Score from 175 reviews Excellent
Smelly bathroom drain which was not sorted out during our 3 day stay. Instructions missing for lights/ fan control although helpful maintenance man did come immediately
Location was excellent. Close to beach and shops. Very helpful friendly staff. Smallness of hotel made communal areas cosy. Good breakfast although not included in overnight stay price
No facilities for money paid and decor very tired and shabby looking
Location and excellent, helpful, friendly staff
The staffs are nice. Even though we did not live in a room with ocean view, we can still enjoy the ocean scenes through our windows. Location is great. Several great restaurants on the street.
the elevator was not working, we were on the 8th floor and I stayed there while running LA marathon no one wants to walk 8 flights after running 26.2 miles
nice size room, comfortable bed
room size, location
Staff could not do enough for you, good location for shops, beech and pier.
The hotel had only one functioning elevator that broke the day of the LA marathon, forcing guest/ runners to hike up several flights of stairs to get to their rooms. They mixed-up our car keys at the valet, but quickly corrected it and were very helpful.
We loved the helpful staff, great lobby, big clean room, wonderful location near beach and pier access, along with great shopping and restaurants downtown. We were able to leave the hotel and return during the early morning of the LA marathon due to the hotels back ally access.
Loud construction noise starting shortly after 7 AM, luke warm restaurant food and near cold coffee,
Location, most of the staff was very helpful
Hotel was under construction. Only one elevator working. Wait was awful. Often small elevator was full of workmen and there was no room. Then stairs were closed due to laying new carpet. Noisy in AM(8:00) drilling in cement stairs!
Location was great. Easy to walk the beach and close to Third Street Promenade.
We loved the rooms, large sitting room and bedroom. The staff was always cheerful, helpful and car valet service was really fast and friendly. Location, sunset, beach.....Breakfasts were always delicious.
One old elevator. Worked fine but if you don't want to take the stairs because you have luggage it can take a while.
Beautiful old building with lots of history. Staff was friendly, and the location was great. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size. The wifi worked really well. I would definitely recommend.
A little noisy
Beautiful, old hotel in a great location
Small room Small bath Nobody wished us congratulations for being on our honeymoon.
Friendly valet Nice mugs Water in the lobby
The hotel has clearly had some upgrades, but they stopped short of making it truly modern and luxurious. So if you are used to five-star properties this may not be for you. But we were looking for a lower price point so were happy making that trade off.
Location with ocean view was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Best part of all was the beautiful old fashioned European style bar and veranda for cocktails and breakfasts.
didn't have one
The art deco, the location of the room and the hotel and the friendly service.
- It considered away from downtown - only 1 elevator
- Its pretty close to EVERYTHING in Santa Monica - The staff were really friendly and helpful
Walking to the promenade, the pier, dinner at/on the veranda. Also our LA tour began immediately across the street. Super location for tourists who want to see s lot in a short time.
The mattress, foam rubber, hot and spreads all movement
The view from our bedroom window and very friendly efficient staff.
There was maintenance occurring right outside our room which was noisy and we were unfortunately awoken at 8am on our last day by housekeeping.
The location was excellent and the staff at the check in desk were very helpful with any requests we had.
Very friendly. Great location.
The small bathroom
The uniqueness of the hotel - old but classy & lot's of room in the one bedroom suites Location was close to shopping & the pier
The bed is uncomfortable, probably it is an old sofa bed. No proper support. The beddings are not fluffy. The room temperature is uneven The bathroom is not modern and less than perfect. Wifi unstable. Might get hacked.
The location. the service The view The breakfast menu is good The quality of food is good
Wifi network was insecure and your vehicle has to be valet parked for a fee.
Amazing location and the staff was so friendly. We will stay here every time we visit Santa Monica.
This hotel is charming art deco. The best part is the location with a view of the ocean, and patio restaurant. We enjoyed walking on the Palisades Park path daily.
