The staff people were very friendly and attentive to guests needs. They had hot cider for guests in the lobby that was delicious! The 50% off for dinner at Daisey's Bistro in the hotel was a definite plus for a widow on a budget! I had the pepper steak and it was delicious, cooked to perfection! The location was great because it was near the trolly, the Chase bank, 7-11 store, and other restaurants. I was attending a business conference at the Convention Center and it was a perfect location! I'll stay there again in the future :-)

The most remarkable and impressive thing at the Bristol Hotel which I have not experienced before (and I travel a lot and have travelled extensively for years) was the personal and genuinely caring attention of Armad at reception.....his attention to detail was exceptional and lovely personal manner. I was traveling alone and wanted to return my rental car to the airport the night prior to my departure. Armad organized a taxi to meet me at the car rental company which was challenging for me to find.....and I did get lost that short distance and when I was in the taxi he phoned the driver to check that he had found me and collected me.

Front desk was helpful, always had a smile. The downstairs restaurant had great service & food. We sat at the bar. Also, the valet guys were really friendly. We stayed in room 402 & the smell when you walk into the room is not a pleasant one. I'm not sure if it's the carpet but it reminds me of when you Walk into an enclosed area with no ventilation. I payed over $200 for 1 night. Service is great but the room did not meet our expectations. I wouldn't stay here again for the price.

Great location, 5th street is very close and you can take a walk to the seaside (about 20-25 minutes). The staff is very friendly. Wi-Fi was great. There's some damage on the bath (room 301), but this didn't bothered us. Parking is not free,

Rooms were great, however lots of noise from the room next door. We called reception and they fixed it, luckily! Furthermore noice from the bus station outside, I had ear plugs, that was okay, so: do take these with you!

The staff was very friendly and the location was very central to attractions and shopping. The rooms however could do with a little updating, and the windows could be more sound proof, as the traffic and construction noise was a little distracting.

Apart from the mess with the reservation (see below) everything was neat and tidy. Wifi works, multiple devices. Not superfast but acceptable. Minibar is a bit overpriced, especially water. Better buy water around the corner, not sure whether they have a vending machine. What a mess with the booking! It really sucked. On arrival, the hotel claimed that there was no reservation, even though I got confirmation from booking.com. The hotel receptionist was not helpful in the first place, only after I asked for the manager they started to make a move and tried to sort it out. Originally I booked for 5 nights about two month prior to my stay, but changed the reservation about a month later to only 3 nights (arrival one day later, departure one day earlier). Obviously, booking.com confirmed this to me, but cancelled the whole reservation to the hotel, at least this is what the hotel claimed. I don't have prove who messed it up, I just can say that I had a confirmation of booking.com. They booked me in anyway (luckily the hotel was not full) and offered a room rate of appx. $85 excl. tax per night, which I happily accepted. Upon departure, I had $159 excl. tax on my statement. I certainly complained and they offered me finally $109 excl. tax per night. I had to accept this because I was in a rush. If you ever book The Bristol, just be ready to discuss pricing and have proof of the rate you agreed originally.

The hotel was very attractive with updated decor and everything was very clean. Their staff was very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel had excellent food and the servers were attentive, prices were very reasonable for the quality. My room was beautifully decorated with very comfortable linens and mattress. The room also had a large window withs lots of natural light, though it faced a wall which was fine as I hadn't asked for a view. The price was excellent for the quality of the room. It's only about 4-5 blocks from the GasLamp area which was very convenient for restaurants. I will be going back to this hotel when I travel for pleasure, as for a business trip it was excellent.

It is close enough to Gaslamp district, nice place to walk, do some shopping and dine. The hotel looks like it`s have been remodeled and redecorated its rooms and lobby which adds a plus to the stay. We also had dinner at their restaurant, not too many people in there, but we had a delicious meal and at a reasonable price. I would go back again.

It seemed odd that there was no fan in the bathroom. A bathroom fan is fairly standard these days and it took the level of niceness down a notch. We asked for a wakeup call the morning of checkout but did not receive one.

Great location on the edge of the Gas Lamp, close to the rail line, dining and shopping.Beds were very comfortable an they keep a very clean facility. Close to the rail line...make sure you get a quiet room and not one on the West side. The excercise room was very small and very warm, not much for ventalation.

Comforting, helpful staff, great for city trip, the location is great & no one can argue on that, many services are only few blocks away. We were unfortunate for having a room facing another building's wall. The gym is very very small & will never meet your expectation...but! If you do not mind these stuff, the hotel is your choice.
