very spacious and clean facility , a little dated but overall was nice
no air conditioning , only small box fans and one of them did not work
No air conditioning!
the views, the staff, the facilities, the cost
Lots....but the bad overrode the good. There were lots of amenities to make nice if I would have stayed for week or more: full kitchen, washer/dryer, vacuum, dishwasher w/full set of dishes/utensils, 2-person Jacuzzi that got up to a very hot temp....soothing, 2 Dish tv's so we could watch separate shows. the staff was good and the mgt very graciously allowed me to change my arrival date -- as I had erred w/Booking.com. Overall, we enjoyed our stay during our Highland Games weekend, but the phone issue really had me worried.....I should have been told at check in. Recommendation yes for some and no to others...it will depend on what they want to do in greater-Grandfather Mtn.
For the money spent, one would have though the room would have been VERY nice, not just ok. the phone did not work and I was not told this at check in. This is a big problem due to lack of cell phone reception -- had there been a problem like needing an ambulance or police or animal control (bears).... No A/C, but very musty smelling. Screen sliders were not attached or not properly, so if left open bugs could have flown in... and plenty were out. Hole in closet was scary, what up w/that. Rules that made no sense -- 'put your trash in the bins' and no bin available, there were 2 giant containers but they were pad-locked.
Great views of the mountains with wonderful sunsets every evening.
Hot water was rusty. If you tried to use the hot tub, the water was orange-red.
View was fair but not what we were told. Location was okay !
Facility was very outdated and drab ! Sliding screen doors work terrible, takes FOREVER for water to get hot, side of refrigerator was rusted, no AC in units ( they don't tell you this ), not windows in our unit ( lower level ), only screen that slide but no way to lock them at all. Outside of unit was run down and needed a update. Hot tub and pool was terrible, didn't even get to use it the whole stay from Thursday to Sunday, pool was cold ( not heated ), hot tub wasn't even hot, like warm. Bath water got hotter that it was. We were very disappointed since this was our 20th wedding anniversary trip and meant a lot to us. Most likely would not stay here again unless it was a complete remodel. Talked to staff about this and they didn't seem to care. Said they could get maintenance to check the pool and hot tub but it would be next day. It never got fixed. Office isn't open on Sunday's or evening past 5 also !
Loved the view from the living room and back deck. Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere and very relaxing after a full day at Tweetsie.
There wasn't enough hot water to fill up the jacuzzi tub to reach above the jets. Once it reached the top, the water was lukewarm at best. The water also left a thick orange residue which I hope was from mostly iron and not bacteria. Nonetheless, it was worth the price we paid and we plan on staying there again. :)
Sat TV not working . Stuck sliding patio door to living room . Curtains drab and heavy inducing dampness .
The facilities were excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. All the furnishings were comfortable and usable. The whole place was spacious and cozy at the same time.
Staff hours started too late in the morning and ended to early in the afternoon. They need to do a split shift to accommodate the late arrivals and early departees. Better signage showing where the Highlands on the road up the Mountain would be helpful especially for those who have never visited before.
The view great and room size was very nice.
The pillows could use some updating. There were no extra blankets for pillows.
you cannot deny the beauty of the location of this place. We had a wonderful trip and the staff was very nice and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and inviting.
The only thing that put me off was the clogged drains in the kitchen sink. When we got there I noticed there was a film in the sinks that I didn't understand, but after using the sink in seeing the water backing up and standing still for quite a long time I realized what that was. To be fair, we were only there for a short time and did not tell the staff until we were leaving about the standing water in the sink and also in the dishwasher so I'm sure they would have paid attention to it and got it fixed.
Was clean, with comfortable furniture, great views and necessary items for a quick weekend stay were provided.
Loved the view, the spacious room, and the cleanliness! We have a 6 month old and a 5 year old and the room was so clean we didn't have to worry about our daughter crawling around! Will visit again! Thank You!!!
Very peaceful and quite.
Upstairs bath tub/shower a bit on the small size. Not suitable for larger people. A larger person would not be able to fit in tub/shower..
The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The view was outstanding! We enjoyed the pool and game room. The pool towels were very convenient.
The heating wasn't very efficient.
I loved how they accommodated us. They were generous and thoughtful. The staff there is excellent. The rooms were cozy and definitely felt like a getaway.
we got in late & the office had left instructions so we didn't have any problem checking in. Also all the skiing entertainment was a hop skip & jump down mountain. I took the family there & came back to condo until they called me.
Too many remotes for the TV maybe they could downsize to 1 remote for each
Accomadations were great staff was helpful Thanks
I love the condo we stayed at. It was great, clean, and fantastic. Very getaway feel.
Some of the speakers didn't work in the bathroom and bedrooms. The hot tub/jacuzzi ran water that was very rusty so we didn't get to enjoy it conveniently.
Great:beds, kitchen facility, hottub and bathrooms. Wonderful washer and drier. Lovely views! Spacious unit with lots of furnishings.
Checkin staff did not answer phone the day we were to arrive. Checkin lady tried to double charge us because she was not aware of the paperwork in our acct. Trash from previous folks was on our entry porch.
location was quite good the value was pretty good check in and check out were good
the unit 103e was in disrepair leaking tub faucet lights not working no linens for sofa sleeper heavy wear on everything needs updating
No concierge. For the $, management should accommodate all needs. Our satellite went out. Kitchen supplies are dated and barely usable. Towels were horrible. Be sure to even bring your own toilet paper, theirs is unusable. We booked several nights and with a pending freezing rainstorm, we feared being trapped, unable to leave, but they refused to even give us a partial refund because we had stayed after check out time, even though the hotel was not completely booked for the following day.
Units had a great view and were located very close to Sugar Mountain
