The hotel design, the location. We had a problem with our card on the arrival and they couldn't charge the card for 8 nights. We had to pay in cash for 2 nights and the following morning the problem with the card was solved so they charged us with the whole amount informing us that we could take the cash back.2 Days after we took our cash back they locked us outside of our room because we owed them 430 dollars more because they count on the cash we had paid! The only notice they sent us for this issue was a phone message the same day we were locked out and while we were away. They didn't even clean our room! And that was the second time we stayed at that hotel. And the last of course! They apologised for the inconvinience saying that this is the hotel politics and that they couldn't trust us.They never said that they were sorry!

The Carlton was exceptionally clean. This was my main concern, as bedbugs are a problem in NYC. However, we had NO issues here. The initial double room I had was very small and when I spoke to the staff they quickly upgraded me to a larger room at no additional fee. I would highly recommend that you book a larger room, unless you are travelling alone.

The hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and always right at hand. The hotel is very pretty, exceptionally clean, and in a great location. Our room was supposed to be a queen superior and while it was lovely, it was tiny, especially compared to other queen rooms we passed that were being cleaned.

Excellent location a block from the subway, with a 24 hour gym, free wireless in the rooms, nice toiletries and a Zagat-rated restaurant and cool bar. The standard room size is small and there is not really a place to open your suitcase properly apart from on the bed. But all in all great value for money.

Location was good. Beds were comfortable. 1. I think the internet should be free for all guests who don't bring PC'S. 2, Breakfast service poor - on our last day we were given the bill before we were asked if we wanted anything else. Generally, no one came for second helpings of toast or tea as part of the service if you just wanted toast - you were given two slices and that was it it unless you paid for additional tea or toast... 3. The plaster on the walls was peeling, skirting had dust

Only was nice peuple on reception, consierge and billboys....otherwise dont wort to pay approx.300-500 $ per night. I booked spacios double room...but when I enter I was shocked the room was very small and tiny. The toilet size its unbelievable small. The bed was very small, matrass and bedsheets was low quality! The breakfast is strange pure and expensive ( pastries and coffee) 12 % plus tax per person. The quality of food in restaurant is ordinary and expensive! Not good location for shopping. Saks, Goodman and all 5 avenue shops is far. It was not wort it to pay 400$ -500$ aver. Per day. During check-out it was charged 3 taxes.

The location was perfect for my meetings and a great part of town to explore. The wifi was great in my room and the hotel staff were very responsive. I would have like to have had a great cup of coffee in the morning in the hotel lobby, but did enjoy my morning runs to find it.

I love the hotel's ambiance, from the lobby, to the room, the bar and the restaurant were all great! A wonderful hotel to sleep in and to hang out in if you're want to stay in! The best drinks and food is excellent.

Walking into the entrance. The ridiculous 20 second rule on the tray of treats. "If the item is not replace in 20 seconds you bill is automatically billed" Are you kidding me?

that the room was large. the bathroom was tiny w/ a strange layout and the tub wasn't as clean as i would have hoped. Also for a big room it was odd to have a double bed instead of a queen/king.

The staff were nice and helpful. The hotel is a classy but relaxed place. Its location is perfect. The TV channels were blurred (I mean snowy), one of the lamps and the radio didn't work. The bathtub could have looked a bit fresher. No teasmade. There were no slippers for guests, which I think should not be the case in the otherwise definitely classy hotel.

The 30s lobby and room designs are very nice, and the molton brown toiletries add an element of luxury. The hotel allowed me to stay in the deluxe room I had been in all week with work at no extra cost.
