Location and comfort of a small elegant hotel
only negative would be the small size of tv
Excellent staff handled any concerns. Great central location to all the hotspots. Had an awesome river view and everything was very accommodating.
Finding the hotel was a bit of a bear. Also, by the time we arrived, about 6pm, the on site parking garage was filled and only allowing monthly parking passes in. Not a terrible inconvenience with the amount of garages in the area, just figured since we had a room there parking would be available
The restaurant was quite good and the prices were excellent for the location on the river front.
It was very clean and well furnished
IMPOSSIBLE TO GET TO VIA CAB. literally spent an hour in an uber going in circles. Room was also VERY small for the price.
After reading mixed reviews we went in with little expectation. We were floored by the service of the front desk managers especially Pedro. The room was fantastic close to the heart of it all within walking distance to transit and great breakfast cafe right next to the hotel if you're traveling on a budget like we were. The perfect weekend away. We are hoping to make this our go to hotel when we return to chicago. The water stations on every floor were by far my favourite added plus.
Excellent location. Walking distance to Michigan Ave sights. Enjoyed water and in room Keurig. Friendly front desk staff
Carpet needs cleaning and/or updating
Everytime i stay at this hotel i get the river view which is really nice!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect if you're going to the pier or to a football game. It's beautiful inside and out and seemed very clean to me. They also have free water bottles and wifi witch I thought were very classy touches. I will definitely stay there again should I return to Chicago and will recommend to all my friends.
I honestly can't think of a complaint, I was very satisfied with my stay.
You can't beat the location of this hotel. It's right in the heart of all things Chicago and it's easy to walk to everything or a cab is a cheap ride away. The staff are amazing, friendly and accommodating.
The Wifi sucks. Bottom line.
Expensive Didnt get what we booked Shower didnt work
The location was great, friendly doormen, secure elevator, and the desk clerk Pedro was extremely helpful each morning looking up directions and going the extra mile. I had a photo taken with him so I remember his smiling face.
There isn't anything I liked it all.
We really like your front desk staff especially Tanya and I forget the other gentlemans name.
The only downfall was the fact that we had to wait 1 hr later than regualr check in becasue the room was not ready. But they gave me a very nice room 3802,What a view!!!
Location, comfy room.
Staff was good not great. When we asked about the complementary beverage and snacks they told us there are only beverages. So we headed to near by coffee every day. On the last day however, we found out that there is free snacks also. Elevators are really slow .Too much time to get one
Loved everything about the place. Really good room with a place to put luggage and plenty of space. The building is quite special and the location across the road from the river is fantastic. We don't always eat at hotel restaurants but found Bacino very good and ate there often. A bonus was the characterful history of the building.
Free wifi in the room. Nicely furnished, albeit small rooms. Free coffee and light continental breakfast. Free distilled water, refillable. LOCATION!
Room was pretty small, but had everything one would need.
Location excellent. Travelling as a party of three got two rooms next to each other which was good. Free water on every floor and visitors lounge great.
Full cost of holiday taken in two amounts from my credit card very confusing. Taxes etc not included in total price I got from Booking.com
Maid service was very good. I had a very good maid. Bottled water free! free use of a computer for internet access. Staff was very nice. Very comfortable bed. Nice and quiet.
TV did not work right could not even get NBC. The Door to my room was very difficult to open No ironing board in my room. A bit expensive for such a small room. I have paid less for a large one at the Hilton
Everything about our stay was enjoyable. Views were amazing as well as the great staff.
I had a small room but it was fine and sufficient space in the bathroom, there was chilled water available on every floor and free coffee and snacks on a lower floor. The location was perfect and in a quite exclusive area. It was easy to walk to all the places I wanted to visit such as the Art Institute. The bar and Italian restaurant was good and the staff very pleasant and helpful, particularly Gerard on the front desk.
i had a normal check in, but there was some complications with the couple in front of us. I was impresssed by how The River Hotel went out of their way to accomadate these people.
Liked the location and the view of the river from our room.
The bed was a little harder than expected. The handle on our coffee pot was not lined up with the spout, we called for another one, but never received it. The water dispenser in the hallway needs cleaning. We ate breakfast in the restaurant downstairs and our waiter seemed to be over whelmed. There was enough staff compared to the amount of people there to eat at that time. He finally got it together towards the end.
Great location on the river. Easy walk to EL station, downtown business district, shopping, Millennium Park. Short cab ride to great restaurants, blues clubs, etc. Directly next door to a high rise Wyndham at substantially reduced cost.
It didn't bother us because we weren't there to spend a lot of time in the room, but room was very small, maybe smallest I've ever had, but use of limited space was very efficient.
