The staff was so welcoming in every way...from delivery food menus when we didn't feel like going out to driving us to and fro to fabulous meals. Cool hip decor and really high ceilings gives you a feeling of a hideaway... This place is a gem and we can't wait to come back!
Quite noisy as it is in an industrial area. Can see the potential though as this area is being renewed.
Very friendly staff. Great car service as was a bit of a walk to bars etc but didn't impact badly on our stay. Enjoyed the walks but weather was nice. Might feel differently in winter, so perhaps more drivers as a few times we had to wait a while so just walked instead. If it were cold we would probably have waited which could lead to people getting impatient. All in all we had a great stay, the staff at every level were super nice & helpful & very warm. Augustine was particularly nice! A beautiful hotel & would love to return.
No lift. A few small basic things like some hooks in bathroom for towels/clothes & same in entrance to room for coat etc but really that's minor!! Didn't like the glade air freshners all around. Kind of cheapens the place & not necessary!
... the noise of the trucks outside on Henry St which is very busy during the day.
New (modern) hotel Good bed Clean room Roof terrace Friendly staff Complimentary taxi/shuttle service!
Elevator not (yet) in service
Amazing hotel, friendly staff who went the extra mile, even dropped us to the subway for free! The rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds. Hotel well located
The hotel is very clean and the staff were very helpful and nice. I think that they had fresh fruit and water available as soon as you walk in the hotel.
I didn't like that all rooms didn't have a microwave. My room had a refrigerator but no microwave. It defeats the purpose. But staff was nice and let me use their microwave and told me in the future all rooms will have a microwave.
Staff go out of their way to help. Beds were so comfy. Very nicely decorated.
Staff was very helpful. And they offer ride to nearest restaurant anytime. Hotel was clean and smell fresh at all time. Overall worth of money. Highly recommended.
My room had no microwave.
Stag From Reception to Housecleaning are very helpful and friendly . Kudos to entire team. .I want to stay in the same place in my next visit to NY. .
This question itself. ...
The décoration is very original, the whole place is extra clan, Roomy and inviting. The staff is very helpful whatever your demand and there's a complementary car service taking you anywhere within 2 km, as long as the Subway station is a bit far. But it's no big deal when you have such à nice place to stay
The location: Greenpoint is à remote part of Brooklyn and thé G line is not very convenient.
Loved the design and decor in the hotel. 95% of the staff were friendly and efficient. It is a bit of a walk to the subway however the shuttle service to and from the hotel was great. It is close enough to North Williamsburg which is AMAZING - food, parks, general vibe! Had a blast exploring Brooklyn for a change whilst in NYC - great part of town. Be sure to use the East River ferry to get around... Really great stay even with a 3 year old on board.
The staff were very helpful, nice and courteous. The made sure guests were very comfortable, there was a car made available to take guests to surrounding areas and they constantly had fruits and flavored water available. The wifi was unwavering and their cable channels were excellent.
I didn't like that the windows are not sound proof. I was woken by the sounds of trucks honking and entering speed bumps.
The Henry Norman is by far the nicest hotel we've stayed in especially given the rate. We've stayed at much pricier hotels in Manhattan, and now that our son lives in Brooklyn the Henry Norman is the only hotel we need to look for. Staff was superior to every other hotel. We just love Laurissa, Mr. Singh, Julian and the rest of the front desk team. Housekeeping was always friendly and had a smile. We had the best stay we've ever had in NY and look forward to coming back to the Henry Norman.
Since hotel is only 2 months old, the elevator wasn't working yet, the bar wasn't open yet, and there was no coffee bar area. But the staff brought us anything we needed, the coffee packets were a good quality bean, and we didn't need the bar!
The cleanness of the hotel , new facilities, and very kind reception people, especially the shuttel car bmw2014 to the nearest subway station.
Construction in some part of the hotel makes alot of noise, though this may be permannant , yet the floor lakes an insolation material , I.e walking on the wooden floor with sandals makes noise to the under room location of the hotel seems to be remote out of any nearest shoping area,
Staff; art; room amenities; internet access; funky, friendly Polish neighborhood. Especially good if you have a car.
Long walk from subway.
This is the second time I have stayed at the Henry Norman and I again I really enjoyed my time there. The staff are very accommodating and courteous, even when I checked in at 2:00 am in the morning after my flight was delayed. This hotel is excellent value for money, given the quality of the rooms and the location. Highly recommend it!!
The room we got was very spacious and clean. The design and decoration was right up our alley and the furniture was comfortable. The staff were fantastic! Took care of us right away and always greeted us on our way in/out. We checked in late and pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade! Kevin gave us all the info we need and great recommendations for local eats. I could tell he really loves the area, and his enthusiasm made us want to get around and discover it ourselves. Extras: great complementary wifi. Car service to and from anywhere within 1 mile of the hotel came in handy after a long day of walking about in Manhattan -- they picked us up at the ferry dock. Location: behind the hotel was mostly industrial and everywhere else close by was residential - families and kids. A nice park is just down the street. We enjoyed being able to come back to a quiet neighbourhood at the end of a day spent amid the hustle of Midtown Manhattan or Coney Island.
Water pressure of the shower is not as strong as I'm used to at home (Canada). But I rarely find a hotel/resort without this problem, so I don't hold it against the hotel. It could just be the city/building.
Hotel is beautiful, staff is very friendly and helpful. Terrace has great view and is very comfortable to relax. Definitely would recommend and stay here again.
No breakfast or fitness center
Staff was great! Hotel is beautiful.
I requested a quiet room on my reservation and when I checked in. I was told by Sara that I had a quiet room. Horribly noisy!! My room was right across from a bus depot . Incredibly noisy all day, late at night, early im the morning. After 2 days I was moved from room 216 to the penthouse which was beautiful and QUIET!!!!! Elevator was out of order for my whole stay? Why 3 days? Double pane glass would solve the noise problem. I was told it was being looked into. Please for the comfort of your clients. DO IT!
Parking was actually easier than expected. Staff was AMAZING! Hotel is so clean, unique and comfortable. Also has nice area on first level to bring meal, have meeting, etc. Lots of great food nearby.
You're in a commercial district, lots of shipping trucks: I highly suggest earplugs! With earplugs, I slept very soundly.
Great location in beautiful Greenpoint, wonderfully decorated, excellent and friendly staff.
The staff was awesome The location was perfect for walking to everything. Food, Fun, Shopping, Bars The loft suite was incredible. Felt like I was at home. I will be staying there again soon!
treated more like friends than guests.
