View Location Private beach
It was quiet and peaceful with great beach access. It was an easy walk to mid-town Chatham. Our accomodation was just perfect for our mom and daughter get-away!
The bed mattress was a bit too firm for my complete comfort - but was still ok.
the view is terrific. the bed is colmfortable and there is plenty of hot water
it's a modest room that is in need of updating with minimal accessories. even the soap and shampoo are of minimal quality. for 280.00 there should be decent soaps.
Fabulous location overall, and congenial staff.
We could hear the neighbors on both sides of our room, intimately, even with the TV on. The hotel needs to invest in either wall insulation or sound board. Very, very disconcerting.
View and location was excellent. Very clean. Kitchen OK for breakfast and lunch but a stretch for dinner.
Hard bed, old pillows. Small was room - one would get "cabin fever" if the weather was poor. Wifi strength was poor. Mobile reception in the room was non existent
Great location, large spacious room .. lovely owners! Enjoyed watching the sunrise from our room. Delicious coffee! We loved the beautiful town of Chatham .. also enjoyed walking to the fish pier from the motel and watching the seals as the fisherman offloaded their catch. Can't wait to go back!
We have a house in Chatham and gave it to our active family tribe. We escaped to the Hawthorne and loved the view, beach, walks to fish pier and efficiency of our unit. A great escape!
The only negative (which isn't your fault) is the quality of water for swimming because of the seals!
I liked the location of our king room and the little kitchen. Had a great cottage feel to it as well. I liked the fact that they had chairs right outside your room on the grass to take in the view and the proximity to town and the water.
The room was a bit small, had to move sideways at the end of the bed to get to the closet and the bathroom.
Location Efficient and friendly staff Value for money Proximity of the beach and downtown
Lack of privacy in certain rooms Lack of luggage carts Lack of small tables by the lounge chairs in the yard.
This is a very relaxing place to stay with a beautiful view. The rooms facing the sea or side view are worth paying extra for. Other rooms face the road. We bought rolls and pastries after arriving and enjoyed a relaxed breakfast in our room at leisure both mornings. Chatham is delightful and a short walk. Recemmend the little cinema.
The location and view from our king efficiency was terrific. The appointments in the bedroom were wonderful (pretty bedspread, nice furnishings, super clean) and the mini-kitchen was perfectly stocked. Made making small meals in the room very easy. Chaise lounges outside the rooms on the grass, overlooking the sea and harbor were terrific. We LOVED our stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful
Walls were a bit thin. Heard our early riser neighbors every morning. Price for the stay was on the high side (you pay for the location) given that there are no resort type amenities-pool, bar, restaurant etc.
Staff was very accommodating
The location to the ocean, the short pleasant walking distance to town and the town itself. Room was very clean, well maintained. Grounds were very clean and well maintained. Staff / manager was very pleasant. Enjoyed the stay and will definitely return.
Seemed a little expensive for a pre memorial day weekend, but it was competitive w/ the other lodgings in the same great area.
Loved the location so much that we had our 20 something daughters join us for the last night of 4, in an open extra room at the motel, with a nicely reduced price.
We had the ocean view. It was excellent. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The appointments were rather dated: a 60’s style. Walls were thin allowing the family noises of the owners/operators to be bothersome into the evening. The bed wasn't of contemporary pillow top style. Hard would best describe it.
Very friendly staff who gave excellent restaurant recommendations.
The personal care Attention to detail The spectacular location
A short walk to the beach . Pity the weather was foggy so the view wasn't as good as it could've been . There was free tea/coffee in the main reception all the time and had lots of info about local restaurants - including menus . The room was lovely . Very clean and very comfy . Nice bathroom with great shower . It's a 10 min walk into Chatham .
Nothing stuck out as a negative .
