The Driskill  

Was there for business. The Driskill is a beautiful hotel that is centrally located to the sxsw action. Also, like the quirkiness off the "haunted floor". Definitely not the usual sterile corporate chain hotel.

Clean room , with confort and beautiful decoration. In the heart of 6 th street , walkin distance from restaurants , bars..

Room 427 looking at the AC compressors downstairs excess noice. Ask to change and end up 533 with the hallways AC unit above the door. Offer to change again , but settle for ear plugs. For $325.00 a night I think I should not had to have this issue. Yes you are a landmark , but price is pretty modern...

The food

I saw a baby cockroach in the Driskill Grill restaurant while dining there. :-(

Historic significance. overall atmosphere and convenience to downtown shopping, university campus, and food and music venues

Rylin (the concierge) was an absolute "model employee" for your hotel. As a business owner myself, I truly valued the positive attitude and work ethic he displayed every day we spent at the hotel. To put it simply, he was phenomenal.

I love the beauty and history of facility. Location is ideal.

So cozy despite the fact that it is an upscale hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Even though there are other hotels in the area comparably priced, I chose to stay at the Driskill because it is a historic and unique hotel.

Having to use valet parking. It was not easy to get something from your car you forgot to take with you.

Beautiful historic building, top-notch staff, lovely room.

You are charged for small things like bottled water in the room, and the parking fees were high.

The plugs in the bathroom need tightened. Room 1008

Everything............. except for the very very squeaky bed!!!! I was with my daughter. If I was with a guy I would have disobeyed the noise ordinance!!!! U really need to use some oil on those springs! Every time we turned over it squeaked and woke us.

Clean, beautiful historical hotel, unique rooms, nice bar, great food and close proximity to downtown.

Very slow Valet service when car was needed. Upon check out the front desk offered to set up the car pick up so we agreed. When we got to the valet station we asked if they got the "call" and they said "the car is on its way". After 40 minutes of waiting we noticed our keys on the desk; they had not even taken our keys to go get it yet.... And no apology either!

Good location for the main events in Austin Texas

Everything was in addition to the room charge. No tea , coffee in room

The historical ambiance. Texas shaped waffle. And softest sheets.

Watered down bar margarita.

The decor was outstanding - a real feast for the eyes. I also loved the location

Our dinner at the hotel was less than stellar. The menu seemed a little skimpy. We ordered appetizers and they were pretty good, except for the nachos, which were stale. They did not charge us for them but that meal was a little disappointing. However, our breakfast the next morning was quite good.

I really liked the atmosphere that the Driskill hotel. I was also amazed by the history with regards to LB Johnson. My colleague from Austin was telling me about the history and I thought that it would be good to put out a little sign with regards to the history. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. I like that each and every employee that I met had a smile on their face. There was the Pecan Festival that was happening during my stay, which made is a little noisy at times, but overall the hotel is not only clean, convenient to downtown Austin, but is definitely has it's own charm and can easily compare to the upper end hotels in Austin.

Perhaps the lighting was a tad bit low. And if there could have been a forewarning of the elevator, that would have been nice. Overall no bad things about the Driskill.
