Toilet too small you have to put one leg inside one leg out side to enter hard to sit on WC because close to the wall and door no space even to move your legs .. shower try to small good for kids only you cant stand ..
I like the building and the historic connection. The room was good size with a decent bathroom. Good comfort and overall good value
The wifi did not not really work in the room which was frustrating. The carpet was old and looked bit dirty. The parking was and issue as hotel does not have parking facilities.
Nothing much Basic amenities like Coffee maker , fridge and microwave were present in the room.
Rooms are antique showpieces. They still have CRT TV , that too kept inside a wooden cupboard. Location is not very great , mainly industrial area. Overall, the property gave out an old and jaded experience rather than a historic one.
The washroom was the worst, and our bed wasn't made up.
Location. Good staff.
Not bad hotel
They gave us separate beds. Breakfast was no included The walls between rooms are very thin, so noisy neighbors was not so pretty!
they need to update the rooms. which we were told was to happen soon
I like the history of the hotel. They were shooting a movie when we checked in. That was great! I liked that they provided a fridge and a microwave.
Old room with old electrical. Extension cords all over the room.
Small rooms, old tv, ac, mentioned on booking in down town but it was walking distance from main place.
Good rooms, good quality. Great location.
The room(s) were extremely dirty (especially the bathroom/toilett). They are too old to keep clean.
Value for money. Nice staff. Nice lobby and parking.
The room was a bit run down, the carpet was dirty. Sheets were not 100% clean. The bedside table was sticky and not cleaned. The hallway smelled strongly of some sort of air freshener which probably was hiding an other smell...
It had beds. The lobby was relatively clean. I didn't try the breakfasts (since you had to pay for it), but it looked like that was decent. The only real upside was that the people at the concierge desk all seemed friendly and helpful.
I can see that the Mayfair was once a decent hotel in a nice part of the city. This is no longer the case. The carpeting, walls, and sheets are all covered in stains, the sink in the bathroom didn't work well, and the windows (even though I was on the 10th floor) didn't have screens in them. The elevator wasn't working when I checked in (so I had to walk up 10 flights of stairs), and the paintings on the walls and the TV were all about 15 years out of date. The neighborhood was seedy (I witnessed a large drug bust on the same block as the hotel my second day there), and they charge their customers to park in their own parking lot. They were doing construction, so maybe in 10 years this will be nice again, but I would NOT suggest that anyone pay Downtown Los Angeles prices for such an awful place.
good service, convenient
No car parking
close to metro station
they do not provide hot water
- location in Downtown LA - proximity to subway station - hotel parking (great view from the top level) - 24h shops nearby - comfortable beds
- very small bathroom - kinda old
Bathroom no blankets. The walls were stained. Outdated television. Paid for parking at the hotel. Bad neighborhood.
Room smelled, tattered curtains in first room (933) floor was not vaccumed. Second room given (1232) curtains would not close Both rooms were definitely a "leave your shoes on!" Rugs dirty. Bathroom very small. Shower water ran very hot to cold during shower. Housekeeping sprays too much room spray to cover up musty smell. Many people are sensitive to artificial fragrance sprays. It was overbearing!
Good location. If you're looking for a cheap hotel and not so concern about comfort, this is the place for you.
Room outdated, bathroom sink and tub not draining properly. Breakfast is decent but not worth $14.95. Saw roaches in the lobby while waiting to check out. Walls too thin, you can hear the noise in the other rooms. Beds not so comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was great.
When I seen a picture of the room online and when I checked into my room it was not like the picture that was online. That was a big negative to me.
The small refrigerator, microwave, and ironing board was good but the breakfast included was the best many varieties.
the shower pressure for the cold water did not work that well at all but the worst thing of all I couldn't believe I had t pay for parking $70 for 5 days.
