Plumbing issues with sinc and toilet. Reported the first day, still didn't get fixed.
After 9 PM there's only 1 person at the reception desk and 1 person who does the valet both for cars and luggage. The room service has an hour. We phoned at 10.30 for breakfast and they told us we had to order for brunch even if on the menu the breakfast hours for room service were till 11 AM. Same happened at night when we asked for 2 beers and they told us "go to the bar"..r u kidding me?!?! The view of the room was in the a.c. Pipes. I've traveled worldwide this is not a Carlton!..at least not in terms of service. Try to have this lack service at the Carlton in St Moritz, in London or in Milan. For us was not enough
Kant, one of the managers, is not good. They tried to charge me $200 for a phone call. And if I were not to complain, a lot, they would never have fixed the rate. So just for trying not to be honest, I don't recommend

Lobby, wide hallways, very quiet. Room and bathroom were well-designed for the tiny space. Loved the location.
The toilet was just two steps from the bed. I parked right in front, after the doorman told me it was free on the weekends. But I didn't realize I had to move before 7am Monday and got a ticket for $115!!
Great lobby, Lots of amenities, restaurant, piano bar, business center with free coffee all day, CLEAN hotel, subway a half a block away, spacious room, big bathroom, moulton brown products. This is going to be my go to hotel in NYC
We booked this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff was amazing, upgrading us to a king bed room and they sent us a bottle of wine with a hand signed card. They made our stay very special. We loved the hotel's location and its style. Overall an excellent hotel.
No coffee machine in the rooms and no coffee at the lobby
I had a nicely furnished large room with a very comfortable bed (executive king room).
Air conditioning makes the looby freezing cold. Breakfast is too expensive.
Centrally situated, a beautiful building and very helpful friendly staff. Was only staying the one night with my cousin and her daughter, but we all loved it. Clean,comfortable and the price was just right.

This venue used to be a beautiful stand-alone boutique hotel. It is now part of Marriott and the atmosphere is distinctly different. The building is tired and old, room amenities are poor, breakfast is not offered (only self-serve coffee) and the service staff appear to be over-worked/under-staffed and not highly motivated to provide good service......A disappointing stay....

The room was huge!
My son lives only 2 blocks away so I stay here often. Room service is excellent. Breakfast came in 15-20 minutes! I also like the pre-order option for room service that comes exactly the time requested. The luggage room is convenient when we checked out so we could spend the rest of the day (& night) in the city.
Spacious, comfortable room and excellent food.
We have stayed before and found their advertised "old world charm" to be in evidence. This time, the horrid loud disco music drove us out.
Phillip at the front desk was very helpful. He also upgraded us to a larger room which was beautiful, very comfortable, and had a beautiful, spacious bathroom. Phillip also recommended a florist that was fantastic and very reasonable. The breakfast was very good and fast service, and large portions. We loved the mosaic both in the dining room as well as the reception. There are many personal touches in this hotel that made our stay a memorable experience.
The elevators were a bit confusing, as there are 2 entrances and also the lobby is lower than the street entrance.

the room was clean. the bed was comfortable. the location was convenient (within walking distance to greenich village, chelsea). i loved the parisian cafe upstairs.
room service knocking on the door multiple times on the last day of my stay starting at a very early hour. they were very rushed to get me out. it was very agitating. i will mention that i did checkout on time. the bar was a terrible scene when i arrived back at the hotel late at night. very cheesy and not in keeping with the rest of the elegance of the hotel. i was also personally upset that the pool table was covered and not accessible when i arrived around midnight.

Overall, a good stay at the Carlton. The room was a good size (for NY) and the hotel lobby is very nice. There is complimentary coffee and tea.
The staff from front desk to the hotel bar were exceptional. It will be my hotel of choice when I travel to NY from now on.
All staff were very helpful. Specifically the porter on the entrance to the hotel.
They tried to charge for a meal that we didn't have. But was sorted out.
