Perfect location overlooking Santa Monica beach this hotel has great styling (30s Art Deco boutique) but still very modern and comfortable. Our room was a suite overlooking the Pacific and very beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Facilities and staff were also top-notch. Will definitely look to stay here again when next in LA.
WiFi strength and speed could have been a bit better.
staff were very friendly.
The carpet in the room was filthy,my socks were stained from the dirty carpet, It appeared it had not been cleaned in months. They need to replace it if they are going to charge what they do.
Hotel location was perfect for us, would definitely stay here again.
Great location, friendly helpful staff.
Bathroom a little small
Everything about this hotel is FAB! Staff are SUPER helpful. Rooms are LOVELY AND the location is PERFECT! My second visit and I will be back!
Decor and location
Saturday night noise
The staff were so lovely, all of them from front desk to restaurant and concierge. The pillows were like sleeping on clouds! The beds too were very comfortable. We were on the 8th floor on the side of the building and still had a great beach view. The old fashioned lifts were quirky but efficient and the Art Deco style lounge area next to the foyer was very impressive and inviting. And with its bright blue facade, The Georgian was very easy to find. The food was great in the balcony restaurant and so were its sunset views. The main shopping strip was no more than 100mt away around one corner to the right and a nice arcade with high quality shops and department stores Bloomingdales & Nordstrom one block and down the street to the left. Outside the hotel was a bus stop to take you to Downtown LA, Beverly Hills and Hollywood etc (ask front desk which number bus to take) then directly opposite catch it to Malibu or Venice and all trips we had were a flat rate of $1.75, paid on the bus. Across the road, the iconic Pacific Park with Ferris Wheel & wharf was a short walk to the left and heading off to the right and down some stairs crossing a bridge over a road, was a long walking and bike path with Beach Volley ball nets as far as the eye could see. We loved The Georgian!
There was nothing about the hotel to dislike but I was surprised at the number of homeless people just across the road resting along the beautiful garden paths but apparently it is very common in many beachside areas. So I may not have felt comfortable walking along there later at night but they seemed to keep to themselves and appeared no threat. Sad.
Loved the location. Super convenient to the beach, shopping, and our student at Pepperdine.
Valet parking was a bit challenging in the evening only - the restaurant next door gets grouchy. Staff at the Georgian were always kind and accommodating.
Legendary hotel right in the heart of Santa Monica beach activities. Having grown up in Malibu I have seen this hotel and neighborhood evolve over the past 40 years. Cant beat the location.
Santa Monica still has alot of homelessness especially this close to the palisades bluffs. Creeped out my 7y/o grandson several times over our 4 days. Hope for cool evenings because air conditioning is pitiful especially in the two room suites. Staff seem generally uninterested and $27 per day parking is a bit of a kick in pants as well. Too many other updated hotels in the area to justify $650 a night...look elsewhere.
Loved the suite. Felt like a vintage high-end Hollywood apartment.
Since it was from the 1930's modern soundproofing doesn't exist. You can hear all street noise, conversations in adjacent rooms, babies crying, etc. We won't let that stop us from returning often!
Located close to beach, shopping and restaurants.
Priced a little high but I presume that the location dictates it.
Two minutes from Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade respectively, the Georgian's location couldn't be better. Large room and wonderful bed, too.
the staff was very friendly and the hotel has so much charm and is will maintained. Will stay again.
The room is very close to the sea shore. The hotel is old but with good design.
The hotel was lovely and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere
Internet hit and miss on 7th floor
The staff were friendly & helpful. Room was small but adequate - had a great view of the ocean. Location is fab, right on the beach and on the corner of Santa Monica boulevard with loads of restaurants & shops.
Room quite small for the money paid. I guess Santa Monica isn't cheap to stay in!
Hotel staff was honest and keeled our room clean - made the beds and put our child's teddy bear back on the bed in a fun location each day.
We had a booked a king bed room online. When we got there we realized it was a king bed suite! The room was huge and beautiful. We were on the 7th floor and our windows looked out ocean front.
Suite (size & position within hotel was quite excellent Location (almost opposite Santa Monica Pier offers a fabulous view & very convenient)
I would have believed that breakfast would have been rolled into the cost of a suite.
Being central to beach pier and most amenities
Unable to hang clothes very small closet
Staff were friendly. Location is very good. The hotel has an art deco charm is a sea of unremarkable buildings.
The room smelt of air freshener and was stuffy. The decor badly in need of an update. The coffee machine was broken. Just a little depressing
This place had an excellent staff and one of the most comfortable beds I've experienced while traveling. Very good wifi, very clean and well-appointed king suite, impressive view of the ocean and Santa Monica Pier. Location was perfect -- walk to Venice Beach, simple drive up the coast to Ventura, minutes away from Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. Building itself has been well maintained and has all the Deco touches you expect. Breakfast on the veranda featured great people watching. Extremely close to a wide selection of decidedly touristy shopping and dining.
Breakfast was strictly average, had hoped to be more impressed.
perfect location at the promenade; and just a short walk to 3rd street
rooms not soundproof at all; very old and rustic charme; only 1 elevator
Location was good, right on the front and close to the pier, restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was reasonably priced.
Some staff were a bit unhelpful.
The location was suburb within walking distance of everything , the hotel has an old English glamour to it and stands out above the rest of the buildings in the area.
I only stayed one night
