The beds were very comfortable. We did have a quiet room but heard from others that they had a noisey area. Very nice hotel. Close to Santa Monica Pier which was my attention. The floors were very dirty. I had to wash them myself or made sure we wore shoes at all times. I was told I was getting a room that opened to the beach but was told there was a problem with the reservation. I really didn't see any rooms that opened towards the beach. They did upgrade us and everything worked out fine. There was no a/c in the room but there were fans, Wish they had a pool, You have to walkdown stairs through a gate and cross a street to get to the beach but you couldn't get back the same way. You had to go around the block and get back into the hotel by the front. We wished that the gate could be opened with the hotel key.

Very friendly staff and great location. There was an oder in our room - probably a cleaning solution. Nice to know that they had cleaned but not a great smell to sleep with. Parking is limited - so if you don't mind walking to the nearby parking facility once the lot if full - it is not a problem.

The location is superb for the beach and Santa Monica town. You can get to the beach by walking down a flight of stairs. The price is fair for what you get and parking is £25 per night on the premises (if you find a free spot). Staff is young and helpful. The hotel needs some renovation, but overall has acceptable standards if you are looking for budget accommodation. Breakfast is included, but this is only orange juice, coffee and fruit on a table in the corner of the reception room. Rooms are quite small, queen's beds are too small for two people. We upgraded to the suite with 2 queen beds.

Not much! There was no heat or air conditioning, the safe for your personal valuables was locked and did not work, staff could not come to unlock at our convenience so we were not able to use this feature, room very small. One item stood ut as a safety item, an electrical outlet by the bath tub/shower that is not a GFI, hair dryer plugged into this outlet. I could see this falling into the tub. The hair dryer did not work. Most TV chammels sdcrambled. Basically a dump!!!!! I would not recommend this hotel to any person. I am considering reporting the electric code violation.

Wonderful beds, total comfort and excellence of things like bedding and towels. Comfortable room temperature day and night. Nicely decorated room, spacious, with nice windows and skylights. Quiet. Beach within view of our room and easy to access.

I liked the ambiance. And the beds were comfortable, and the location is perfect! The shower was leaky, no hot water, and we found dirty Kleenex by the bed. I felt I payed way to much for that experience. It was worth $100 maybe because of location, but not $170.

Best location in Santa Monica... The price is a little too spice for what it offers, if compared to similar category of hotels in the same area.

The beds were very comfertable with lots of blankets. Great location next to the santa monica pier. We walked over to Bubba Gumps on the pier for dinner it was so close. Im glad I read the reviews about the parking problem and the 25 dollar charge before I got there. It was kind of a romantic little place, It would be a good honeymoon place. We stayed in the junior sweet. 1 double bed with no tv in that room and no door. So more like 1 big room. I would not consider that a 2 bedroom. The parking was a problem so we parked the car early and walked everywhere. In the morning we had to wait for 2 cars to be moved so we could leave. Venice beach is way more then a mile walk from the hotel too.

I thought we would enjoy the low-key funkiness in this cute hotel, but it is actually being run as a youth hostel. Loud, noisy kids at 1 in the morning, howling and war whooping and banging on doors until until 2 A.M. There is one roll of toilet paper for 2 adults for a 3 night stay (you can get more at the desk). Towels the first night, but none (not even the used ones) the second... we had to ask the desk for towels and they finally brought them too late for us to shower before going out. Backpackers and kids are ok with this, and are used to the lack of toilet paper or towels. We left after two nights. Feb. 25 people next to our room came in at 1 A.M. and weren't just noisy, they were deliberately trying to wake people up with rebel war cries, banging repeatedly on doors, and howling. After a while they just shouted to each other, then settled down at 2 A.M. by slamming furniture. Lack of toilet paper and towels is a little uncomfortable but the usual offering for a hostel, so for a college travel experience, this is the place. BUT... these are not hostel rates, we paid $169 a night to stay in a dorm room. Would recommend to kids with a lot of money, but not to travelers wanting to rest. Front desk was apologetic and very nice, but this is not the place for a night's sleep.

Wonderful site, loved the arrangement of the suites as well as the plants and shrubs! Would most defintely want to stay there again. There was nothing that I disliked. Parking arrangements were not ideal, but there was nothing that the staff could do about that. Had little interaction with staff, so gave them a good. The gardener was a nice guy.

I liked how close to everywhere I wanted to go it was. The parking situation was dumb. They made us park on the street Saturday night. & we had to move the car so as not to get a ticket Sunday morning at 9am. The night guy could have kept our keys & moved the car blocking other guests instead of making us park on the street! He was not helpful. Being on the street side, traffic was a bit annoying.

Central location and size of the rooms. We booked a junior suite but there was plenty of room for our family. Good wardrobe size to put all of our luggage away. Breakfast was less than expected but you are so close to lots of different places to eat that it is not really a big issue. On site parking is limited.

It was awful. The room was not ready. The pillows were not changed. Guests in next room were very noisy at night. Breakfast was a complete misrepresentation: it consisted of pastries and rancid cofeee served by the consierge desk. We could barely suffer through the nigh and moved to Les Merigot in the morning.

The location was right next to the pier. It was filthy. The stairway leading to our room was disgusting; it probably hadn't been cleaned in months. I would never go back.

We had a wonderful if too short stay. This is a really nice hotel with lots of character and just a great 'feel' to it.The colours and 'beachy' theme are terrific. We'd be more than happy to stay again any time. Just one thing- the breakfast isn't good enough to be advertised- a continental breakfast suggests cereals, breads, pastries, etc- all we got were the pastries and we had to wait for those- and there was no juice at all- so I'd just advertise that a quick muffin on the run is available. It didn't sour our stay though- all very good. And the location is outstanding!!
