The room and common area are luxurious. The location is great as it is within walking distance to the bus stop with buses to various tourist destinations in SF, the great food in Chinatown, and the cities beyond the GG bridge. Just need to download the bus apps so you can make the bus changes. The hotel has charged my credit card an extra (substantial) sum , over and above the room charges and taxes, which I had pre-paid for. This is despite my not consuming or using any extras. I have emailed Fairmont but am still awaiting the outcome of Fairmont's investigations.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful!!! It also has a really cool restaurant/bar located in it with live music and a really neat environment! We were "wow-ed" by the luxurious beauty of this hotel! Not to mention, the staff was great! We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely choose it all over again! If you choose to walk downtown or to the pier, the walk is extremely tedious. It is all uphill. Very steep!

Architeture Housekeeping and hotel maintnance for the 2 stays within 8 days 1. plenty of dust in the room 2. tv remote control was not available in the room, had to call housekeeping for replacement and this one was not function properly 3. Bath tube was not clean. had hairs from precious guest 4. Complaint was made trough phone to FO manager which ensured that room would be cleaned again. Returned to the room after turndown service, dust remained the same, housekeeper lef behind a wet clean cloth on the side table 5. Called again to FO left a voice message since manager was not available , but no one returned the call 6. F&B and Bell Boys are often seen chew gum, or with hands on the pocket (bell team only)

Location is superb. Very nice environment. Rooms are very, very old and unless you pay A LOT, your view and everything will just be, horrible. You can get something way better for what you pay. Fiancee got food poisoned and we only got the bill for the meal back! You hear everything from room to room, even the one upstairs!

Old but lovely decoration and atmosphere. On top of no hill, one can enjoy spectacular views of the bay and city. Tram stops nearby and can walk to chinatown. The doorman on duty when we arrived and tried to check in was very rude. Should work in a budget motel rather than a 5-star such as the fairmont.

Loved how quiet our room was and how friendly the staff was. Our bathroom was very luxurious and we got a free upgrade to a tower room with a king bed. The room service wasn't that great of quality and it was very expensive. It took a very long time for them to bring up bath robes.

Just the location. Nothing more. The place look old. The room I got wasn't the one I expected for the price I paid. Also, I haa a specific request to have a city view and called in twice and was told the request was possible that there will be check out for rooms by the time I check in and they will put my request in . but I guess it was all sweet talk becoz the day of arrival nothing was available. I pretty much know that who ever assign rooms for arrival that day either did not read the request line on the reservations arriving for the day or there was nothing written on my reservation and was lied to by the previous ones I spoke to on the phone. Also the room itself looked eerie. For a hotel that looks nice from outside it certainly did not live up to par from the inside. The glass windows were dirty, it looks like housekeeping hasn't touched or cared about it in a million years. The paint color of the walls nd ceiling looked old and rundown. The view from the room is not even worth looking at - dirty and dead gazebo or I don't know what it was. We got back to the hotel around 10pm, opened the lights in the room and it felt like I was in a haunted house or something. The phone in the room is old and looks dirty as well. No pool for a hotel that big?!? And the staff at the desk who checked me in obviously did not know what she's doing and doesn't even know the area. Asked her where the Masonic Center was and she didn't know where it is or which way to go. I got worried for a bit thinking it might not be as near to the hotel as I thought it was - but when we asked someone across the street we were told it was just 2-3buildings away!. And this lady at the desk did not know that?!? Come on. She needs to get trained seriously. Overall I wasn't a happy camper. Had I known the service would be that bad would have thought of this hotel for a second.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The view of San Francisco Bay was spectacular. Two members of staff we would like to mention - Megan who checked us out on departure, she was very friendly and helpful and an elderly oriental man from room service, apologies for not having his name. He noticed immediately on arrival into room that we did not have cups for in room tea/coffee and brought same to us. He was a very courteous and gentle man. At check in we were simply checked in, no welcome and no assistance in registering for Presidents Club when requested. No slippers or bathrobes in room on arrival - had to request them. No complimentary water. Coffee and milk stocks were not replenished on second day of our stay - had to request them. Charged for item from electronic bar which we did not have. The Fairmont in San Francisco was the last location of our trip to the US. We had experienced the best of service in all other locations but regret that we cannot say the same about the Fairmont.

The suite was perfect! Luggage was 25 minutes in coming. The luggage tag was misplaced and three couples luggage was delivered to one room. Requested at the front desk and housekeeping six wine glasses in the room each day. Had to call for them two days. Left a note in the room the third day and got the glasses.

The staff is so nice and personable. Although we live in SF our suite was so spectacular with our views that it was really like it is in postcards. The Cathedral, Mark Hopkins, Pacific Union Club, fog horns, cable cars clinging by made it magical.

Great hotel, lovely breakfast, great location. The bathroom although great in size had very poor facilities as there was hardly any water coming from the shower and no alternative. This was an upgrade room on 12th floor so it was really disappointing. But most of all it was virtually impossible to shower!
