I think it is. Completely overpriced for what you get

The best things about this hotel was the staff and the cleanliness of the entire hotel. Looked as if it had been recently refurbished and then maintained like it was new. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms well insulated and nights were quiet. Breakfast was limited but good quality. Espresso machine really great and available all day.

Room was quite small but conviently layed out. Not having stayed in NYC since 1968 we can't really comment on value for money but it seemed OK.

The welcoming front desk staff; the fact that breakfast, including fresh fruit, was included; the existence of a small sitting area in which to drink coffee, read newspapers, or talk; the availability of the coffee and tea machine for a hot drink at any time; the convenience of the subway station around the corner to get to downtown Manhattan; the proximity to Central Park and Museum Mile; the fact that the wifi really worked (it doesn't always in hotels that claim to have it!); the general atmosphere of a friendly informal small hotel.

The room was a little too small for comfort: tiny wardrobe, no place to put bags so they were out of the way, only one person (in double room) could sit on a chair. Breakfast could do with some wholewheat bread or healthier cereals - all a bit too white and sugary for my taste. But the advantages (what I like) way outweigh the slight discomforts mentioned here.

The staff is great! Everyone in the lobby and the cleaning ladies are all ready to make you feel comfortable and at home.

We loved the fact that we got an upgrade to a bigger room and we felt the service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. The location is great and the elevator is so stylish. We will return!

Very small room, sink hard ato negotiate

Stepping into the hotel off of the busy NYC streets felt like discovering an oasis. I found it very quaint, comfortable and relaxing after a busy day in the city, and enjoyed lingering in the mornings before venturing out.

We love old, well-maintained hotels and this is a gem. Small in scale but very elegant and clean. The staff was great, and we especially enjoyed the afternoon wine and cheese. My husband and I had a great time and we will definitely visit again.

I traveled with my sister and found the hotel to be perfect for us. The room was small but decorated beautifully and super comfortable. A great deal in a perfect location!

Location

Too small room not for two people! Too warm, fan extremly loud or broken. Ihome for ipad not working. Bed too soft, very uncomfortable. Bad breakfast.

The staff were welcoming, the room was compact yet had a lovely relaxing and comfortable feeling. I liked the style and interior of the hotel and the room/bathroom. Breakfast was enjoyable.

Wi fi not available in the room and the TV reception was poor.

Wi if only worked if I stood near the door. That is not conducive to business. No real room service. Put a coffee maker in the rooms for Pete's sake.

I liked the typical New York Street locality and ease of access to shops, restaurants, bars, subway and Central Park.

Great, helpful staff. Really went out of their way to help me. Great location, too.

Room size is pretty tiny, but can't really complain given its in NYC

The heater in the hotel is too weak.

The room was very clean, the location is great and the latte/ coffee machine was useful. The staff was very helpful in coordinating airport transportation.

There was a faint smell of cat pee in our room and it seemed smaller than the advertised 210 square feet.

The rooms are beautifully appointed - wonderful sense of quality and attention to detail. The bed was divine.
