Location, Price, Cleanliness Well maintained Friendly Staff
The vending machine was not well stocked.
Everything we wanted to see and get to was within walking distance. And since we arrived by Megabus the location was excellent. Just blocks away from drop off and pick up. And they held our bags as we enjoyed our first day.
We knew it was a small hotel, but sometimes you kind of just expect little things ( contential breakfast) but I would go back to the Gem.
The staff is very friendly and helpful
The wifi connection was not great it kept loosing the connection
Modern Comfy Close to action Friendly staff
A bit small Not near a Metro station
Good location. Great price. Friendly, cheerful staff.
The room was hard to keep cool.
The location was incredibly convenient and the staff were all super friendly and helpful.
The wifi was hit or miss and the beds were way too firm for my personal comfort level.
Everthing was new and very clean, friendly staff.
A bit far away from the Metro station
clean and convenient
elevator broke down
The staff and location to Javits Center
The staff here was great. Very friendly and helpful
Great location for the Javitz center otherwise a little busy because of the tunnel traffic
Staff are amazing :)
Priced a bit too high for what you get, but can't complain about location perfect. Round the corner from all the madness, which was perfect. So I guess you pay for the location :)
The price is okay. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
The room is quite small, the bathroom supplies was so limited.
The location near by Times Square and bus station
The room to small for 4 peoples (double room, double bed), the window side bed was attached to air condition indoor unit, the wifi signal was weak, the room wall was not isolated well that might pass sound or conversation from other room, the bath foam was empty in the last day we stayed before leaving
The convenience of the location to the Jacob Javits Center and Penn Station was perfect and very easy to walk to. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They stored our luggage before we were able to check in to the room and after we checked out and still had a few hours to spend in the city before heading to Penn Station. Overall, a pleasant experience!
Love the quiet room! It is small space but very comfortable!
All was fine, my room key started giving me problems the last two days
Great location, good price considering we are in midtown. Clean bathroom. Comfortable and big bed. Very nice and helpful staff. I would go again.
Maybe the room was a little small.
staff was very excellent. they knew I didn't like our room, and they did everything to accommodate our discomfort. - too small and unattractive view.
the room - too small. no room to sit with my husband and talk. we had to get into bed most of the time because there was no other place to sit. the Wi-Fi did not work for the first few days we were there. the view bothered me greatly, until I went to the art galleries and decided it was art, not a terrible view. I would not have selected this hotel if I'd known the room was small and the view of granite with wires.
The staff was nice, room was clean
Location was okay. It's about 6 blocks from Broadway but those 6 blocks are huge
The manager was extraordinary.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were amazing.
Staff was friendly and helpful and doing the best they could it seems
Woke up to find someone drunk and passed out in the hallway outside of my door - had to step over him to get out of my room. It took awhile to get him up apparently (after I had informed the front desk) - and while he was no longer passed out when I came out again over an hour later he was still just hanging out in the very small hallway next to the elevator stinking the place up. Good times!
location and overal vibe of the GEM on w 36th was depressing.
I hope to stay there again soon. Such a great hotel.
Great location, great price
Staff was incredibly rude, rooms did not have enough mirrors
