We felt at home immediately after arrival. The owner was so friendly and so kind-hearted. He helped us with excursions and was available almost the whole time. The design of the rooms and the area is great. The house is very old and full of history. We liked the location 10 min. walking distance from the French Quater. The Marigny Quater where the house is situated is quiet and safe. The breakfast was all fresh with bagles and fruit and lots of coffee and tea.
Nothing about this place was negative.
Eating in the morning with the other guests and the owner.
Quiet streets and a short walk to the Quarter, coffee house and good record store in the Marigny. Carl is a great host and full of excellent info.
Cozy little house a short walk to French Quarter. Carl was very helpful with directions and locations of interest. We would stay here another time.
The mattresses breeder to be thrown out as well as the pillows - bothe smelled of old body sweat. The breakfast needs much improvement. The same old rolls were reused all four days, the food items were the cheapest the owner could find with the exception of the fruit. Could use nicer dishes to exchange an inviting atmosphere.
The originality of the house. It is a original double shot gun house built in the 1800's.
Carl, the owner of the bed and breakfast, is originally from New Orleans. The house is authentic to New Orleans, and we were very close to the French Quarter. Carl is an amazing host and person. We were a day late arriving due to weather, he actually rented our room out for that night on our behalf and credited us!! That's Carl.
It needs to take better care of the bathroom.
The house itself and the surroundings
It is close to the French Quarter , the Tram and Bourbon Street. Carl booked and gave us his agents discount on several activities.
The place was super close to places like the Frenchman's Market and the French Quarters and great places to eat like Cake Cafe and The Ruby Slipper. Carl was nice and accommodating. I would stay here again, although with better traveling partners than I had on this trip.
There was really nothing we can complain about at all.
The location and the character of the house. Of course the information and patience of the host along with the great breakfasts were much appreciated. We were 3 over 65 women traveling together and felt safe, comfortable and well provided for at the Burgundy B&B.
Nice staff and Nice price:)
Carl was super delightful. The room was clean and quiet. We had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely come back.
Everything, Specially the breakfast with Carl and the other guests. Good recommendations about what to do and he give his agency discount on tours to us.
This was a good b and b located an easy 2ins walk from the heart of the French quarter. Wifi was excellent. Rooms were clean and tidy and Carl was helpful. We enjoyed our stay here :)
This is no reflection on the B&B but my husband and I were trying to find our way back to the B&B on our first night and we had our map and were approached by a few girls who told us if we did not put our map away we would be mugged. This is just a warning for anyone else to maybe use google maps on your phone other than the map provided by the B&B. Althought New Orleans is a fantastic place and so historic we are so happy we got to see it but we did not feel safe after what the girls told us so on our second night we got a taxi back to the B&B.
We were greeted by Ricky (Carl was out of town). He is an amazing host. Gave us a map and showed us where to go and where not to go. We stayed in the Blue Room and it was perfect for our two night stay, it was very spacious and very clean. It had an ensuite which again was extremely clean and fresh towels were also provided. There is an outdoor hot tup out the back which we took advantage of on our first night, however as it was very warm that night we did not stay in it for very long. Breakfast on both mornings was fantastic, selection of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cerals, bagels, breads, tea and coffee were made readily available. We had just come from staying in a 5 star hotel in Orlando and can honestly say the breakfast here at the Burgundy was way nicer. The B&B is located in a housing estate, the neighbours seem extremely friendly and the swing on the porch was lovely. We loved our stay at this lovely B&B, Ricky really made our stay enjoyable. Thank you Ricky
Easy parking, great access to Frenchman Street (walk down Royal), good sized quiet room, host has good advice about things to do in the city, great architecture in Marigny neighborhood.
Carl was so helpful with advice and tours. Room was big and comfortable and the location was fantastic.
Carl is a great host - very informative and willing to offer you suggestions about where to eat and spend time etc. Also the fact that he is willing to book your day trips and offer you his discount. I would most definitely return to stay again and would recommend it to any one.
It's close proximity to French Quarters, the complimentary breakfast....
The host was exceptionally cordial and my privacy was respected.
No issues at all
Carl was a great host, happy to help with trips and booking car rental. He provided a great breakfast :)
Beautiful home, great location, attentive service....hot tub! Also laundry available .
IT WAS A CLEAN, WELL LOCATED B & , WITH A KNOWLEDGABLE, FRIENDLY INNKEEPER...CARL!
All You (might) need is available. Good bed, breakfast, service and neighbourhood.
We had a very pleasant stay at the Burgundy. The owner Carl contacted us early to make sure we don't have any questions left. When we arrived we were welcomed warmly by Ricky who was a friend of Carl (Carl was out of town during the time we were at New Orleans). Ricky was the best host you could imagine. He provided us with a map and lot's of very good advices. He always cared about us and even send us text messages about upcomming events (e.g. a big St. Patricks Day parade), so that we were able to attend them. The room itself was very clean, comfortable and in a good and safe neigborhood. From there it was only a 10 minutes walk to the french quarter. The breakfast was also very good. Not at least thanks to the Burgundy B&B we had a very good time at New Orleans. When ever we come back to New Orleans we will again stay at the Burgundy. Thank you for the good time we had staying at the Burgundy, Robert and Kristina
