Close to Newbury and Boylston Streets. The hotel was quaint and felt like part of a neighborhood rather than a big eye sore. Kevin felt like our personal concierge…excellent service! Thanks Kevin!!!
Although my husband and I loved the quaintness our 16 year old boys weren't as impressed.
location and suites
Great location off Mass Ave & near to Newbury St. 100m to T-stop Hynes Convention Centre
Breakfast not included in hotel rate
staff small size of it lobby was like a jewelry box location neutral colors in room marble bathroom iron entry and porters--so nice concierge very friendly and helpful housekeeping staff very friendly
king size bed--too big! ;-) though we appreciated the upgrade! shower kinda narrow but funky
The restaurant staff was no attentive for breakfast.
Love this hotel
Wish there was late room service. Get in really late usually and haven't eaten...
Location of this hotel is ideal for Back Bay area which has a variety of shops and restaurants.
It's location. Size of the room and the beds were amazingly comfortable
Love the very personal service and small luxury hotel ambiance.
The bathroom needs updating - minuscule tub and shower space. Also a queen bed just won't do for us ----
Location, staff and quality of rooms were excellent.
Would have liked to use the Keurig in the AM, however it hadn't been cleaned in a while and was dusty.
Professional staff Quality accommodations Hospitality
A little noise from the room next door.
If you come with children do not go to one of the restaurants in the hotel, far too expensive and no dish suitable for children. All the rest is good except it is not very well insonorised and quite noisy.
We loved the separate bedroom with a full set of double french doors, which opened to a gracious & inviting furnished living room area. The living room was beautifully designed in coordinated fabrics & paint. We also enjoyed a large flat screen tv. Our Suite was immaculate & fresh. I would definitely go back to the Eliot on our next leisure or business trip!
I loved everything!
Location and good breakfast
Expensive hotel in comparison to similar hotels in other cities. Parking at extra cost also expensive
I stay at this hotel frequently when visiting Boston. Usually the service is wonderful and amenities perfect..
This was not the case my last trip. There were no coffee cups in the room except for one that had someone else's coffee in it. Room service meal was horrible. There was no bottled water in the room, even in the stocked bar. I complained and after telling them I had no intentions of paying for the horrible dinner, they reluctantly credited me for the dinner. It was a disaster and I would not stay there again.
Great building with reasonable facilities in a great area of Back Bay. I got a very bad cold and was laid up for two days, good job the hotel is very comfortable and it had nothing to do with me catching cold.
I got a very bad cold.
Hotel is in a perfection location, very friendly staff and very clean.
The constant loud noise of the A/C fans outside our window on the first floor were bothersome. Also, the safe in the room wasn't even bolted down.
Location, proximity to shopping and dining. Made us feel like we lived in the swank neighborhood surrounding the hotel. Understated elegance. If JFK and Jackie O were alive today, they'd love it too. Yes, it's that good.
Not one issue or complaint. Worth a trip back to Boston!
Staff was extremely accommodating and very helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay pleasurable and easy.
Beds are short. I am 5'5" and my feet were hanging off the end of the bed!
The staff was really nice & helpful.
This is an OLD hotel with paper-thin walls, constant running water noise in the walls, TINY bathroom w/NO storage, creaking doors. Windows won't open. A/C noisy. For over $600 a night I expected better. Valet takes 30 min, cost $42, & is closed 12-7. There's 1 space at the front door for check-in or pick up or drop off. Never again!
location was good. Quality of room and facilities. Nice area for shops and restaurants. Safe area.
Location excellent, rooms large and clean
After checking out at noon, returned to hotel to collect luggage at around 3pm was unable to get even a cup of coffee as bar did not open until 5pm and no other facility available. Was directed to bar across street by staff, however weather was awful. I feel the staff could have been more accomodating
Lovely staff, great location
Decor a bit dated, a lot of wear and tear
The staff was very helpful and nice, we were bumped up into a suit for free. The suit was amazing! It had everything we needed, the beds were super comfortable. Although the hotel is not located in the city center, it is quite close to Boston Common Gardens and a lot of cafes, shops and tourist attractions. There is a valet parking for an extra charge. We enjoyed our stay very much!
