Felt Safe and close to GWU Hospital
Breakfast is very good, but too slow and too expensive. The heating is too noisy.
Staff, size of room and kitchen.
Wind whistled through cracks with all windows closed.
Friendly staff, clean room, large room.
Old with slow elevators. My room on the top floor was noisy because of pumps/equipment on the roof that kept me awake at night. As usual in the the US - 'breakfast is extra cost'. Gym facility poor.
We had a great stay with our infant. Having lived there before, we know DC well and enjoyed the central location. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the room was very large and clean.
Only cons - a little dated, but not a big deal. Parking is a bit more expensive $40/night than other hotels we've used in the city.
loved the location which was quiet and within easy walking distance of some of the nicest areas of Washington. while a bit faded, I appreciated the room size and the courtesy and responsiveness of the staff
Location is pretty nice
The room was just atop a garage and the floor was very cold.
The staff, location, and staff were excellent.
The room and bathroom are older and worn, which felt unclean.
Very pleasant and friendly staff. They printed everything I needed for our DC tours and even my boarding passes when we were ready to leave. I loved the flavored waters for us after our long days walking and they also had apples and cookies for snacks. It felt quaint and comfy and very local. I loved that it was on a quite street and that a cute little 7-eleven was just 1/2 block over.
Softer pillows would have been nice and being able to adjust the temp in the room - it didn't seem to work for us. No biggy because the temp was just about ok for us. Also, there was a dressing area before you enter the bathroom door and it seemed like wasted space. Could have used some hooks to hang towels or clothes since we did stay there for 4 days.
Was it smoke free rooms?
Convenience of location and cleanliness.
Wonderful staff, great location, food, shopping and transportation just nearby, very pleasant neighborhood.Little treats like complimentary hot chocolate after a freezing day made the difference!
The restaurant could be better for what it charges, and many of the things we ordered were not available.
the shower isnt the best. the bathrooms are really outdated.
The staff was nice and gave us a good rate the third day when our flight got cancelled!
On Saturday night, we had many nose problems from the college kids partying next door...the staff seemed to do what they could to quell the noise.
The staff at this hotel are wonderful. Even though it is an older hotel and could use a bit of aesthetics updating, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff makes this place worth it.
Location was great for campus visit to GW. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Whistling, leaky window that wouldn't completely close. No dedicated heat for bathroom.
We asked for an early check-in and late check-out and they accommodated us! This was especially great since we ended up having lots of snow on our check out date and plans got cancelled so we slept in. Location was great! Asked for view and was able to see Watergate and Kennedy Center. Short distance to Foggy Bottom Metro and restaurants/Whole Foods at GW. Staff was very friendly and had nice perks in lobby like cookies, water and hot chocolate.
Was able to hear all the noise in the room next to us. The on-site restaurant is too expensive and limited to be a dinner option. There are lots of affordable options nearby but on a snowy/freezing trip it would have been nice not to have to leave the hotel for dinner.
Hotel was well located for access to airport and city. The reception area friendly with hot chocolat and cookies available. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Very positive experience.
Location to gw university. Small european feel.
Everything was great.
Staff were very friendly. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Nice to have a kitchen, especially since Whole Foods is 2 blocks away.
Firm bed and very clean
Parking delay but that's a minor issue
The location was perfect. METRO very close and a trendy spot.
Room service was so so.
Love the valet option, very accomodating and helpful, cozy feel to the place, comfortable, well equipped rooms.
I was expecting a regular room and actually received a one bedroom suite! I had a small living room and kitchenette in addition to my bedroom and bathroom. The kitchenette was great and I bought breakfast materials at the whole foods close by and was able to store all the supplies in the small fridge. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and warm on the very cold night I stayed. The decor is a bit outdated but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I am in the area.
