The Gables is the perfect place to be close to the mountain and downtown Stowe. The Inn boats an unbelievable breakfast menu included in the stay. Hot soup in the common room each evening sparks great conversation, as does the atmosphere by the fireplace, sharing stories of the days adventures with the other guests and Randy the Gables proprietor. This was our first stay at the Gables and we were blown away. We will definitely be back.
A warm welcome, great breakfasts, comfortable inn type setting
a bit drafty
Staff and breakfast were great. Friendly and delicious.
Walls are thin, you can hear every word your neighbors at saying. Rooms need to be updated, cracked window panes, chipped paint, squeaky beds. Showers are warm but not hot.
We got an upgraded room since he felt bad that he never had us reserved for the one night.
Did not like the fact that he did not have our reservation (he apologized that he never checked online). Luckily the place was not booked, but it could easily have been sold out since this was during Christmas.
Helpful staff and hard working owner
This place is great based on it's convenient location, great price and amazing breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend it.
Gables Inn was quaint, beautiful, and a great value for a modest price. The people who run the inn are so gracious and friendly that is almost better than home!
Friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast. Close to shopping and restaurants
Could use a little up dating but all in all the room was clean and comfortable
The staff are very friendly. I want some tea. They sent it to my room with beautiful tea pot and cup. The breakfast is fantastic. I need to leave very early. can't catch the breakfast time. They left me bread and butter on the table. It is great experience with them.
Randy and Annette were excellent hosts at this beautiful inn. From the tables at breakfast you could see the surrounding mountains, and the meals included with our stay were incredible. My second morning I had eggs benedict. We even received an upgrade to our room because it was a quiet weekend. Everything was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. We look forward to returning to the Gables Inn in the future.
Really liked the welcome and relaxed atmosphere. The room was cute.
The bed was a very small double. We were friends sharing and were leaning on each other most of the night (we are both 130lb females).
Room design very poor, and the beds were not comfortable
Personality of the inn. Cozy just what I imagined an inn in Vermont to be. Breakfast was great
Pillows way too hard
The friendliness of the staff. Really made us feel a part of a family.
Bed was too hard and the room was very small.
Comfortable bed, good quality cotton sheets
The place needs a deep clean, repaint and refurbishment.
Very good breakfast.
Breakfast was fabulous, decor was well suited to style and age of Inn. Friendly staff.
Would have preferred coffee in AM, either in room or available in dining/living room. We're early risers.
The breakfasts and Randy the host.
Cose to the main road so a little noisy.
Randy - the owner- goes that extra mile. Lots of information on local facilities and when we were let down by a taxi driver he came out himself to collect us. Breakfasts were terrific. And the Riverview Suite bedroom has a very comfortable huge bed and a hot tub/jacuzzi. We highly recommend the Gables.
Small attention to details- a bulb out and no plug for the kitchen sink (soon rectified). Just minor things which didn't detract at all from the stay.
Large rooms with fireplace. Outstanding breakfast. Location and hospitality were amazing It is very old but clean and casual place - very close to everything.
Most memorable about the Gables Inn is the breakfast.
The owner randy was awesome. It's an authentic Vermont inn !
