The gardens and grounds surrounding the hotel are exquisitely beautiful. The view from the terrace and the dinner was spectacular. We saw an Appalachian Autumn in all its glory. The staff was extremely helpful and the service was excellent. If the occasion arises, I will definitely come back.
we had a very relaxing weekend at Grove Park Inn and would definitely do it again. they put us in the Main Inn the first night which is very historic and the rooms are small. we preferred our last two nights in the Sammons wing where the rooms were much more modern and bigger with a fantastic city and mountain view.
Vallet service is great. Check in very smooth. Lobby is fantastic with huge fireplace. View from room is fantastic.
This historic hotel is gorgeous and worth a quick stay. The restaurants are great, the views are stunning, and the amenities are excellent (although expensive).
They charge you for everything. You must pay to park, plus they charge some silly resort fee. It costs money to use every amenity. To use the spas, hot tubs, or pools, they charge you a ridiculous $90 fee for a day pass. Absurd. The only thing that was included with our expensive hotel rate was the free coffee in the hotel room.
Very comfortable. we did wonder why they didn't put the overhead heating on in the outdoor dining area on the week we were there. It was quite cool (mid Oct.) It really would have enhanced our dining comfort.
Really enjoyed the combo playing on the lobby Thursday evening
Freezing while having dinner at the cafe on the patio. Also, being seated at breakfast right next to another couple when the room was almost empty!
The service was excellent. We love the grand setting of the hotel. Gift shops were very fun. Concierge sent congratulatory chocolates to our room.
We have stayed at the grove park before and this was a huge dissapointment. It was the first night of our honeymoon and we really wanted it to be special. We payed $500 for the "deludeluxe Kung with mountain view" and the room was a huge dissapointment. Might as well have been a Sheraton. We were on the first floor on the golf course in the new part of the hotel which lacked all charm of the older rooms (where we have stayed previously). The extra spa charge was exorbinant and a surprose so we skipped it. All we wanted to do was take a jacuzzi. At many luxury hotels guests get access to the pool and jacuzzi (sports club is too much of a walk and doesn't feel part of the experience, especially when you're there for 1 night only). Lack of fires in the fire places was also a huge dissapointment. We may go back to the grove park for dinner or drinks but will stay at the biltmore on future special occasions.
We loved the overall experience and the spa! Lovely setting and beautiful scenery. Staff was extremely kind and helpful!!
We didn't like that there were pets there!
We loved our stay
We had to leave
The Spa is outstanding. The Sports complex offers a wide array of classes. The view is amazing and the variety of food and drink is wonderful. The most amazing historic hotel.
The feather bed pillows
Fantastic staff and facility.
The lighting in the room is a little dark but that was the only negative. Everything else.............. Fantastic!
The ambiance of the hotel; the history; the views and especially the spa, best I've ever visited! Breakfast buffet excellent for the price, end time too early for the weekend (10:00 am).
Room location was near the elevator, lots of traffic.
The room was standard for the price of $ 399 plus fees. There should have been more amenities and not just access to amenities.
Comfortable setting with great mountain views, terrace dining and surrounding proximity to Ashville and quaint country villages.
Parking expense - just the principle
Very historic setting and beautiful views.
We paid a great deal for the accomodations to be told we were not allowed in certain areas. A word in advance about all of the restrictions would habe been nice.
Dinner desert wine view nice room great shower
Wife would not ride elevator
We have had dinner here many times, always wanted to stay overnight.....it was totally worth it!
Location, views, available amenities,
Some staff could benefit from more training. I addressed this with management and got an excellent response.
location of Hotel restaurants bars lobby verranda
sheets were crummy (pilling) room had terrible view
The staff was great and grove park inn was fantastic as always. Love coming to this place
Was disappointed with my room 445 Beds a little hard but most of all the tub had damage to the bottom and I cut my foot on the rather large flaking holes along the bottom don't expect this at the grove park inn Had dinner on a the main terrace that night and got a stone crab claw and they brought a mustard instead of butter to dip it in just said sorry
Its a great place with lots to do. The staff is well trained and friendly.
The rooms are very expensive and everything else is expensive. We stayed one night and spent over 500 dollars for the room, food and tips. Guess we are not rich enough for this place.
We are glad that we took a food tour of Asheville before checking into Grove Park because, once you are there, you do not want to leave. It has grounds, spa, sports, and fine restaurants. All with a great view of the mountains.
If you want a spa treatment in October, you have to book it way in advance. It is a costly place to stay. Would like a bargain, but the price is realistic for a top-flight resort.
Vue 1913 was not worth the money. Quality of food was overpriced. Edison' was excellent!
Facilities are great, views awesome, room huge
at dinner on the terrace was disappointing, sent my steak back and it still was not right, manager brought me unsweetened tea instead of sweet, they forgot my butter sauce when they brought the steak back, over all a downer for my wife and myself
Location and dining facilities. The art gallery was very spectacular
We happened to hit on a day when the rain decided to come down heavily. However it did not really cause any problem.
