Regal accommodations and highly respectful and helpful staff - truly a gem a top San Francisco's crown - setting the bar a top Nob Hill.

A finer attention to details - refinish room furniture - update electric sockets pet welcome and basic supplies of 2 bowls and/or small bed - doggie bags and a few specific waste bins instead of just ashtrays outside would be some quick wins.

Beautiful building in a fantastic location.

Superb facilities but everything is at extra cost. 13.95 for wifi. Valet parking pricey. Spa very expensive. Shame as an inclusive price would be a sensible policy but with the pricing you feel plain mean at deciding not to pay and going to Starbucks for the wifi. NB On street parking is free 1 block away on Powell.

The Fairmont sf is a beautiful hotel, full of kindness, care, luxury, and history. It has that special, European, feeling.

Good location, large clean rooms so very comfortable stay.

Guests have to pay to use the leasure facilities and we couldn't get into the Tonga bar!

Wee were upgraded to a suite when the receptionist learned we had just got married. Also,when my daughter told the room service manager about the wedding, she sent a bottle of champagne "on the house". The room and view were fabulous.

The bathroom was small and plain for such a beautiful suite.

Free wifi as I was a member of the Presidents club. Free access to the fitness centre as a member of the Presidents club. Location (as long as you don't mind the hills) and the Bay View from the Tower Room.

Room service breakfast was poor value for money and not exactly as it said in the menu. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. No space in the fridge for anything of your own. We wanted to go for a drink in the bar, but the tiki bar had a long line to enter, even for a drink so although it looked nice we did not stay and the piano bar seemed too pretentious and overpriced, so went out to local Starbucks for coffee instead!

Very elegant atmosphere and accomodating staff. Loved the Tonga Room and the coffee bar on the corner.

Parking is very expensive, although parking in San Francisco is bad in general.

It's old and grand in its own way.

The hotel wasn't that busy yet a family with noisy young children were booked in next door. No tea or coffee facilities. For the price you would expect a complimentary bottle of water and tea/ coffee facilities in the room .

The hotel was very well located, was extremely comfortable and well appointed and had a very good reputation, which is why I booked it!

This hotel has been left behind by the current crop of true 5* hotels. It is dated/tired and does not provide many of the little things. Bars close before midnight. No complimentary water in the rooms - the $8 dollars for a bottle of water from the mini bar is a little steep, to say the least and $6 for a can of diet coke is a nonsense. It seems the hotel survives on providing the local community with a place to hold events etc, meaning huge numbers of non-guests at weekends, culminating in lower/slower service standards.
