The Dupont Circle Hotel  

Everything was great, we liked the hotel and the staff. The concierge was very helpful. It is just few minutes walk to subway, bunch of restaurants (Levante was the best), book stores and salons.

What was really discouraging and maybe even embarasing about this hotel was its bathrooms. Transparency in its worst way, if you are staying with someone you need to ask her or him to stay further by the window so that you may use the toilet, the doors are so transparent and reveal all the sound from the inside (you need to leave water running so that your partner wont hear what exactly you are doing there) :(((( All in all this was the only disappointing factor during all our stay.

Well located right on Dupont Circle. Very close to all that Dupont Circle has to offer and the reliable Washington Metro system.

The wifi internet service for the rooms is unreliable. Reception palmed me off to a call center who of course were unable to fix the problem remotely. I was using standard equipment that worked perfectly in the lobby but would not work in my room much of the time. There was no care, responsibility or follow up for this serious problem. From the discussion with the call center I have the impression that the quality of the wifi depends on which room you are in.... which of course is inherently ridiculous. The installation should support all rooms with first world style wifi as I find at every other hotel around the world. I was there for business for 5 days and this was a constant headache. It was made clear to me at reception from Day One though that they did not care and would not take action other than the call center routine. That's why there was no follow up. Avoid this hotel if you wish to undertake normal business activities using wifi. The final sour note was on departure when the doorman tried to get me into a limo for "same price" to the airport as a taxi. I said I had no time for delays as he chatted on his cell phone to various limo drivers. It felt like a commission scenario. This significantly delayed me. Finally in frustration I went out onto the streets and hailed a cab for myself. All round shabby service. Oh and limo was going to be $65 to Dulles, plus tip. I got there for $45 plus tip in taxi. Same price? That's the kind of service you can expect from internet to doorman. Not worth the risk.

Very attentive, professional service at every point.All the staff is courteous, well-informed and succeed at making even trivial transactions (where's the nearest FedEx;? Go down by the Krispy Kreme and make a left ... ) personal. The heated floor in the bathroom!!

I checked in at 4 pm--was a little surprised that my room was 't ready. But the lobby was a pleasant place to spend the half hour while that was rectified.

The location was superb. The shops, park, coffee shops, restaurants, and metro entrance made this a spectacular set up for us.

Music in the bar was way too loud.

Convenience of the location, quality of the dining. This is my fourth stay at this hotel.

Wifi connection very sketchy.

Very convenient location. Good room, good shower, good sleep quality. Welcoming staff, easy check-in/out. Free wifi in room and lobby. Professional hotel.

The bed was superb as was the loo and the heated floors. Location is excellent as there are many fine restaurant options within walking distance, ditto for shops and casual eating.

Parking overnight was very overpriced. Look elsewhere to leave your car - as we will when we come back - Metro is the best idea.

The location of the Dupont was absolutely perfect, I loved the cosmopolitan vibe and going down to the bar at night and watching locals and visitors alike mingle. The rooms were very well appointed, clean and great value for money. It is very much an urbane, boutique hotel in a vibrant and cultural city. There is ample choice for dining in the area and is very close to all the major attractions and the metro is less than a five minute walk away connecting you to everywhere in the dc area.

I booked a double bed room for two of us and it was very tight - tastefully appointed and very comfortable bedding but tight. It is also rather noisy in the early evening and morning with traffic in the circle, however I did find that it died down for the most part later in the evening. I was also mildly irked that while there was a fridge in the room there was no way to place your own products in the unit (it is constructed in a vending machine type way).

Great location. Modern and clean. Bar is a hot spot for young professionals.

Staff was very professional. Modern, cozy room design. Free WiFi. Nice bar-- view of dipont circle at night. Close to metro and restaurants.

I like the location, the services and the rooms. The beds are really comfortable.

Don't understand why midweek (Wed/Thur) prices were double the weekend rate! The doormen and valet staff were the highlight; all very helpful, charming, knowledgable and all too willing to help but in an unobtrusive old world kind of way. The bar and breakfast venue were a pleasure to experience. 5 star service at street prices. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Dupont Circle to any of our friends - but first we would warn of the midweek rate hike!
