Set on Shelter Island, along the San Diego Bay, this hotel offers a private marina, stunning views of the bay and enjoyable facilities, including an on-site restaurant.
Score from 791 reviews Excellent
I was in San Diego for a convention. The hotel was conveniently situated. Excellent room. Great staff. Top class room service. Would recommend and stay again...
Nice looking hotel in a great location. The bar downstairs was good. The staff was very nice.I liked the design of the hotel.
The pillows were terrible and the bed was too stiff. You can hear alot of street sounds due to bad insulation. That may bother some but I was ok. The walls are paper thin you can hear the staff cleaning.
- Staff - Bed - Room Service - Closeness to everything
- A little noisy on the lower floors
Great view from the room, lovely furnishings, a large shopping center with Jimbo's 10 minutes away, marina 20 minutes away... Highly recommended.
Sliding toilet doors would be a nice touch if they were not THAT heavy. I am a guy and I struggled with them sometimes - they may certainly be a challenge for a lady.
location Robes with slippers Decor Staff
The lobbr is well designed and comfortable. Our room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, too. The location is perfect---just a five-minute-walk to the Gaslump-arear(there are a lot of good restaurants),just a few-minute-walk to '7eleven'and just a two-minute-walk to a bus stop for No, 992 bus ,directly linked to the airport , running every 15 minute. Surprisingly, its price is very reasonable!!
Really good location, near gasalamp quarter and the seafront. Very helpful staff. Room was a good size.
Friendly helpful staff. Good location.
Noisey room... Lots of pipe sounds, creaking etc.
Really nice hotel within walking distance of gaslamp and convention center- great value!
I liked that it was clean, employees were nice, good price, located in Gaslamp.
I didn't like the area it was in, not as close to Gaslamp as expected, very loud at night. I didn't feel safe walking outside at night.
Front desk staff was great
The parking in the hotel is not free and it is better to park on public parking. The rooms are small.
I didn't like that their was no pool or spa. Also you can hear the other people next to you the wall needs to be better
New bedding, fixtures, etc. Lovely decor, great location.
No fridge or microwave, but plenty of nearby food options.
Nice decor. Comfortable Bed and nice linens.
Starting to look a bit dated. A bit rough around the edges. Noise from the street is bothersome. They provide earplugs, but it's not enough. Need double pain glass to solve the issue, I think.
Free upgrade, nice bathroom. Great location
Staff not overly eager to please. Had to wait unreasonable amount of time before checked in. There was no valet or bell boy to help with luggage when I arrived at 2am. The desk clerk was also the parking attendant. Thought he should have comped us breakfast for the long wait. Hotel was clean and beautiful.
We had a great large room. Hotel restaurant was great with a 50% reduction on dinner entrees for guests. Location was good - on edge of gaslight neighbourhood. Value for money was excellent.
No fridge in room despite a space for one.
Very good location at walking distance to gaslamp and very close to port and to Little Italy. Easy valet car park.
Special thanks to Ahmad in the front desk
No fridge in the room
Wonderful staff - friendly and helpful - comfortable beds, great location - walking distance to great restaurants. Will definitely stay there again.
Would have loved a coffee service for guests. Coffee maker in the room didn't make enough coffee for all of us.
Very good location.
Soundproofing is so bad, it is almost impossible to sleep while neighborhoods are talking or watching TV.
I have stayed at numerous hotels in San Diego. I had not stayed at the Bristol before but it will now be my preferred hotel. The rooms are roomy and well appointed with plush bedding, linens and even a robe. It's a short walk to the gas lamp district and little Italy. On check we were surprised to get $2 drink vouchers in the bar.
There's some train noise that might upset light sleepers but not me. The hotel provides ear plugs but we didn't need them. Many hotels are a bit noisy, especially in the gas lamp district (late night revelers). But this is far enough away that that was not a problem.
Great location in downtown San Diego; I attended the Paul McCartney concert and this hotel was perfect. Great food in restaurant and the room was quiet and elegantly decorated. I loved the bed sheets! Hotel staff was very helpful; I especially liked how they smiled and greeted you. It made my stay with my girlfriend that much more special. This is my 2nd time this year to stay at the hotel and do it again later this year for another ladies weekend!
