Nice location, big suites, clean and good sound insulation
Pool was under remodelation
I loved everything about my stay at the Declan. It was clean, quiet, fun, exciting, the food was excellent, staff was amazing. I would recommend this place to anybody and I will most certainly be back again!
N/A. I loved everything. I didn't want to leave it was so amazing
a/c not working fridge not working staff don't answer phones long queue at front desk
No refrigerator no microwave , old stile tv and old furniture old bathroom
interior was amazing ,
our fridge didn't work , staff didn't offer to switch our room
Room layout; ample parking; location close to gaslamp district; free internet and printing
No plates or basic cutlery like teaspoons
Excellent location, spacious rooms and affordable prices
The lobby is in the 12th floor and you have to change elevators to go in or out
I will not stay here again until construction is complete.
Not being able to use pool, spa and gem.
The Staff was friendly and attentive. Clearly, much thought went into the interface between the hotel and the customer. The hotel lobby was a pretty good attempt. It will get better given time.
The rooms were dated, fixtures were clearly not redone. There is a lot of room for improvement.
air conditioning not working, refrigerator not available in one room, staff never answer phone calls, front desk always busy.p.arking on 11 floor
the couch did not have any support. When you sat on it you just sunk down into the couch. toilets OMG could you please get some grown folks toilets and take out the children's toilets.
We loved that the sleeping area was separate, so we could put the kids to bed and still stay up. The hotel staff was all great! You could text the Valet for your car. Maid service everyday and always came back to a clean room. To save money we did bring breakfast items and microwaveable foods. That cut costs a lot.
I didn't like that the cable was very limited. No REAL channels. Movies were super expensive. I wish someone or somewhere would have stated parking was 26.00 a day to self park and 35.00 a day to valet. Overall, for the price it was a good place. Not really "family" friendly. Pool was out of service and the walk to the other pool was about 2,blocks away. Although, that's not far. Its a little bit of a pain with 2 little kids. We will stay again, but due to the extra costs of valet, tip and approximate meal Costs of 50.00 per trip to the hotels Resteraunt which is abnormally small; we will do it kidless.
- good rooms - professional and polite staff - good lobby
- too expensive self parking
I like the style of the hotel , the location is too because is near to down town
The servise was so bad , when I came to do the cheke in , I entered the so late around 5:15 pm because they were cleaning the romms and I was putting the chek in on the websit between 12-1pm .
Location was good
I decided to get a room because it was my kids birthdays and they wanted to stay at a fancy hotel. The location was great but It took too long to check in and out. Only 1 person at the desk while the 3 others were walking around and greeting. The worst part is that there was only 1 person infront of me. Also, having small kids with me, I was expecting to use the pool when I got there they said it was out of service if I wanted to use the pool I could get a guess pass to the holiday Inn. No where in the website, on the confirmation email, or when I registered did anyone inform me. I found out when I got to the pool area. My kids were very disappointed.
We were pleased with the view from our corner room but that was about all that was good about this hotel.
Winding garage parking; beds not what we had requested; no mini fridge (although listed on website); no plug for bathtub; somewhat rude greeting when checking in; no restaurant or room service available and no dining locations close by the hotel. Very poor location.
Rooms are nice. Staff is friendly. Maids are friendly.
Pool was being renovated. Sofa sleeper mattress is terrible. Menu in restaurant is different then menu on internet. Website says within walking distance of Balboa Park. That's a little bit of a stretch.
Booked a 2-bed queen suite a month in a half, and when I got there they told me they were all booked up on those rooms, and that they would give me a roll away bed to make up for it at no charge. Ridiculous
When we got into the room, we put our perishables in the refrigerator. After a couple of hours we realized the refrigerator wasn't working. We were just about to leave and called down to the front desk to complain when we were informed that those refrigerators were being 'phased out' and if we needed one, they'd bring one up. I said we're going out for the evening so please just put it in the room. When we returned at midnight, there was no refrigerator. We were three friends needing 3 beds. I opted for the pull-out in the living room area. The bed was broken and unusable. I called downstairs at midnight and was told there were no roll-away beds but they'd check and get back to me. After 20 minutes I walked down to the front desk. The gentleman was very unsympathetic to my situation and offered to take $30 off the cost of the room ($379) I waited 20 minutes for housekeeping to bring up linens. I ended up sleeping on the couch with the metal of the frame poking through. The only good thing to this story is that in the morning when I complained to the manager he was very sorry and credited me $100.
The room was clean. If I needed to have a business meeting in my room this place would be great.
This place feels like it was something else before it was a hotel. An office? A condo? Not sure. It's a little different.
- Location - Clean
We stayed at the hotel 3 night. - No fridge. The staff promised to fix it, put didn't. - If you use the parking service they place your car in a car park down the road from the hotel. Not the one in the hotelbuiding. I recommend the self parking: cheaper and safer. - They should call it a apartment hotel, not Suites. - takes forever with the elevator system in this hotel... Not worth the money.
Very comfy bed
The attitude of some of the staff is appalling, the place is old fashioned, service awful. I arrived at 5pm to check in, after a long haul flight from London with long lay over. I was tired. I was told my bed wasn't made yet but it would be done soon. At 8pm (!!!) I queried again if my bed would get made soon and if I could have some bath towels please. The attitude of the lady at the front desk was a joke. No apology, a face on like thunder, her words were just a 'well, the linen truck only arrived 10 minutes ago, you will have to wait your turn'!!! At 9pm, finally, someone came to make the bed & I could get some sleep. Still no fresh bath towels, so I had to make do with the hand towels after my shower... The room was cleanish, but very old fashioned, and kinda 'brown' with stains on walls and carpet and some of the lights weren't working. Also, the TV in the bedroom wasn't working and I had no fridge in my room, despite having booked a room with one & paying for it. The following day I asked someone to fix my TV. An engineer came over three times, trying to fix it, but couldn't. This was during SDCC, when this hotel was charging an inflated room price of something like 4x the normal rate. I was really unimpressed. After two nights, I checked out. I asked the guy to take something off for the broken TV, and he was all 'did you tell us it was broken?' So I say yeah, and someone tried to fix it & couldn't. He then gave me the look of disbelief you'd give a child that had just told you a lie to get out of doing their homework. So on top of all that, the staff think you're a liar. Anyway, still no apology, not even from this guy, but he was oh so generous and took a measly $25 off my bill. Wow. I asked him to please call me a cab, which he said he'd do.
big room, very clean, the staff was very friendly, good working wifi
