Great surprise downtown Chicago
I arrived late and was hard to find the garage entrance in the dark
Great view and friendly staff
This hotel had amazing views and a great staff!! I would stay there again!!
Location is a bit off the Mile but it's quieter and beautiful views. It's a nice change from typical hotels. I do a lot of business travel and I really appreciate the facilities and quietness. This has become my wife's and my favorite place to stay in Chicago.
Depending upon what you want the is either a plus or minus... note that this is a "limited" hotel and while it may be a bit tricky your first time with parking and getting through the building security the rooms and athletic facilities are wonderful.
1 min from subway station, in loop area, nice view at night.
facilities relative old
very close to downtown
Heating - cooling
the room was very nice. mini bar was also quite nice after a night on the town.
parking/lobby. when you arrive there is nothing that says the garage door is automatic. i didn't pull up close enough for the door to open on the first attempt. called the hotel and was given this info. once in the garage there is really nothing to instruct you as to where to go next. we couldn't get through the next green overhead door. the staff gave us verbal directions to our room. the elevator wouldn't open on the 39th floor. back down again. once on the 40th floor there is nothing to point you to the rooms. breakfast was terrible and dirty. no cups or glasses.
I think my English is worse but the waiter's attitude is good
No,everything is ok
The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous and clean. The view of Michigan ave was amazing!
It took me an hour to find the hotel because the hotel did not have a sign with the name.
The location was amazing! The staff - incredible! The price - side the loop - AWESOME!
Very nice rooms with a big comfortable bed. Continental breakfast during the week was very good with hot eggs, bacon, toast, etc. Staff were very friendly. Athletic club facilities were a nice perk, although I didn't have enough time to fully take advantage of them.
The building was very busy in the morning on weekdays as it is a fully functional office building that is part of the stock exchange. This wasn't too big of a deal though. Had to take multiple elevators to get to the hotel floor (top).
It was quiet. View of the Lake is fantastic!
Security arrangements drove me nuts, i.e, changing elevators, key swiping, too much going on unrelated to a hotel.
The hotel is pretty and has great views. The breakfast was great and the overall value you got for what you pay is great. It is at least a block away from the main shopping areas and a 30 min walk to the downtown core. But it's well situated in relations to the millennium park and the aquarium. There is also a metro right outside the door.
The staff weren't as professional or organized, but still friendly. I also didn't like the feeling that you are walking into an office building, especially when going to breakfast during the weekday.
Comfort of room and bed! Fantastic Views and quiet location. Workout facilities are amazing. This is really an athletic club with one floor of rooms so it does not have the typical hotel setup. Wonderful for a quiet get a way but not the best for business or families with younger children.
Parking and entry from the garage is a bit odd and initially confusing. No assistance getting luggage to/from the car. There is a parking area specifically for the hotel/restaurant but it seems to be open only for the restaurant. So, the parking is in a separate garage area and not close to the entrance of the hotel (let alone the hotel garage you can't park in but ha to walk through to get to the other garage). This is really an office building with the top floor having hotel rooms - this is plus or a minus depending upon what your expectations/requirements are.
I really liked how easy it was to get from the airport to the hotel. It is very close to the center of the city. We did a lot of walking the first two days, then purchased a pass for three days for all public transit. That helped for the cold wind in the evenings. Angela so was helpful and kind to us. She is a gem for this hotel.
Although the hotel was a little outside the center of the city on the south side of the loop, you had great access to the loop trains, buses 22, 36, and 151, and the subway blue and red lines. The views from the rooms on the 40th floor are fantastic. Our room was large and very comfortable. breakfast was great.
No complaints. Loved it there.
Thought this place rocks!!!!! Easy Blue line airport ( 100 ft from exit)) transportation. Wonderful Stafff, Very Clean !!! Amazing Veiws of Chicago. Heath club and pool with steam and sauna was awesome!!!!
Water pressure in shower could have been stronger.
Room-huge, clean, great view
our location was on the quiet side
We stayed in the buckingham suite. it towers over the entire city skyline in a monstrous suite. If you have to stay in chicago stay here, it's truly truly remarkable. and the gym is amazing, incredible facilities
small thing - the housekeepers were always going in and turning up music or movies in rooms they were cleaning and yelling and hollering at each other. Didn't affect our stay at all, just annoying. like a gnat at a barbecue
Athletic club amenities were great. Amazing 40 floor view of Chicago and lakefront. Large room, with spacious bathroom.
Somewhat isolated in financial district on weekend - very busy week days! Faucets looked old, and toilet kept running.
Great location, clean, friendly staff. The bonus was the breakfast complimentary (free) and the super bonus was the view from our room (40th floor), we could see the lake, the Planetarium and the Field Museum and at night the lights of the city, very beautiful.
To get to the 40th floor you have to take the elevator to the 39th floor then another elevator from the 39th to the 40th (it didn't bothered us)
Everything but price of parking.
Price of parking.
Amazing views. Very quiet. Only steps from Blue Line to airport. Good breakfast.
You have to be willing to change elevators a few times.
View is perfect. The location is good, close to both blue line and orange line. Bed is comfortable. Definitely will come back.
Breakfast is soso...but considering it's free, no more complaint.
