Score from 623 reviews Excellent
Staff was great. Hotel is clean. Service was good. Room decor was modern.
Extremely noisy location. Stayed 3 nights and was wakened several times each night to screaming, partying, loud music, beating drums, honking horns, even an extraneous trumpet player at 3:00 AM. Restaurant was extremely cramped. The tables were way too close together. There were six tables located in a space just big enough for three. Had to text my wife (across the table) in order to carry on a private conversation. Would not stay here or dine here again and I don't recommend it to anyone else.
Everything! The concierges were especially helpful and friendly!
Three of us in the room would have liked more coffee but maid told us only allowed one. The lounge entertainment was so so.
Did not like being approached as soon as we arrived to participate in a time share. Really did not need to go through that.
location large corner room, very comfortable, concierge/staff on 14th floor most helpful, and knowledgeable about the city and attractions.
noise from streets below, partgoers, sirens all through the night, and from fellow travellers/guests in the hotel , who partied until 3 am , the football game between the 49ers, and Los Angeles dodgers was on during our stay and I think many supporters had booked into the hotel for the weekend.
Room easily accommodated our family, essentially 4 adults.
More crockery and a toaster required. Easier access required to the Hot tub etc.
Employees at the counter are very helpful. She gave us vouchers what is available in town.
you have to request new towels if you need it. it should be replace every day.
No breakfast facility, but there are many bars in the area around
very very helpful staff especially peter at concierge, very good location walking distance to union square
the quality of wifi shower water not so warm
We felt the room was first class, quiet and clean. It is in a great location with a good choice of restaurants.
Valet parking makes it difficult to use car for short periods.
Location, fair price on a holiday weekend, friendly and helpful staff
We booked a room with a sofa bed and a king bed specifically for 4 guests. Up on arrival, the sofa was not prepared and only three sets of towels were provided. On request, the sofa was prepared, but they did not bring another towel.
Helpful friendly staff. Excellent location. Spacious rooms. Kitchenette - handy when traveling with baby. Crib readily available. Concierge organized airport pick up for us including infant car seat. (Instant)Tea, coffee and hot chocolate available in club room. Gym open all night.
Some areas could do with a refresh (eg bathroom). No breakfast facilities.
Downtown location close to transit and Union Square stores. Staff generally friendly.
Not a great neighbourhood after dark, made less desirable by lax hotel security. Can walk into lobby and up to spa change/shower area without seeing any hotel staff. No access cards required. Rooms by elevator very noisy. Hot water pipes screech every time someone in adjacent rooms takes shower. Hotel charges extra for maid service and for coffee after first pack. Light in rooms is poor and switches are awkwardly placed. Concierges are not knowledgeable. No consideration of women travellers in equipping bathrooms. Housekeeping needs improvement, with bugs in bathroom and kitchen area which had cobwebs and cocoon.
Excellent room facilities.
Cleaning / coffee facilities of the kitchen area could have been been better.
Easy walk to Union Square and Market Street. Desk and Bell staff are very friendly and helpful.
good sleep, good bed
I stayed in Donatello for two recent , paid by visits to San Francisco, but never actually saw bill, only going by what was deducted from my card. They were to email me, but they didn't.
The location of The Donatello is perfect. Just round the corner from the cable car, Metro and bus stops. Westfield shopping mall within walking distance. Walgreens around the corner good for essentials. The kitchenette was a bonus, we were able to make coffee and have breakfast at the hotel. No kettle though, used the microwave to heat water! Really comfy bed. Staff were helpful.
Beware of 'free' breakfast phone call! It's a sales things trying to get you to sign up to hotel deal.
Value for money - very low. Old, needs refurbisment. Next time I would stay at West Inn or Marriott near Union square. Do not get misleaded by the very high review scores, like we did!!!
All the staff were perfect
Location (Union Square, pretty close to everything you want to see), helpfull staff, big clean and confortable room.
no breakfast facility, but no Hotel in San Francisco offers it. Besides there are many nice coffees around (e.G: STARBUCKS).
Concierge in the club were very helpful location was convenient
Lounge and terassace on top floor. Also location is good. Payment for parking contributes to a negative impression.
Payment for parking contributes to a negative impression. Also, hotel is overpriced compared to standard. Need some upgrading
