Wine hour and happy hour at the hotel bar. Close to the Literail for easy transportation. Bathrooms were exquisite as well, along with the food for room service.
Greeted with wine on arrival and upgraded, separate shower and bathtub (w TV) almost made me want to take the time for a soak.
The room was nice bathroom was awesome
$200 a night and no internet no parking
Ambiance Great food and service Excellent gym wine hour happy hour breakfast coffee Five star all the way!!!
Location is good and room was very nice.
Hard to block out light coming in at night from building next door. It was under construction with no window treatments on it and bright temp lighting was on all night. But the big problem was two large dogs barking late at night in the room right under ours. Staff moved us in our PJ's to another part of the building so we could sleep. We were told the hotel had to move several customers from two floors because of the same problem. They said they couldn't reach the customers who were apparently out late and had left the dogs alone. However, the barking started the very next night even though the dogs' owner was reportedly present with them. I called the front desk and complained and assumed something would be done. But the barking continued well after we went to bed. So we had to pack up and move across the street. The dogs and their owner should have been kicked out, or at a minimum, moved to a more secluded part of the building rather than expect the other guests to relocate. Manager should have been fired.
Location for shopping and dining was very good. In house restaurant was good.
Room temperature at check in was 55 degrees & took forever to heat up. Remember outside temp was just above zero. Fan noise keep us up half the night. Moved to another room supposed to be the same, but was not. Very doubtful we stay here again. Over rated and over priced.
location and acessibility to lite rail
Had to pay for wi fi , no coffee or breakfast
The room was very well decorated and had all the usual appointments. But it was so small, it was like living in a closet. The bathroom was tiny as well. This is the smallest hotel room I've ever experienced. And, at this hotel, it was almost half the size of the rooms I usually get when I stay here. That was disappointing, coupled with the fact that it cost on the high end of what I've paid at this hotel in the past. If nothing else, I should have been told it was an very small room and given the option of going somewhere else or upgrading to a room with more space, if one was available.
bed and pillows were very comfortable, room was very nice
view from room was rather disappointing (center room)
The pregnant hotel employee (in September) at registration was extremely helpful adjusting the hotel bicycles so we could take a Sunday morning ride to breakfast. Thank you!
Excellent city centre location, comfortable and friendly, lovely bedroom and bathroom, nice bar
A great modern hotel with fabulous rooms, the bed was sooo comfy and the bathroom was to die for.
We had a blast it's right downtown. Great location everything's right there. And you can take a cab or catch a cab or jump on the T. But what we loved the most was the complimentary bicycles the Grand had. We jumped on the bikes and road down town to a event to meet up with friends. Then after the event we road back along the Mississippi River seeing all the sights the falls and the ruins park. Lots of fun all complimentary to the Grand. And they're super pet friendly. They have a awesome entrance in to the hotel and cool bar lounge and a great restraraunt too. We will be going again. Thanks booking.com we ha a great booking time!!
The price is kinda of high but it is a nice classy place and awesome location and pet friendly too. So it's really not that big of an issue. Plus if you save and get it through booking.com you will be fine and get you money's worth. Will be going again.
The bed was great! Very comfortable.
Coffee was pulled at 10am, I stopped to get some at 1010am.
Not much. Free internet (if you ask) and a free glass of wine did not make up for the other deficiencies.
The service ranged from non-existent to second rate. Our room was ridiculously small for a premium room. I was offered an "upgrade" to a suite for $40 a night but turned it down because all the suite face in to what they call a courtyard and I call an alley. In most ways just not what one expects from Kimpton,
Location Decor Comfortable Bed Great Service, friendly
We stayed over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised to find that parking right across the street was free! This was explained to us after we were about to purchase valet parking. We were so pleased that they told us that - saved us $90 in valet costs. Overall a lovely place with great staff and ambiance. I found it exceedingly easy to get around. Will definitely stay there again.
Close for walking distance of downtown attractions and restaurants.
Very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Loved the sauna/jacuzzi/fitness ctr. Staff was very friendly. The staff knew my sister had her 25th wedding anniversary and had a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for them on in their room. Very much appreciated.
Mainly got because it had a pool. The pool closed at 530 and wasn't set up for children.
Staff was excellent and knowledgeable. the accomodations were outstanding for the price we paid. The location was perfect for a stroll to the Target Center for the concert we were attending. Overall, it was one of the best weekends we have ever spent in the city!!
We have stayed at other Kimptons and The Grand Hotel is our new favorite! We received upgraded rooms and early check in. The hotel itself is lovely, from the delicious scent as you enter, to the doormen, the valet and the friendly bartender. We would definitely stay at The Grand again.
Not a thing.
Nice retro themed hotel in the center of town. Wonderful staff and good service. The complimentary cycle was great for exploring the city and nature trails over the weekend. Room was plush and well appointed.
No ramp for luggage at front door steps. Fittings and decor may appear a bit old fashioned to some.
Comfortable bed. Restaurant in the hotel.
The lighting in the bathroom.
