).
The hotel is beautifully decorated. The rooms are nice and give you enough space.
We still prefer a hotel that offers the possibility for breakfast.
Many rooms don't have outward-facing windows.
Rooms this size for a Family of five with two separate bedrooms , a kitchen and a terrace with views on the Chrysler Building an the empire states ( albeit a bit in the distance ) is unaffordable in Manhattan . Though it is just a few metro stops away. Brooklyn is getting a nice place to stay, good alternative restaurants whitout the tourist trap from Manhattan...!
Christian the doorman/ driver was excellent. Front staff also were very helpful. Excellent facilities.
Room walls are a little thin. Incoming light from street lights.
Just a 10 minute walk to the subway which was only one stop from Grand Central Station. Also courtesy cars are available for short local trips until 10 pm at night. Fabulously appointed room with full kitchen. Extremely quiet room. Staff friendly and helpful.
The location looked a little "dodgy" but the fact that courtesy transport was available for local shopping or trips to the subway, put you at ease.
