The only thing I liked about The Drake is the location. 1. The room was too small and there was no dresser to put clothes into or to place things on top. 2. The air-conditioning unit in the room was extremely noisy, especially when it turned on and off evey few minutes during the night. I averaged about 3 hours of sleep the three nights I stayed there. 3. I was very disappointed that there was no Wifi in the hotel at all and the price to use the internet at the business center was outrageous! 4. The price of breakfast at the restaurant was ridiculous - $10 for a bowl of cold cereal!?!?! Definitely NOT worth what I paid for this hotel room!

The design and architecture was a throw back to the 1920's. It was luxury of a different era. Other guests commented on the tiny sofa's in the elevators, too. I wish there'd been a ghost! The free, live entertainment was not old-world though...the place was rocking! I even caught a few of the staff subtly getting into the groove ;) The hotel is at the north end of the bus run, so if you're planning lot's of sights, shopping, and clubbing you'll need to plan for the extra travel time.

We liked the fact that we were close to Lake Michigan and close to shopping. The lobby was very nice. The afternoon harp music was a very nice touch. Met some of our basic wants/needs since we did not plan to spend much time in our room. Service from our concierge was outstanding! The ambiance of the lobby outshined the rooms. Lax in housekeeping department.

I enjoyed the architecture and historical significance of the hotel. The Drake is a full service hotel with restaurants, gift shops and, live entertainment. The location was close to great shopping and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable and the lobby lush and elegant. I don't have a complaint.

We live in Chicagoland, but this was a surprise for my husband's birthday. The staff was amazing at helping me pull off the surprise. Rooms are spacious, clean, and elegant. Thin walls. Our neighbors had a fun morning just when I was hoping to sleep. I recommend the experience, just don't plan on sleeping late.

Stayed at The Drake in 1986 with friends and continued to choose The Drake for many stays over the years. This was a special stay - our 55th wedding anniversary and it turned out the way we wanted it. It was perfect!

Atmosphere and location were very good. Some staff members displayed a poor service attitude (little motivation to solve customer problems). Not very common for a hotel with this standard. Internet was excessively expensive, should be included.

Great old- world hotel, with all that you expect at this price. It's not hip, but confident in it's style. Two minute walk to Hancock Observatory and beach. Stay here with your parents.

The Drake Hotel, listed as a National History Place and the best possible location to visit Chicago. Right on the Magnificent Mile, Oak Street Beach and within walking distance from the South Loop, Lincoln Park and other historic neighborhoods. Very good service and facilities are available. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed. The Real Chicago ! Book your room with breakfast included or this can become expensive. Don't bring your car to Chicago, you don't need one and parking will be expensive as well.

I liked that I could walk to the places I wanted to go. I called ahead to ask for directions for parking. I was told I could turn right on Walton. I could not. The parking attendants were rude. Resorted to valet parking. I asked for a bathroom. I was told by the concierge that she would look into it. Never received a response. I would not stay at the Drake again.
