Rustic charm Friendliness of staff
Could use some new carpet
Wonderful, historic building, quiet location, host was very cordial and helpful.
Some dust and cobwebs in room, but not enough to complain about.
Very nice place to stay. Breakfast very good Staff very nice and friendley
Lovely building, friendly owners, great breakfast
The only thing was that there wasn't much option for places to eat in the town.
Heather and David are warm and attentive hosts. We requested recipes Heather uses because her cooking is exceptional. We wished our wash cloths had been changed daily and some attention to our room. We had five delightful nights and this attention would have made it even better.
Charming atmosphere; wonderful breakfast, friendly host. Very comfortable.
Heather, the owner, was incredibly gracious and accommodating. She treated us like we were family rather than guests staying at her bed and breakfast. The Grist Mill is a charming cozy unique place to stay. We felt lucky to have found this historic lovely place!
Breakfast was very good!
There no water glasses in the room.
At first, when we pulled up, our thoughts were "oh my, what have we gotten ourselves into?". From the outside it looks old and run down, but as soon as you walk inside, it's a totally different experience. We loved the rustic decor of the facility. The management is very casual, friendly, and will do anything to provide a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean, with older, rustic style furniture and private bathrooms (loved the claw foot bathtub). Breakfast was wonderful in the comfortable dining area, as the staff cheerfully met the needs of all in attendance. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely stay again if in the area.
Very quaint and relaxing atomosphere. Perfect location for traveling from Monument Vallet to Arches National Park.
The town of Monticello does not have a good place for dinner.
very friendly staff, cozy/old fashioned accommodation, something different from motel-style!
superb breakfast but served only until 8.30am: we are on holiday... the shower nearly in the room with the moquette carpet is anti-hygienical
Very Nice bed and breakfast. Excellent Breakfast. Very Quiet. Large Room. Family room was great and kids were happy to have their own room. If you get there early enough all the doors to the rooms will be open so you can peak in them.
Hard to get a hold of staff.
This place is awesome in every aspect. Heather is very kind (hope I wrote her name correctly) and helpful. The mill is very evocative and romantic. The room is cozy and comfortable.
Heather. . . the hostess and owner was very helpful and friendly. The property has character in that it used to be a working grist mill and some of the equipment is still in the B&B. The room was comfortable and clean and breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed the stay so much we stayed on an additional night. Special place.
The Grist Mill Inn is a very unique B&B. The room was decorated with period pieces. There were numerous sitting rooms to relax. The breakfast was excellent.
Not much to do in Montecello.
The feeling that we were trusted to use the facilities eg kitchen etc Lovely beakfast and very friendly staff.
A little hard to get luggage up the stairs. But that was the trade off for staying in such an interesting building. Beds could have been a little more comfy. But still got a good night's sleep.
Very nice rooms for families convenient location for canyon parks
small town with few restaurants
The owner was super nice and very friendly. The place was awesome and the food was very good with large portions. We will come back again just for a visit overnight.
Quaint and comfortable. Location was easy to fine, wonderful old mill building, fun to stay. Owner and staff were very polite and concerned for our convienence and comfort, greeted you with a smile - which is so refreshing. The breakfast was prepared with care for quality and presentation, very good.
No real criticism other than some stairs creeked, but this added to charm and the experience. The free standing tub was beautiful, but we were worried about the water splashing out and causing damage to the floor.
Check in was between 3 and 5 pm. We did not get into town until 8 pm. I called before hand and she said no problem the key will be on the desk and it was. Room was clean and comfortable. We woke to a nice breakfast. Definitely will stay again on our frequent travel from Idaho to New Mexico.
Great common areas.
Could be cleaner outside.
I think the facility is very good...interesting place.
I think in the years to come they will learn to improve as inn keepers. Pleasant for sure but a B&B should have a better than standard breakfast. Keeping the kitchen clean, fresh coffee, changing towels and making beds for multi day guests.
Heather and David were excellent hosts. Friendly and accommodating. Our room on the 3rd floor was like a clubhouse in the trees or perhaps a treehouse. Fun to be in.
I felt that the back entrance to the inn from the parking area needed a major cleaning and sprucing up. Does not leave a good impression. That is reason for "fair" evaluation. Our room was very clean. Heather and David should inform guests about available kitchen privileges. We learned about them on our last of 3 days there.
The location was great with respect to the national parks we wanted to visit. Arches, Canyonlands, Natural Bridges, and Mesa Verde. The place was clean and breakfast was really good.
The dining options near the inn were OK, but not great. Having a glass of wine with dinner at a nearby place was next to impossible.
Very caring people
