The staff was helpful and friendly The food was delicious
Too far from Yosemite to drive daily
Hotel was quaint , comfortable, and really clean! Staff was great. Friendly and helpful. Restaurant has a very good chef, we enjoyed eating al fresco for breakfast and dinner.
Rooms on the street are a little bit noisy and bright. Ask for a room on the top floor or in the back for more privacy.
Close to Yosemite
Situated right on busy road. cluttered, cramped rooms. Lots of useless, impractical furniture. Two enormous teddy bears on the bed! What's that all about - and where on earth in that little room to put them? Memorable, but not in a positive way.
Position to the yosemite national park and the building construction
Wifi and the bed was very small
hand-made cookies in the room, very clean bathroom, soft bed, a calm.
Breakfast was not well-organised, with a small choice of vegetarian meals, not working Wi-Fi.
Lovely historic inn. Friendly staff. Excellent dinner and breakfast
Mattress was too soft
Staff was amazing. Under ordinary circumstances, I would say that the staff was super friendly, informative, and welcoming. But, upon our Friday night arrival, we realized we had a dead car battery. The staff helped us find a garage, and then Randy, the maintenance man, drove us to the next town to pick up a new battery and then he installed it!!! We were on the road by 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. And, that was after a great night at the Iron Door, right next door, and a great breakfast at the Hotel. Thank you!
breakfast is ok.
I arrived late at night, around 11-12 pm. There is no one at front desk. The phone number left for me was wrong. It took me 30 min to finally find the correct number and find room key! The room was quite small, and the bed was too soft and not comfortable. The room became too light when sun arose.
Food, location to Yosetime
The staff, especially Barbara, treated us so well!
Evening meals and breakfast very good.
Bedroom too cluttered with old fashioned furniture. All dark and drab. Couldn't move in bedroom because of unnecessary furniture. Couldn't open suitcases because of lack of room.
The staff, the Hotel and the Restaurant were excellent.
Lovely old hotel/nice friendly staff/decent breakfast with lots of options. Dinner was very good/outside beautiful/AC perfect!
One of the beds was so squeaky it kept both of us awake--advised staff of problem
The hotel was about an hour's drive to Yosemite valley, and so perfect for visiting it for the day. The hotel itself was very nice, with really friendly ladies working at reception. The hotel is lovely, with it looking particularly nice at night, whilst being really close to a great bar/restaurant. The breakfast we received was excellent, setting us up perfectly for the day ahead.
The price you pay for a quite basic room is rather steep when compared to the other hotels we stayed in whilst in California, although you are paying a premium for the location I guess.
Nicely renovated. Very comfortable room (110), especially nice feather bed with stuffed bears. Appropriately furnished, clean bathroom with good towels, everything you might need in a hotel room. Small room but good sized bathroom, where we set up our suitcases. Eunice provided friendly and personal check in. Good restaurant with attentive, Lithuanian waitresses. Everyone was outside in attractive courtyard for dinner and it was crowded but the meal was very good. Wilma was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good and efficient. Broad selection of wines. We enjoyed a nice syrah from the Sierra. We suspect it is the best option in town and would return.
The hotel is close to the road, so road noise is unavoidable, though not obtrusive. Head board was loose. Unable to make TV remote work. Shower head could be bigger and took some time to set temp right. More attention could be given to keeping the upper courtyard available. Comfy seats needed to be cleaned and that area seemed unkempt, though we had them clean a table and we enjoyed our cocktails and appetizers there. They could use better organization for serving, such as using trays to bring larger amounts to table. Staff had to do too much going back and forth. Though awarded for its extensive wine list, some selections were not available and it was impossible for the waitresses to know.
Teddy bears decorated on my bed were old and dusty.
low value for money
Too noisy...hard time sleeping. Bed was lumpy.....Morning Breakfast wait staff and staff not very efficient.
Proximity to Yosemite
Breakfast was delayed by one hour, which reduced our Yosemite visit. Expensive for the quality of the accommodation. Slow wifi.
The Groveland is an excellent hotel from start to finish. We were travelling so only stayed one night, but next time will go out of our way to stay longer.
Friendly helpful staff comfortable accommodation
Remodeled and refurbished in early 1990s and not since. Breakfast good, dinner mediocre.
Staff were liars, switched rooms from our reservation and lied about giving us a better room, which obviously wasn't.
Location to Yosemite park. Location in historic town - right next to historic Iron Door Saloon. Very friendly, helpful staff.
The bed was a bit too soft
The breakfast was included and had a wide variety if choices. We also are dinner there and the food was delicious. Cookies in our room on arrival was a nice touch. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Rooms were noisy. The sound of water running from the next room was very loud. Tv was small. Robes looked worn out. Sheets were small and kept coming off the mattress.
