We asked for an early check-in and late check-out and they accommodated us! This was especially great since we ended up having lots of snow on our check out date and plans got cancelled so we slept in. Location was great! Asked for view and was able to see Watergate and Kennedy Center. Short distance to Foggy Bottom Metro and restaurants/Whole Foods at GW. Staff was very friendly and had nice perks in lobby like cookies, water and hot chocolate.
Was able to hear all the noise in the room next to us. The on-site restaurant is too expensive and limited to be a dinner option. There are lots of affordable options nearby but on a snowy/freezing trip it would have been nice not to have to leave the hotel for dinner.
Hotel was well located for access to airport and city. The reception area friendly with hot chocolat and cookies available. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Very positive experience.
Location to gw university. Small european feel.
Everything was great.
Staff were very friendly. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Nice to have a kitchen, especially since Whole Foods is 2 blocks away.
Firm bed and very clean
Parking delay but that's a minor issue
The location was perfect. METRO very close and a trendy spot.
Room service was so so.
Love the valet option, very accomodating and helpful, cozy feel to the place, comfortable, well equipped rooms.
I was expecting a regular room and actually received a one bedroom suite! I had a small living room and kitchenette in addition to my bedroom and bathroom. The kitchenette was great and I bought breakfast materials at the whole foods close by and was able to store all the supplies in the small fridge. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and warm on the very cold night I stayed. The decor is a bit outdated but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I am in the area.
They said they were going to have my $50 dollar fee back when i leave and this is the time my money is not on my acct yet
Very pleasant and comfortable.
My daughter is getting recruited by GW and they treated us like family!!! I would recommend this hotel to anybody looking to attend GW.
Location is pleasant and close to subway and short walk to a lot of sights. Big room. Fridge microwave coffee comfort. Staff very nice. Great price for smart hotel
Nothing at all
Nice located and good value hotel
nice location, nice room and nice service near the Kenneydy Center and wartergate. will stay again.
Spaciousness of room Great hospitality of staff and their arranging for a 4am taxi for me!
How hard your signage was to find and read in the dark. I had to ask the hotel across the street where you were.
5 mins walk from a main metro staion Central location Reception & security staff very welcoming Large room Good heating Comfortable bed Good bathroom facilities
Relatively thin walls allowing some noise from adjoining rooms Some room fittings aged & a little worn
The room size was a plus
The breakfast selections where limited. Had to leave the hotel and grab breakfast.
Staff Decor BEDS!!! So comfy Stately ambiance Ability to control room temp (we like it on the cooler side especially for sleeping) Gym
-- Condition of shower/tub: ceramic was delaminated near drain, shower head was not hand-holdable and was wiggly -- Request via booking.com for a room on high floor not fulfilled
Friendly staff. They provided us with basic breakfast and coffee during Christmas as they realized there would be very few cafes open during that period. Beds were comfortable and the room size was quite big.
Close proximity to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station, Whole Foods, many restaurants. Valet parking though pricey was convenient. They put our rooms across from each other without being asked. Comfortable sleeper sofa and roll away bed. Nice towels. loved the pump bottles in the shower for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Separate thermostats in the bedroom and living room area. We liked the boutique style of this property.
Loud voices carried through the walls of the living room area from next door. Not a deal breaker though.
The george washington univercity inn is a quite hotel near all the sites in the dc. It is 20 minutes walk from "the mall" and close enough to everything by foot (if you are capable of half an hour walk). The great thing is that for young travelers it is a good choice because you can walk everywhere you want without the metro. For places far you will need metro but it is easy to use and very close to the hotel. Really recommended! Nice clean and a special experience hotel.
Not enough parking. no hot water in sink.
Room was nice 1 block from Metro
When there was no breakfast, the offer was made to cancel our garage parking fee, a gesture which I appreciated.
We were told upon checking in that there would be a complimentary breakfast. When we showed up there was nothing except a few apples and oranges. Not even coffee. Everything had been consumed before us (this was about 9:30 on New Year's morning--not excessively late). There's no excuse for not having a fall-back breakfast option even if the restaurant didn't leave anything fresh. Yogurt can be kept in the fridge, as can thawable baked goods. On January 1 of all days, when most other breakfast places are closed, it is imperative to follow through on promised services.
Free WiFi. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Spacious rooms.
Kitchen closed on Mondays.
