The room decor was very nice. Having an old fashioned telephone(though it didn't work), and other antiques was sort of fun. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I didn't try the jacuzzi, but it's nice to have that. My room smelled like a wet dog. For the price, I would have liked more amenities, considering I was on the off season.

We thought the woman who was working the desk was really great and that the hotel has real potential to be something really special. This is a really old hotel that still has all the fixtures and fittings of yesteryear. If they just put a little TLC into the place as well as some minor upgrades in the guest rooms and bathrooms it could be an extreamly interesting and wonderful lodging experiance. The bed was not comfortable, here were only 2 pillows on the bed, and they were very thin. There were old broken jets in the tubs and the old controls for the jets still on the wall. Also there was a lack of electrical outlets. The television was plugged into an extension cord that was plugged in in the bathroom next to the sink, run across the bathroom, and passed through a hole that was cut in the bottom of the wall. Last but not least we were not happy about the price. This is a ski town and it was not ski season. The price should have been much lower for the lack of comfort.

Beautiful old hotel, kept up generally well and clean. Nicely located in Kingfield. There could be some more personal touches about the hotel and rooms. Didn't really make me want to hang out and spend time there. Perhaps a simple breakfast service?

Quiet, convenient, comfortable. Lady at check-in was most accommodating. Nice deep whirlpool tub but my wife has arthritis and found it too big a step to easily get in. Also no non-slip mat in tub worried her.

We were only given 2 towels in our room. When I asked for additional towels I was questioned about it. I was told we would get towels in 10 minutes and never did so we couldnt take showers the next day.

Excellent rapport qualité/prix! Hôtel construit en grande pompe au début du siècle dernier et qui a su préserver son charme et son authenticité. Un vrai voyage dans le temps a quelques minutes de la station de ski! Je le recommande vivement.

Comfortable dog-friendly accommodations; an old hotel with wall-papered walls and charming, creaky steps and a lovely large sitting room. Proprietor fixed coffee, had bread available early am for marathon runners. Sink in bathroom drained so poorly, it sat full of water forever after just brushing my teeth.

loved the price, the look of the hotel on the outside, the history of the hotel, and the staff. because it is an old hotel, though very clean, it is a little outdated (bed was old and uncomfortable and was easy to hear sounds of from other rooms (e.g. shower running, bathroom lights on, etc.).

Very friendly, warm staff. Loved the old building and the preservation of the interior. Comfortable, quiet, clean - would absolutely stay here again. Just a couple of small things: The room was too warm and we had trouble getting the windows open. Also, the $8 breakfast was slightly steep and we couldn't charge it to our room; we had to have cash.

Venerable historic old hotel. Poor lighting in the room; dingy bedding and towels, musty smell to pillows, no headboard (there were brass beds when we last stayed 19 years ago). Radiators hard to adjust. We left after the first of our planned 2 nights.
