friendly staff and hotel security

Very inconvenient take 2 different elevators to get from lobby to room and same from room to lobby and then another different elevator to go to breakfast and pool. We had a very late check in and our party included two women one using a walker and one small child, the price of the room was showing $250 more than what it was suppose to be, so we had to spend extra time checking in and then not one person offered to help us with our luggage to our room. No available restrooms besides one in your room very very inconvenient for anyone let alone a disabled person with a walker and a child, have never experienced this in a hotel. Not able to get anything to drink or eat not even in the stores that were in the building, there was one soda machine in the hall of the building where the stores were at but it was not working

The Buckingham felt exclusive, serene, and sincere. The hallways even smelled delightful; vanilla and jasmine. Goose down pillow top bed and matching pillow. You didn't lay on it ...you sank into it. Staff was accommodating and proficient. Being as it is connected to the CBOE as well as it's feel , I describe it as a "traders" flop house (in a good way). Not you're typical hotel. The Buckingham is a sanctuary in the center of chaos. It is first on my list of hotels to stay at down town Chicago.

I had a wonderful view of Lake Michigan from my 40th floor hotel room. The room (and bathroom for that matter) were bigger than I was expecting. There was even a separate bar and separate coffee area which was nice.

The bathroom floor, handles in the tub could have been a little cleaner.

With its prime location, unique 40th floor city views (ask for north facing) and superb value for money I can hardly recommend anywhere else over the Buckingham. It's a class act. The Atheltic Club is a full on gym with excellent facilities, large pool, mens/ladies fab steam rooms & saunas and the gym equipment is vast with a view of the city. Weekdays the free breakfast is on the gym level and includes hot food which is a bonus - but on weekends is in the club room on the 40th floor and offers much less, but it's a small point.

The rooms, whilst large are a little outdated. Some may dislike accessing the rooms, which involves a keycard to access the building and 2 elevators. To get to the gym from the room involves 3 elevators.

Loved that it had a spa and hot tub. The view of the lake was spectacular--great walking location

Weird two stage elevator, go up one, get off at floor 39, switch elevator to get to 40th floor.

The hotel was amazing for the value, and the staff was very accommodating and willing to help with any questions. The athletic club was also very nice with a great amount of comforts and services.

Parking was quite expensive

Really impressive..once you get the registration figured out it was great. Will be back.

Loved it

Wow! I read many reviews and since most were positive and I love a view we took a chance. When we arrived I could not believe how convienent it was to get to the hotel on the Blue Line Metro from the airport. About 100 feet walking and you there. Then everything was so easily accessable with trains and buses. We had an unbelieveable view from our room. Definately something you would expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. You do have to take two elevators to get to the rooms, because the hotel has it's own elevator. It was not a problem at all! I couldn't think of one thing to complain about and I would definately return as soon as possible.

The only slight problem is they are working on the road, which looks a little messy, but that should be done soon.

Perfect for a first time trip to Chicago. The Rooms available, and the amenities that accompany it for the price, are well worth it. The staff were friendly, and attendants were prompt to help out if one had questions. The room, although a bit smaller, was perfect. Clean, organized, and comfortable. The room itself, contained a very comfortable, soft bed which made sleeping very easy. The room had a very large bay window overlooking the City, and Lakefront. A sight to see and something to really enjoy in the day and evening. A nice work desk, tv, and refrigerator were also available. The bath/shower was spacious and perfect. We utilized the swimming pool, and hot tub as well as looking into the exercise facility. Definitely well-rounded for even the most advanced fitness enthusiast. As for the continental breakfast, they served a wide-variety of hot and cold foods, and even took special orders if requested. Perfect for all-around purpose for the value of the dollar.

The transition of Elevators. To get to the 40th Floor (Hotel Floor). You have to take the Elevator that goes from 29-39. Get off at the 39th and climb onto another Elevator that goes from 39 to 40th. If you wanted to go the Athletic Club, you would have to go from 40th to 39th. Then 39th to 1st. Then another Elevator from 1st to 3rd Floor. This gets somewhat time-consuming/tedious when this is utilized enough.

It was very quiet and not at all crowded, the staff was very friendly and helpful, we were able to swim at the athletic club after we checked out of the hotel, and the athletic club was very nice

The breakfast was not that great (it was served on the 3rd floor); getting around the hotel was a bit cumbersome (but that's not a big deal)
