We really enjoyed everything about staying at the Omni.
I was very surprised that there was not shuttle service from the airport to the Omni.
Location, parking, restaurants on site
Room, bed and bath were less than what I exp
Just a great experience
being together for holiday
No bad experience
This is an annual trip for us to celebrate our birthdays. My wife enjoys a " Hickory Dickory" by the fire more than any present I could buy her.
My wife had booked a couples massage in the fall to surprise me. She has left her teaching career so we are on one income. I asked if we could combine it with some sort of room package to save a little money but I was told we couldn't ( this was not Tina but another desk attendant). For one night , I spent $847.00, not including dinner at the Kitchen.
We liked nothing about this Inn.
Our room looked like servants' quarters. Our request for another room was denied. We checked out and drove back to Greensboro
Wonderful old lodge feel with two gigantic fireplaces to sit and rock and sip a glass of something. Live music later in the evening in this same great room/lobby. Great view of mountains from our room.
An incredibly long walk to our room from the lobby. $25 resort fee added to the bill in order to obtain wi-fi. The fee included other things that we did not use and/or were not available. Valet parking is $22 per day, self park was $15 per day - seemed a bit high. Watch your details when booking with booking.com - two different rates for two nights which was not highlighted during booking.
Comfort and Service
Breakfast wait staff not very personable
Spa was nice, architecture
Staff VERY young and somewhat inexperienced, indifferent, lots. We did not find it welcoming or progressive. Best for conservative "family values" types.
Room furniture was in poor shape with warn arms.
Room still had trash in it from previous guest and also they had smoked
The staff is great, the resort is wonderful. It's always a treat coming to this historic mountain oasis. One of my favorite places in the world. The SPA is pricey but it's incredible.
100+ year old "attended" elevator Room on 6th floor like a penthouse Elegant and stately, with modern conveniences
Valet Parking, Bell Person to carry in my luggage, The Ambiance, The Walk in Fire Place, The Spa, The Staff, The room service at 5am, The Place to eat on the outside Terrace, The beautiful View of The Mountains, /The Beautiful View of the Spa, The wonderful, exquisite food.......... The drive in to the hotel with all the lights and the man with the hat that greets us and tells us where to go. The person who ran the elevator on one side of the hotel. The room..........I loved it all. OH, BTW, It had started to rain, and I was talking with someone on the phone and told her I had to go. I had left my wallet laying on the table with close to $3 Grande in it and I was absolutely sick when I went back and could not find it. I called lost and found. Some Saint had turned in my wallet and the money was still there. Imagine that? Shows me what kind of Aura and Spirit of The Hotel and The Type of People who stay there. Thank you Grove Park Inn! It is Perfect, my Favorite Hotel in the Whole wide World! Elizabeth Winter
Always have a hard time with the extra charges. A 25 dollars resort charge added to your room.Just include it in the price since you have to pay it.
The place is absolutely beautiful and entertaining. The views and sights are overwhelming as you pull up to the entrance. You know that you are about treat yourself to something special.
A bit pricey all around. Guests are charged for parking and must pay extra to use the spa.
The feel of history was very good. The resort in itself was beautiful. Staff over the top friendly all times of day!
The heating unit is too noisy and kept girlfriend up most of the night. The tub unit did not drain properly causing tub to fill up while showering. Rooms just smaller than anticipated. Also old elevators were hassle.
Everything! Great customer service , beautiful views, comfortable bed!
We really enjoyed the hotel. The holiday decorations were still up and so were the gingerbread houses. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and it was very relaxing to sit by one of the big fireplaces.
The walls were a bit thin. We stayed in the main section of the hotel and the rooms were dated and the walls were thin. Our neighbors had the TV on all night long and we were able to hear it through the wall.
the surroundings and setting of the facility
worn rooms and bed uncomfortable- having to pay to use the spa $100 per person is INSANE
staff was very friendly and helpful
room was an average hotel room for crazy high prices.
The tiny bathroom and extremely tight entry past a small closet near the entry door is something I would have expected from a much lesser "Motel." Not a Hotel that charged $389.00 per night. We were Very disappointed in that part of our stay. But the rest of the hotel is 1st Class.
The atmosphere, the staff, the food, the music, the senic setting...oh and the spa!
