Location, free wifi. Anthony on desk at arrival was very helpful and welcoming.
No central facilities ie no bar or comfortable lounging area if waiting for someone. Room and bathroom very small. Little hanging space. Corridors narrow and dark
Having a window that looked out onto street
Very nice and comfortable bed Good cleaning Nice restaurants in the area Good location close to everything in Manhattan Male receptionist Anthony was great, kind and gave good advise on restaurants and so.
Extremly noisy from the street, had to sleep with earplugs to get a good nights sleep. The bill got quite higher than expected the day of checking out. Due to several taxes, we payed more than 200 dollars more than expected, and the girl receptionist didnt really bother to explain how so. A really bad way to end the trip. We've never experienced this when we have booked with other companys, where we also payed in advance and not on the last day.
I loved the location. being that close to the subway (and a subway line we could figure out fairly easily) and walking distance to so many restaurants and bars was wonderful. also nice to have a whole market right there. The rooms were good. The size was better that what I expected based on past reviews.
I think the staff was hit or miss. Had a couple people who were very helpful, but some that were quite rude (especially the lady working upon our arrival). The noise was sometimes an issue but nothing that I didn't expect being in NYC.
I loved the staff, specially Anthony at the reception desk. He was super helpful and friendly and made me feel super welcome.
The room and location were perfect for a slo traveller.
We loved the location. It was easy to navigate by cab or subway anywhere in the city. Good restaurants nearby. They were quick to correct anything in the room that didn't work. The bed was comfortable, and there was excellent wifi. We enjoyed our stay.
It's on Houston, so it was noisy. After the first night, it didn't bother me at all. One day they missed our room, so it wasn't cleaned up. The ice machine is broken, so you have to ask for ice and they retrieve it for you. That's only a bad thing if it's after 8:30 pm when the maid service goes home.
Great location- you can walk to the East Village, Nolita, LES, Soho. Friendly staff who were very accommodating (we were moved from the basement to the 6th floor after our first night's stay). Overall room was clean and on the 6th floor had good light.
Bedding and sheets could be a little cleaner and crisper. Towels could be bigger. The basement in summer (we only stayed in the basement room 1 night) isn't the most comfortable with the heat.
Hotel with excellent and helpful personnel, clean rooms, very nice bathrooms and conditioners in bedroom! Amazing location with 2 nearest subway stations, and famous places in a couple of blocks (Little Italy, Chinatown, Chelsie and other) many cute cafes and bars and good grocery store (whole food market ) with special floor for eating in 50 meters from hotel)) This hotel is pretty cool for positive travelers without huge luxury demands! I satisfied by my choice! Just positive emotions! Go! Go! Go! ;)
No refrigerators((( No irons((( Nothing critical, but it's could be soooo cool!!!
Loved the location. Very convenient for my business travel into midtown on the F train and close proximity to downtown.
Room was hot and stuffy as well as hallways and elevators. I couldn't sleep well because the air conditioning unit would not run for more than a few minutes at a time set on the lowest temp (68). It definitely didn't feel like it ever got down below 75 degrees and there wasn't any way to run just the fan either to keep air circulating.
lift not working in lobby
Staff very helpfull and friendly. Wholefoods near hotel. Room bigger than averange NYC hotel rooms.
A little bit noise street, but it. Didnt disturb our sleep.
Wireless internet worked great. Nice sized room for a NYC hotel. Room air conditioner worked great. Easy transit via subway to midtown, times square, and central park. Easy transit via bus to get to world trade center and battery park.
Air conditioner in the hotel lobby was not working. Elevator was somewhat slow, but not unreasonable. Bathroom in my room (#303) smelled like a sour rag was used to clean it.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff, near subway, restaurants and shopping. Staff very accommodating. We stay there every time we visit our daughter.
Ice machine was broken on last visit but staff somehow delivered ice to our room 5-10 min. later.
Very kind staff
A lot of noise on the bedroom
The location The staff Comfortable beds Great value Quiet on the top floor (for NYC) Excellent storage for room size
No kettle in room Air conditioning unit very noisy Bathroom fan light very noisy Not really in Soho - in Lower East Side - slightly confusing to find initially
It was a great location to East Village, Soho, Chinatown etc. etc. there is also a Wholefoods store next to the hotel. Room was tiny but had everything we needed abd was clean and comfortable. In NY you are only there to shower & sleep so it was great.
The air conditioning was loud in the room but vital in the summer months.
Location attractive from the booking listing
The room was on the basement floor. No window completely chlostrophibic, dark room. I left the following day.
The staff members were all very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable and a good size for New York. I would stay here again.
The only negative was that the window in the bedroom did not open.
Great location (safe neighborhood, right on Houston str., Close to many resturants, bars, Little Italy, Chinatown, 3 subway lines). Clean room. Polite and helpfull staff (Antony, thanks for everything!!!). No bedbugs (very important, considering this to be a major problem for most ny hotels). The giant Wholemeal just across the street(the best way to start your day).
The room was too small. The a/c was noisefull and the street noise was just too much (despite the comfortable bed, we just couldn't have a nice undisturbed night's sleep). But after all, considering you are in Manhattan, where everything is very very expensive, I think it was a good value-for-money hotel.
No gym,pc,conections to travel agencies
Great staff, room was a decent size considering NY and the price.
Hotel in a bit of warn condition.
The position. Small rooms but friendly and helpful staff.
Rooms too small
Location - close to subway, bars & whole foods, easy to access both uptown & across to brooklin Staff- helpful & courteous Fridge in room
Small room size Difficult to get stable room temp Microwave in room made loud buzzing noise at rest (easily fixed by removing from socket)
