exterior looked classy and vintage compared to newer designed hotels next door,I really liked hearing the jazz in the lobby when we checked in instead of "elevator music".the staff at desk were very friendly and professional. The hotel room was clean and bed linen classic white, nice bed.Room was nice and large. there was no garbage can in the bathroom and I found I had to make multiple trips out to the garbage can-for make-up removal etc.but that was probably the only bothersome thing I encountered.

The hotel is very quiet and clean. A selection of good restaurants are just down the road and you can catch the hop on, hop off bus across the road in front of the Hilton Hotel. Wasn't able to order a Mojito from the bar drinks menu because there was no mint! This was at 5.00pm and after a hot, humid day's sightseeing, it would have been a delicious way to cool down. The bartender didn't suggest an alternative. If it's on the menu, they should have the mint!

Liked the location, close to my business conference. Very clean, pleasant personal, breakfast in the dining area, was great. Service was supper. Wished the Chruchhill had a continental breakfast. It would have helped with the timeframe we had in the am.

Beds were very comfortable. Manager was accommodating. I called several weeks prior to my trip to make sure they had my reservation correct. They did, but upon arrival we were given a king bed (requested two beds) and told one could sleep on the pull out. We found friends and traded rooms then spoke with the manager. They made it right, but I shouldn't have to find someone to trade rooms with. The manager was good and so was the front desk.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. Room service wasn't over-priced. Of the few people I interacted with, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The "eco" sheets and pillowcases were a little scratchy. The service in the dining room at breakfast was really challenged - not enough servers for the number of people who wanted to eat.

Location of hotel related to public transportation and area restaurants Room appearance was not that of a 4 star hotel. Bathroom was very small with very old fixtures. Staff was professional but very distant (snob). Not worth the price.

Excellent room! The restaurant tables were a disaster. There were several open tables, but all of them still had plates and glasses from previous guest. Also, the bartender closed the bar early one night. Lastly, room service changed the menu...but not on the menus in the room.

The renovation of the lobby and the dining room is truly atrocious. This is a historic hotel and should not be filled with tawdry contemporary furniture and art. Stick to traditional art and furniture

Very friendly staff, good location - could walk everywhere and reach the metro easily. Someone had incorrectly posted my reservation, and at first, it did not look like I had a room for the night. But staff on duty fixed - very gratifying after a long, tiring day.

I usually stay at the Churchill; I like the charm, the small size. Rude staff; troubles with bill when I checked out; told to e-mail which I did and still have no response. Will probably no longer stay here

Staff friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Location excellent. Prices terrific. We will stay there again and recommend to others. Furniture in lobby looks good but needs to be freshened-up. Smelled old. New seat cushions needed in rooms in lounge chairs.

I liked the adjustable heat in the room. I was feeling a bit sick during my stay and it helped to keep the room warm. I had dinner one night at the restaurant downstairs and the ingredients did not taste fresh.

Great location and surroundings, aka Dupont circle Very unfriendly staff. They're very cold and indifferent. And the housing keeping is just terrifyingly horrible. Almost every time they either forgot to dump the trash, or forgot to housekeep like 1 hour late after I have called them, or they just poorly arrange the linens like I can manage that by myself that way already. Food is terrible and too expensive. To sum up, the way the staff treat customers makes me feel like it's not they're serving us, but we are serving them! And everything just cost so much to rip enough off you.
