The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room clean and quaint. The bed, in particular, was extremely comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was a lovely addition to a wonderful stay. I would gladly stay again.
The price was high, but understandable given it was summer and it's a popular location to visit.
Great breakfast, filled us up. Good sleep as nice and quiet and dark. Lovely area to sit for breakfast outside. Fridge to chill wine and water. Plenty of hot water and good shower.
Room wasn't thoroughly cleaned whilst there - bins weren't emptied and towels not changed or folded. Bed was half made. Quite expensive. Odd that no key for either front door or room doors.
We found it easy to walk into town or get on the bike trail from the Inn. A beautiful Inn with a beautiful yard and gardens and most magnificent huge old oak tree. Owners and staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back there again.
Our friends had a lot of luggage, and took a taxi to the hotel & back from the ferry since we didn't have a car. With a car- no problem!
Charming B&B right off of Vineyard Haven downtown. Despite the hustle and bustle of Vineyard Haven, the grounds are very quiet. Breakfast was excellent and Taylor, the B&B "assistant" was great to talk to as he brought us our coffee and food. Lexi the inn dog is very friendly and adds to the fun. Our room was comfortable. We utilized one afternoon as down time - as we had been driving the island for two days straight from end to end. Again, the room was very quiet and provided us with a wonderful rest from our busy jobs and city life. We would recommend The Doctor's House to anyone wishing for a comfortable stay. Keep in mind that this is not a five star resort with waiters bringing umbrella drinks. It's the Vineyard and this is classic Vineyard/Island living.
No complaints at all!
The breakfast was excellent! We ate on the porch with a view of the well kept grounds. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. The hostess and her staff were very accommodating. We certainly will return again!
This was a lovely B&B. Good service, delicious breakfast. Clean. Decent location.
It was a bit regimented as to breakfast dining hours and the owner was bit aloof.
Taylor was resourceful and very helpful. The breakfast couldn't have been better. I was very surprised that everything went so well. I would have liked an earlier check in. Other than that I enjoyed my stay and would come again and recommend.
Late check in time.
The location was great, and the inn itself is charming.
The bed was advertised as queen size, but it was actually a small double.
Breakfasts were superb. The owner is a former caterer. The 250 year old Black Oak in the yard is stunning as are the turkeys that sleep in its branches.
A perfect guest house in a perfect location. So peaceful. Fantastic hosts, they welcomed us into their home as if we were family. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast served on the verandah. Couldn't have been better!
There wasn't anything we didn't like. It was all great.
We loved the staff, the grounds are gorgeous. If you love gardens you will appreciate this! They gave out bicycles and I got a bike that is better than mine at home!! Lock and helmet all included. Breakfast was gourmet and large. No need for lunch! There are many cozy and large common spaces and the room was also awesome.
The showers were very hot and the pressure was nice. There was no street noise. The backyard was pretty.
The host was not friendly or helpful. We were not given any type of tour or given any info during entire stay. We were not given the wifi password, I did not see bikes-nor was I told where to find them, not told where mini fridge for guests was located, the website said board games-umm where? bed was noisy and not comfortable, cat hair all over lower level of house and both my husband & myself had allergic reactions. The breakfast was just ok and changes to our order were ignored. Oh, and the bacon was microwaved-not good. And don't think because the website says fireplace in your room you can use them, cause you can't. And when we used the living room fireplace-the owners son walked by at night and said "who are you!" We were like-umm we're staying here, who are you? It was so odd and made us feel even more uncomfortable there. Overall, you get the feeling the people that run this place just want your money and don't want you to bother them or spend time relaxing in the home. We've stayed at many b&b's & had a wonderful experience. This was the worst b&b experience ever and I would never go back even if it was free. There are plenty of other - better places to stay.
Beautiful house. Quaint decorating. Very clean and private. The innkeeper really gives you space and makes you feel at home. The house smells lovely and the breakfast was awesome! Room was very clean and relaxing!
It would have been great to have an area in the home (doesn't need to be in the room) with a small fridge to store wine, etc. Also mugs for the keurig and extra wine glasses and corkscrew out would be perfect. The innkeeper lent me her wine opener, but the night before I didn't have one and would have liked to open our wine. Minor details, but these do make a nice impression when provided. Please understand that this would NOT stop me from returning. Just a little tip to make guests more comfortable.
Great breakfasts Comfortable room Well maintained Pretty setting Convenient to town
Great location, peaceful and relaxing, breakfasts were awesome, helpful advice for touring. Hostess very hospitable. Beautiful grounds had interesting animals, like a deer, wild turkeys and a rabbit.
Rooms lovely but were upstairs, this might be a problem with anyone with mobility problems.
locks might be nice addition. No problem however
The Inn was well maintained and the staff was very friendly which made it feel homey. Amazing breakfast and great location to walk into downtown Vineyard Haven quickly.
I haven't stayed at bed and breakfasts before, but the individual rooms didn't lock from the outside when you left for the day which I didn't love but overall we felt safe there so that is what mattered.
1. Excellent hostess and staff 2. Great location and surroundings 3. Facilities
Cute house Friendly Staff
I booked at $250 per night I was charged over 300 per night. I will have to dispute charges through my card. There is no clear receipt.
