It was dirty, seemed to be urine on the floor at the front counter when we checked in, There were flies (a lot of them) in the room. The carpet was sticky, I stayed at budget roach motels that are cleaner for less the have the price that include free parking $12.00 parking on top of the over over priced room blows!!!!

Location to Staples Center was really good...within walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The door key card was not user friendly...took multiple times to connect and unlock. No ac in room.

Excellent value for money, good location with respect to cbd and Metro

Breakfast was reasonable value at $10 but there could have been a bit more variety and choice on offer.

Relatively cheap and located near to the historic downtown

The keys got demagnetized quite often, breakfast costs were $10 and it was not very diverse

The hotel staff was very friendly, and the location is not far from downtown LA. The historical lobby is quite beautiful. Garage parking is conveniently located next to the building with direct access to the lobby from the parking area.

This Hotel has seen much better times: the historical lobby is beautiful and well preserved, but the room was very small, run-down, not very clean (found some hair in the bathroom, and quite a bit of dust under the bed) and with very basic, old and ugly furniture. This is an old ex-Best Western Hotel, and it would need an upgrade. I felt that $100 per night that I paid is too much for the poor service I received.

Do not stay here for your vacation, Period.

I loved the lobby. It was luxurious. The pillows were amazing.

I did not like that the shampoo and lotion were used. I didn't like the mildew/urine smell coming out of the air conditioning. I didn't like how there were two beds but only 1 comforter (found in the closet). I didn't like how there wasn't a screen on the window. I didn't like the pot smokers hanging out in the parking garage. I hated how the wifi was spotty and would stop working all together. I also did not like that the outlets did not all work.

Good location, great price.

Hotel is tired, worn out, and needs to be cleaned and updated. The facility and rooms were not very clean and the maid often forgot new towels and soaps. It felt like I was staying in hotel in at 3rd world country, not a few blocks from LA's downtown.

Front desk staff were very nice, concierge was great. Other than that not many good things to say

Dirty, not so much that it was old - not kept up to modern standards. Beds were the most uncomfortable ever! Linens were as old as the hotel

The concierge were excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly.

The hotel is in terrible shape. The carpet, walls, bathrooms were disgusting. The lamp shade in our room was busted and barely hanging on. The entire floor smells like cigarette yet it is a smoke free room. We did not eat there, not even once and spent the least amount of time as possible in the hotel because of its condition. The location is close to downtown but I do not recommend walking alone...and do not recommend ever walking at night. There is a lot of homeless people hanging around. The cab ride to downtown is 7$ and very worth it. Once your there you can walk around safely...again not alone and not a night.

Budget and the location suited us fine! Staff really friendly and very helpful, problem with bed on our arrival were upgraded and dealt with swiftly and happily which means a lot. Thank you lovely staff at the Mayfair.

The Location

The staff was rude and not friendly, the rooms are so tiny , the restrooms smaller, no information about the hotel on the rooms. We pay for the room it was not free, the staff need to be more polite.

Nothing. I liked that booking.com arranged for us to leave and break our reservations.

Pretty much everything. Stayed one night only because we arrived late, we checked out asap the next morning.

I thought it good value. Nice that it had free wifi, a must for those coming from abroad and use the internet a lot.

A/C was blowing out hot air when on. It seems it is centrally set to blow hot or cold. Being winter, it was blowing hot, despite it being 27C/81F outside! Annoying that the hotel staff do not inform their guests when there are items for them. It is the guest's responsibility to ask!

Was dirty, smelled, sink did not work, cooler did not work, there were no blankets on bed, pillows were flat, I've never stayed in a more disgusting hotel in my whole life, I slept for an hours and 1/2 and then left to go home

The hotel has a good location, in downtown. The staff was very nice, especially one woman who changed are room without any problem because we were not satisfied with first one (was too noisy because of air condition on the roof top). Some rooms are with old furniture but comfortable and clean. It is really good choice for value of money. In the morning we also buy a breakfast, worth it, they are quite rich and tasty, good price for them.

When we came we got probably the worst room in the hotel, it was small, smelly, noisy, simply bad. Next day we asked for other room. They changed our room and then it was much better, we were satisfied.

The rooms Understaffed at night. Outdated Technology The room they gave us looked like an old cheesy hourly hotel. It was nothing like the hotel pics they have on their website. We were switched to a better room 3 times. t night it's only one person at the front desk, we had to wait 45 minutes to to check-in. Their computer system was truly outdated and old. I understand it;s "Historic", but at least get better technology o make check-in go a lot quicker.
