The place feels like home and the people thre gave us one of our best time!! Horseback riding, amazing home made kitchen, a lovely and cute cabin and all of this in the beautiful landscape of shoshone national forest, vacations on its best!! Fabienne
The staff was wonderful. Wranglers Cody and Cody are great to talk with. Nice evening time by the campfire. Very interesting fellow guests from Australia and the UK. Breakfast was very tasty and well supplied. Close to the east entrance to YSP. Beautiful scenery.
At the end of the season, the duvets were dirty. Footprints on the pillow shams. Had to ask for water glasses. The evening meal is family style and you get little choice. The salmon was a bit overcooked but passable.
Friendly, made me feel welcome and at home. Great outdoor experience which I felt was a good representation of Wyoming hospitality.
Location was beautiful.
Price was too much for a night as a stop over.
Loved the location, the closeness to Yellowstone, staff ( they packed us a picnic lunch for Yellowstone as many of the food venues closed for season) and the view!
the rooms are very big, clean and confortable, and classic western cabin style, we are glad to find this place still open till the end of Oct, while all other nearby lodge place closed early oct.
google map is wrong, you have to go several miles toward east to find this place. dinner was terrible at $22+tax, only 2 piece of chicken and little veg, but the clostest town is miles away.
The people, the food, the other guests and the fact that it was a positive change from motels/hotels. The location, in terms of scenery, was terrific.
There was really nothing to dislike, as long as you recognize this is not a chain motel/hotel, but a ranch.
I think the evening meal was way too expensive. If the price included horseback riding and we didn't ride I don't think we should have been charged for it.
An excellent get a way from the busy bustle of the city. The setting out in the mountains provides a peaceful recluse and opportunity to de-stress from an active lifestyle. The cabins are spaciously set apart to provide a quiet setting that give you the sensation you are alone in the wilderness. The cabins were comfortable and clean. There were in cabin washrooms, ample hot water for showers and heat to warm the cabins on the cold evenings. The staff went above and beyond to ensure your comfort. Meals were great and well prepared. There are opportunities to take in visits to Cody and Yellowstone Park. The wranglers were excellent and very helpful to those with limited horse back riding experience. We highly recommend this ranch. The evenings around the campfire were enjoyable with the other guests.
Special Quiet clean breakfast fruit quality of sleep
slow wifi speed small range of wifi hot water was not stable when taking a shower
The setting The location next to Yellowstone The professionalism and friendliness of the staff
The bleak rooms in need of upgrade Mice droppings on the pillows of both beds Insufficient hot water for a shower High price for low returns
Landscape, friendly authentic wranglers, good horses. Nice cabin (Butch Cassidy) with beautiful furniture and stove in the main bedroom. Authentic restaurant and bar with great furniture. Freedom to walk to the horses at any time is granted.
Had to chase a mouse out of the cabin at first. Almost no cleaning took place for long time. Dust and dirt behind and below every furniture. Dead moths in overhead light. Light bulps missing or broken. Every second sun shade broken. Terrace dirty. Hot water only for 1,5 minutes, then wait for 2 minutes. Not hot water if neighbour is taking a shower. In general, this (originaly) certainly nice ranch now has a massive maintenance and cleanness problem. Cannot recommend this ranch until this is solved.
LOVED how accommodating the people were - love how you don't have to lock your doors ( for us city folk, that was just great ) Loved the wranglers / ranch hands who are real rodeo guys - our 2 YO son LOVED his first horseback ride with the cowboys! We got to feed the horses which we loved. Location was beautiful - we woke up to a mountain view, horse pasture, walked the grounds to over look the river. Real deal log cabins.. way cool! No phone, tv, or internet so we got to entirely unplug for a couple days. Could have spent more time there ! Food was great, the staff was just awesome and Joe, the manager sent us off with 2 UXU coffee mugs for free!! Just a really really cool experience which we would absolutely recommend and it is close to YNP .
that we had to leave!!!
Everyone was so friendly and helpful! It was so much fun sitting around the campfire with other guests and the help! The cabin was tastefully furnished. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone!
Wonderful staff; beautiful location; great experience on a working ranch
no internet; hot water in showers was really messed up and would be scalding one second and then freezing the next

Staff very friendly
I loved the hospitality and flexibility of the staff, they made us feel really welcome and at home. Great setting and very decent food, we had dinner one night, not bad at all. Lots of nature and horses, it's a true ranch with cowboys, it felt like living in a movie. Honest and hard working people, i wish we had stayed longer and i truly hope to go back!
Only issue the poor internet connection, it was really awful but it's ok for those who can afford to unplug totally from reality. I cannot....
Lovely setting, very rustic, great food and great staff!! I would go back in a heartbeat
A bit pricey
Hospitality Rural setting
We were only looking for a stop for the night, but the warm welcome, delicious meal and the opportunity to spend time horseback riding through the gorgeous mountains were to great to resist. Turned our one night into two. Wish we could have stayed a week. The staff is exceptional. They care about your every comfort and need. The cabins are beautifully appointed and offer a rustic, homey feeling. Meals are delicious comfort food and served at the ringing of the triangle bell. If you are looking for a true place to get away from it all, you have found it.
Manager and staff were friendly and helpful.
It was just a little bit too far from Yellowstone National Forest for us.
The location & the few staff that were still there. Great mountain views from the bottom of a stunning valley at the foot of Yellowstone Park
That we were the last customers of the season. There was no horse riding available. No chef to cook the 'gourmet' dinner; only the stable girls who to their credit did their best. Even xfast had to be cobbled together from what was left in the fridge. Had we been told of this beforehand we would not have stayed at UXU - a day of our holiday squandered!
Food, wild animals, setting
We had no hot water in our cabin. And no screens on the back windows so on the day we arrived the cabin was filled with flies.
