There is a small window in the bathroom and a front door entry leading to outdoor grounds. The room is very stuffy with no proper ventilation or A/C. The outdoor daytime temperatures were high 60's to low 70's during the day. The thermostat had been previously set at 68 degrees but I never lowered it since the room temps never reached below 77 degrees, even at night. I did not receive the same benefits as other guest reviewed. The desk clerk was pleasant- at times. I was not offered anything upon arrival. No wine, no food, no snacks. My son and I happened upon snacks (much enjoyed by my son) in the dining area when my son and I went to investigate the grounds and where breakfast would be served the next morning. We found a few assorted, mixed nuts, crackers and m&m's (purchased at Costco) Even then, I didn't know if it was OK to take any since the option was not presented at check-in. I'd never used a Jacuzzi tub and thought I'd clean it before use after reading other experiences only to find dozens of floaters in the water when the water emptied from the ports into the tub. The management should provide a screen with handle to scoop up the particles. It's my understanding that the property changed hands a year ago, so it's possible each guest doesn't receive the same treatment as they did with the previous owners. I'd go back during the off-season to avoid the heat from the rooms in the summer and families with dogs during peak summer and winter ski season.
I arrived with my 7 year old son about 3 pm on Sunday June 14, 2024. There is a (glass) front door leading to beautiful, outdoor grounds and the main lobby. We were excited upon arrival to see what was described above and a nice room with Jacuzzi tub and separate, large, walk-in shower. This was one of the less expensive rooms, close to the lobby, with bed and bathroom on the lower level. We opened the door with a real house key to find a very clean room, with well appointed, massive bathroom, Jacuzzi tub and separate (very large) walk-in shower. There was a tray of snacks awaiting on the desk when we arrived. We enjoyed the fact that we could open the curtains and enjoy the beautiful grounds or walk outside to relax in the yard. There were very few people staying the evening of June 15, 2014 so we didn't experience the problems other guests encountered in their reviews; barking dogs, thin floors and noise from the upper level. It appeared that we were the only guests without dogs (all very large breads) Breakfast was so-so, but adequate with orange juice, milk, pastries, toast and coffee from one of the Krueger coffee makers where you put in water and coffee pod. I'd recommend Deerfield Lodge for the location, nice room, beautiful grounds, relaxed atmosphere and to close friends who might want to take a pet (dog) I can see how too many guests with dogs would make the stay unpleasant. Overall, this is a beautiful property.
