Beautiful location on the Chicago River and seconds from Michigan Ave. Very convenient I booked well in advance for a superior room with a kitchenette which essentially includes a microwave oven and a bar fridge in a more spacious room which is perfect for a few days stay. On arrival late at night I was informed that this room was not available. I was given a very small but pleasant room with just a bed and bathroom. I was also given a breakfast voucher. While I was not happy to be told this on arrival, at my request, the hotel did move me to the room I had booked the next day. I can only assume that I was bumped the first night. Not a good start but the issue was resolved.

Best location This hotel is probably the best location in Chicago. However, the room on the upper floors need a total revamp. They are noisy as the windows are just a single pane letting in the street noise. The hotel was in its "neutral" state, this means no Air Conditioning. The hotel manager only alternative was to ask us to leave the window open all night. This is smack downtown Chicago not in Timbuktu. The room temperature was between 78 and 80 degrees which make it very uncomfortable to sleep. Ear plugs were necessary. As for the restaurant, its a low score especially breakfast. There are other restaurant in the area that are much better value with higher quality food.

Great location, nice view from the window, room where I stayed rather small, but sufficient for one person, comfortable and very clean, good connection between the ord airport and the hotel, Breakfast not included in price (I guess typical for the us), and only a la carte.

Great location!! Very comfortable rooms, plenty big enough, great view! We will come back - also like the restaurant downstairs - we have breakfast both mornings Parking - You should mention that you have a public garage next door. We also have trouble finding the hotel, you should mention that it says Charter Club on the signage,we drove around the block several times before we figured it out.

We loved the location,ease of parking and check-in. The lobby is beautiful. We loved the economy of space and euro decor of the rooms. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. The rates were reasonable and we received an upgrade upon arrival. The downstairs restaurant was also good with friendly and efficient service. This will be our go to hotel in future visits to Chicago. I had read reviews complaining about the size of the rooms. If they are smaller, one doesn't feel it because everything is so well organized and there is no wasted space. Loved the bathroom. We loved being able to walk to everything.The rooms were very quiet. Ours had a view of the river skyline and lower Michigan Ave. that was fantastic.

We loved the location and updated rooms. It was a perfect weekend to stroll and explore Chicago and the price of the room was so reasonable. We will return.

Location, Location, Location......this is our second stay at this hotel and I can say it will not be our last, the staff was very friendly and helpful, it is centrally located to the events and areas we wanted to go.

There were so many things that we loved about the River Hotel. The location was in the heart of downtown Chicago, so we were able to explore the area by walking. The room itself was beautiful and very well cleaned. Also, the staff was very helpful in directing us to places to eat, entertainment, and nightlife.
