Helmsley Middletowne Hotel

Sijainniltaan ok ja hintalaatusuhteeltaan hyvä. Verrattuna muuhun New Yorkin hottellien hintoihin jopa edukas.

Kadun meteli kuulu liian hyvin huoneeseen. Tosin hotellista löytyy myös ei kadun puoelle olevia huoneita.

Excellent recommendation for a nearby restaurant for dinner. Decent continental breakfast in the morning.

I just cannot get over the cost of hotel rooms in New York during the week!

I loved how close it was to everything without being in the middle of the noise of New York. Door staff were very helpful at all times.

No restaurant or bar in the hotel to purchase food or drinks.

The rooms were quite large and comfortable as was the bathroom. Everything looked newly renovated and was very clean.

THe lobby is very small and with a breakfast included it gets very congested in the morning when everyone is coming to get their bagels and coffee.

Price, convenient location, efficient staff

It definitely needs renovation.

Definately the breakfast, there was not any refil, so if you' re late there is nothing to eat & drink

The reception desk personnel (a woman) was very nice and helpful.

The hallways in this hotel were disgusting--tired and badly in need of redoing. Since our room was not ready, I asked if our bags could be brought up to our room and we were told by the doorman that that was not the usual procedure and it would be extra. We decided to wait until our return at night and retrieve them from the storage room ourselves b/c of his attitude.

I was unlucky. Room 1 was in a corner, small and dark, I requested a change and was offered a smokers room in the second floor. I took it. The second room No.211, was dark and dirty, the carpets were filthy and the door frames with chips and poor paint, there is a connecting door to another room and I could hear my neighbours talk. In the bathroom, the bathtube was dirty and chipped, the tiles were coming off and the corners had grime.(I have pictures of it). Unfortunately one morning there was a 5 to 6 cm cockroache in my room, which got me into panics. I requested a change & was given a suite, acceptable and clean, but I still had the fear of meeting another little beast. The staff was very accomodating and helpful.

It was an expensive week to be in ny. I don't believe the hotel is normally this price.

It is a well located hotel that has a relative good value considering the high rates prevalent in NYC

The elevator is slow and the corridor walls are not very clean.

Location

Breakfast was "served" in the "lobby", and there was not a proper place to have breakfast, thus everyone had to return to the bedroom to eat, where there was no table no sit at.
